Makes me think that you like the name Ebony but that's it's a little weird to use if you're not black, so you figured you'd go with Ivory. That's what would come to mind if you introduced me to baby Ivory, I'd immediately think of a juxtaposition with Ebony.
For that reason, not a fan of Ivory, I think it could get (mis)read into but love the name Ivy.
I'm bias here because I have an Ivy. I think it's a great stand alone name. Not so much a fan of Ivory and I see them as two different names not as a nickname for each other.
