Scheduled my 3 hour glucose for this morning at 7:30, took the day off. Just got a call while driving over that Quest has a "delayed opening" until 8:00. So now I'm parked in front of a row of restaurants salivating.

Every morning my husband makes breakfast while I get ready, then we eat together, then I dress the kid and get their stuff ready for work/daycare while he brushes his teeth and see them off (I work from home). Today, my husband went upstairs to brush his teeth and I sat on the floor to dress the toddler. When he came back down I had to say, "Yeah, I didn't pack your lunch or her bag today, cause...I sat down on the floor." He understood.

Um..I get up in the mornings before H leaves. ...that's it... I made him breakfast once...

I'm totally spoiled. When the kid actually sleeps in a little (which hasn't happened for weeeeeeeks, boo 5am) I'll sleep until breakfast is ready. It's GLORIOUS!
I actually had to try and collect my dog's pee this morning to take it into the Vet to have him tested for cushings disease. It was a total fail. Not only did he not have very much pee come out, after I collected some in a clean container I had at the house from my OB's office, I didn't screw the cap back on properly in the dark. Needless to say I ended up with pee all over my hands and the leashes of my two dogs. Urine collection fail to start off this lovely Friday! Ugh!
How necessary are dedicated diaper bags? I'm thinking about getting the portable smaller diaper thingy and throwing it into whatever bag I happen to carry that day. Would that work?
I ordered a few dresses for Easter/family pictures and they came last night. I tried them on and I just feel like a beached whale in both of them--and now I don't want to take family pictures which sucks because I really want some more pictures of us as a family of 3 before we have the new baby.

I hated carrying a big diaper bag (also hate large purses), so I got a small messenger one from Lands End and used that as a diaper bag/purse.

We switched from a big shoulder-strap diaper bag to a backpack and I LOVE it. We won't go back. But it is still dedicated. FWIW, I do know many people who take a few essentials and throw them into their large purse. When my daughter was tiny we needed way more stuff than that for her formula and incessant pooping (and pooping out of diapers) needs. Now we can travel light.

The thing that's nice about a dedicated diaper bag is that it can go with LO. In my case, church nursery, grandparents, gym childcare, etc.
If it's just me and DS, I just have a diaper, disposable changing pad, wipes, and a few toys in my purse. I keep a backup outfit in the car.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!

I got rid of mine when 1st baby was 5 months because I hated it. I just carry a cute tote bag as my purse and toss in a few baby items when I need them. I can see how you might prefer to have one if you bottle feed? Even then I think you could still get away without one if you wanted, at least when baby's a little older and doesn't constantly eat and poop.
@MamaNicoleof3@Lilwatz@Huskerfanz@Emztron500 Thank you ladies! That all makes sense. Maybe I'll just repurpose one of our many backpacks and roll with that. Yes to bottles after the baby goes into daycare.
@fishwife799 Hey- I've not been able to catch up on this ENORMOUS thread becuase I've been giving seminars for 2 days straight- but I am up for a labour pairing, if at all possible!
Due June 21st, live in the SW USA- second birth and likely another C-Section, if someone wants a pal like me.
@kwife15 I'm looking for an organizer insert to put inside an existing tote I already have. There are a few on Amazon that i found. They even have their own strap so if you wanted to take it out and leave it with inlaws, etc you can.
I can't stop looking at real estate listings for houses. All the ones I'm lusting after are listed for 3-4x what my apartment is appraised at and I'm poor and about to have a baby. But I want them, goddammit. Someone want to spot me a few hundo thou?
@kwife15 - we found a nice Jeep backpack diaper bag that looks super functional, my husband won't mid carrying and we'll be able to use for multiple functions (I'm pretty sure what makes it a "diaper bag" is it has a section where you can load wipes and be able to access the wipes easily from the outside of the bag).
@lunagrl79 I'm here! I'm waaay behind because I was traveling this week and not reading TB. I'm leaving again in a few hours to hang with my mom for a weekend so I'm sure I'll be a little behind again. Looking forward to catching up more soon! I'm almost caught up on the ransoms thread and have to start everything else.
I got to meet @sdLindenberg while in San Diego, it was so cool!

That's the reason we have one too, each kid is required to have their own bag at the YMCA. We have a backpack diaper bag that I'm very happy with. If it's just me and DS1 I only carry my purse since he's 3 and potty trained. With DS2 I just throw a few things in my purse and keep back up items in my truck.
I just went to my local USA McDonalds and they did not have the cadbury easter egg mcflurry so I settled for 2 large fries, a large strawberry milkshake and an m&m mcflurry. Umm, gross. One fry would have been enough and the two sugar bombs were not great tasting- but it's been years, so I didn't remember that.
Now I have to go teach supervisors how to deal with and avoid discrimination and bullying in their work groups.
I generally get annoyed when I see Facebook posts that say things about husband's being their wives biggest child...
and then I wake up at 2am to pee and mine is running around our apartment with a virtual reality helmet he got with his new phone and trying to convince me, in my half slumber, to put it on. I am reminded of this because he just text me to see if I was coming home during lunch so I could try on his helmet. Now I get it. I married an 8 year old.
Re: Weekly Randoms go here...
@ahernandez16 Soooo glad everything is fine. That poor 41 weeker. I'd die of emotion. Die.
@crdo well HAIIII back! I pmed you and @HBamama2B last night in my fit of excitement.
Although i was 41+5 when induced with DD. It wasn't that awful....going overdue, I mean. Not the induction....that sucked.
@msbeachnj - I PM'd you last night because I was so excited to have a birth buddy. I will happily slow my roll if you tell me to...
thanks @fishwife799 for setting this up
for everyone.
@ahernandez16 glad everything is ok. I feel bad for the 41 weeker too.
@hollywoodave531 that sucks. Hope you manage to get that done quickly and easily.

in semi-related news- my arm and ass cheek are still sore from the TDaP and Rhogam.
