@ButterMyBiscuit Yes! They are military and police dog grade zip up fleeces. They also have coats and booties for the snow. I took them home for the holidays once with the knit sweaters you can get at the pet store and they both got cold injuries (they only go out to potty), so we researched and upgraded. I know people think clothes on dogs is crazy, but my pups won't go out in the cold without them. Edited to add that my dogs also wear seatbelt harnesses in the car. 50 to 65 lbs projectiles in case of a car accident is enough of an argument for their use for me!
^See that makes me feel like a bad pet parent, I don't strap mine in, they get confined to the trunk.

Not intended to make anyone feel bad.  The drivers here in the Bay are absolutely awful and the risk for car accidents is very high.  Also, my dogs are way more likely to fly forward from the back seat than yours are from the cargo/trunk compartment (I don't have a hatchback, just a traditional sedan), and 65 lbs of dog hitting someone in the back of the head is enough to cause "internal decapitation".  You do you, boo boo.  No judg(e)ment here.

  • @SparkySunshine I loved that for "I had sex last night", I wish I had the energy (and the stomach) for it! My poor husband! :(
  • There's also a thread on another board about our UO thread yesterday. Apparently, what one person said made someone condemn our entire BMB.

Jeez. Making waves so early, ladies.

I'm just having fun, same as you guys.

Come on @buttermybiscuit now you gotta tell us where!

Eta, nm think I found it, although I didn't see them condemn the whole bmb so maybe it's the wrong post.

I understand why OP is upset but the poster from yesterday was flamed and the post was indeed in an UO thread so it is what it is..

And she said the posts made her uncomfortable - not that someone shouldn't post it. And "several women" did not say the same.

Huh, it was my understanding that the person who posted the original offending comment got her ass handed to her, not that we all cheered on her idea.  Maybe my reading comprehension skills are lacking?

  • Wow. As someone who has had a miscarriage I do not usually read very many of the loss threads because it stresses me out, and I'm already stressed out enough just trying to get through the first trimester with twins, but people have every right to post goodbye threads- it's a scary, heartbreaking time, and if that's even giving those ladies even a small outlet, so be it.

I'm sad for them, and for the people who it annoys. I hope and pray they won't one day have to experience a loss. I think that's why though I do like a lot little sarcasm and snark, and can easy dish it and take it, I try to be careful that I'm being somewhat sensitive to others. Everyone has a different story, a different trigger, a different life, and I really do think we should focus less on who and what pisses us off and focus a little more on other things.

That's just me though. I get that people need an outlet, but I think people really need to start thinking more before they post some things. I have no problem with this board- except the excessive gif use gives me a headache (;)), but I have  a pretty thick skin, and some people just don't.
  • Meh---it's an UO.  The person who posted the original "inflammatory" comment knew that it wasn't something "nice to say."  That's why it went in UO, and not just as a stand alone comment.  It's not like she posted under someone's loss thread "Stop posting this!"
  • FFFC #2: sometimes I only click on topics to see the gifs. Can we have a gif party everyday??? I'm a gif whore. I still lurk on TTGP purely for this reason.

I really don't feel bad about sticking my dogs in the trunk, I just found what you said interesting about the 5 point harness. Made me think about what if someone hit my car in the back.

  • Well I think the UO thread is stupid. Someone's always going to be offended when people say offensive shit- then they are offended that someone's offended when they clearly put this in the "no offense, but here's something super offensive" thread.

    ***Lurking***

Hey, if it makes you guys feel any better, the June board was flamed pretty early on also. Apparently some of us were big a-holes and others didn't like it. So the June board was deemed as too snarky and not very friendly.
So, in your opinion, did the snark run out the sensitive folks or did the sensitive folks ban-war the snark?  I can't live without the snark (I'm not great at it myself, but I sure appreciate it).
  • @PinkLady2015 I read the directions.  I tried to gif.  I failed to gif.  I accept my inadequacy, hence, my simple siggy.
  • Hey. I'll admit. I fudged up guys. I make a comment about June BMB early on that I should have thought through better because I didn't quite mean it how it read. I learned my lesson and moved on. At the same time, I got my boogie handed to me for my comment from July BMB and became a better person for it. Tough love works guys.

The grammar on this board is deplorable, and I judge those who don't use the correct form of their/there/they're, to/two/too and so on. Don't mean to be a judgey mcjudgerson, but this is basic grammar.

Just had a slight Facebook debate about why everyone was upset that the girl said "conversating" in The Wiz last night. Because it's not a word and you sound stupid saying it!! can forgive spelling errors and slang, but not bad grammar.

I've never heard of elf on the shelf, but apparently my phone has...

My confession: I am MILKING this pregnancy ALREADY!! Oh well.

Can I just say I'm really confused about this whole thing. Someone on here got offended in the post that allows people to get offended and be offended and argue and then went to another board and said things about us to that other board? Because I thought that was a no no.

Edit to add, I really thought the having to be married before babies thing was way more offensive.
Just an fyi, this post offends me.  It will offend me if you are offended by the fact that I am offended.
I'm offended that you find my question offensive, so I'm going to find a offensive gif to illustrate how I feel just to let you know how much higher my offensive level is than yours.

From the picture you posted I think they would be just fine; bumps, bruises, and other non-preventables that they (or my belted pups) would get regardless (because accidents freaking hurt!).  They are probably just so happy they get to go on a ride with mom! :)

Wow, someone posted a whole thread about my UO. I feel so special.

It's an unpopular opinion. I thought that was the point. I didn't say don't post about miscarriages I just hate reading them. And...I have a right to my opinion. I have known women who had miscarriages, they all deal with it in their own way. I personally, wouldn't post about it on an Internet forum...Me, I would rather seek comfort from my loved ones than some strangers on the Internet. Everybody is different and has their own opinions on the matter.

Btw, I didn't get my "ass handed to me" and I still stand by my original comment. There was one day where there were 4 threads of women who lost their babies. It's incredibly sad to read, especially when you've seen those women post in other places. So, yes, I hate reading them...but I still do. And each time my heart still goes out to those woman.

ETA: removed "get a grip ladies" it wasn't directed at you crazy Disney lovin' SOB's (I kid, I kid)
  • It should just be understood that people will disagree, and that's okay. It's even in the TOU...

I haven't figured out how to Mobile gif... If you're on a computer it's as simple as copy and paste, just make sure you get the cursor in the right spot and then make sure to hit enter or space a few times after or below the gif.

I'm more upset that someone felt the need to go talk about something that happened on this bmb to another one. Makes me think they needed someone to hold their hand tell them everyone in the world isn't so snarky.
