Calling all tired, sleep deprived moms

So maybe it's a FTM thing but my LO who is 13 weeks will not go to bed after her 2am feeding and will toss and turn which then causes me to toss and turn until 545am when I get ready for work.
I survive on on average 2 cups of coffee and an expresso shot a day.
I found myself sleep deprived, with back and body aches of a 60 years old, and attention span of a fish all day long. I literally bend over and hurt me back standing back up again. I think I just am super sleep deprived.
My dog came to greet me at the door when I got home and I literally picked her up and started to bop her up and down like a fussy baby. When I realized what I was doing my dog and I had a moment where we stared each other for a solid minute before I put her down haha!
What are you sleep deprived moms doing to survive and any funny moments that define your motherhood ???

Re: Calling all tired, sleep deprived moms

  • Caffeine. So much caffeine. A lot of frozen meals (definitely NOT homemade than frozen, like I bought them from the frozen food section haha). I went back to teaching this week, and some of the things out of my mouth just don't make sense. My first graders sometimes just look at me like, "What the hell is she saying/doing?" I'm currently in survival mode and just trying to get through the day.

  • Thank God I'm not the only one who's still in survival mode at 3 months!!
Going back to work has been brutal! Ugh!
  • I second the frozen meals / frozen pizza / ready made salads/ cold cut sandwiches .../ no shame ....
Anything to make prep time faster!
  • Rotisserie chickens and bagged salad have been my life saver.  We are on week two on little one battling RSV and it is AWFUL!  He was such a happy baby and amazing sleeper before and now is up all night coughing and throwing up.  I have a very mentally demanding job and I can say that due to basically no sleep this week I am not submitting any of my work to our government counterparts until I get it checked by lots of people here!
  • Lurker- my girl will be 11 weeks tomorrow...
I was holding her and dropped the gripe water- I without even thinking went to put her down on all fours like a dog while I cleaned it up-
Also find myself randomly going "shhhhhh" when the tv is too loud
  • I've definitely bounced my cats. And I've stood there without a baby in my arms but started automatically rocking and bouncing for a few minutes before I realized it.

Last night I went to sleep without dinner because I was just over the day. And I hadn't eaten lunch either.
  • yes thank goodness for caffeine, I am so glad I'm not the only one still not getting any sleep!
