My son wouldn't take a full ml when we started giving him Vit D. We switched brands and found one that only requires 0.2ml for a full dose. I exclusively BF so I give it to him at some point in the middle of the day. He's 6 months now and gets excited when I pull it out.
I also give my son his supplement before bed, i made it part of the routine, and he gets excited when he sees the bottle of it too! I think its the coconut oil flavoring in it.
I used the drops...dripped them on my nipples. Easy peasy.
We use the drops too. Since she's in daycare we put a drop in one of her bottles each day. When I asked her pediatrician if we needed to give it to her on weekends, she said no. She said Caucasian babies are less likely to have vitamin d deficiencies since their skin absorbs more from the sun. So DD just gets it 5 days a week.

I wouldn't say this is true for all Caucasian babies all the time. At my latitude, for example, your skin pretty much can't make vitamin d in the winter. Sunlight too indirect. (At least according to our pediatrician) Also, many people don't let their babies become exposed to direct sunlight until 6 months. (I was all for moderate sun exposure, fwiw)
