I am convinced tummy time was invented to make mothers feel inadequate!

    Joking...sort of.

Yes I question myself daily with her progress

  • My LO does pretty good doing tummy time on the boppy and holds head up for few seconds but when I try and do it on a mat with no pillow, face plant type, she loses it and doesn't seem to move her head at all. She definitely is not even close to rolling either (11 weeks). Anyone else seeing this? I try and do tummy time couple minutes through out day but I have no idea how I can get her to do fifteen minutes per day

Try lowering the incline first? Use a rolled up receiving blanket instead of the boppy so she's not propped up as much but also not flat on her face. Maybe then you can get her to do it with no propping shortly after that.

Also my LO is 10.5 weeks and has no interest whatsoever in rolling over. I'm not worried about it. It's a 4 month goal for them to roll over so there's still time. My little man is already strong willed and does what he wants when he wants. (I'd tried for weeks to get him off the nipple shield then one day last week he decided he was over it and wouldn't latch with it. He's only latch to my bare nipple whereas before he'd refuse to latch without the shield)

12 weeks here and can't roll over either. I'm not worried. Every baby progresses at their own pace.
  • I tried the face plant and she just rolls her head to the side and lays lol! Kids more stubborn than me which is saying a lot

Rolling over early can actually be a bad sign (abnormal reflexes/cerebral palsy). So the 4 month mark is what should be expected!

I did not know that! That makes me feel better
  • I'm in no hurry for my LO to start rolling. All 4 of my boys have been born with great head strength an they roll from stomach to back very easily with in the first month. they grow up so fast I don't push it!! My 2nd son was not in a hurry his first 6 months to do much moving, my first was a mover and was crawling at 4m and my 2nd crawled at like 7/8m But both were walking at 10m.
IMO no rush if their muscles have some strength to them.
