I'm not asking your opinion on the names.

Marlowe Etta Proudly (not real last name)

Do these names flow together?

Re: 2 syllables?

  • I think you need a middle name that doesn't start with a vowel.

  • It doesn't roll off the tongue easily for me it's not an issue of it being a vowel though to me because example Marlow Elaine flows fine to be. I just think they both are a bit harsher of names so combined it's not great. Etta in general is hard in the middle I think.

This. I might go with a middle name that's a bit longer to round out the flow.

  • I think a single syllable first name would sound with the last name. Also agree that the middle name shouldn't begin with a vowel.
  • I also think the first and middle names and up sounding like one word..."Marlowetta"
    BabyGaga
  • Off topic: Is the E on the end on purpose?
And personally- people aren't going to be calling her Marlow Etta Proudly all her life and mashing them together. So if you like it, go for it.
  • Because Etta is used as a feminine ending on names, it sounds like Marlowetta instead of Marlow Etta.

This. Nothing wrong with either name, but the flow is weird.

  • I think they work together nicely. Since the sound is low, the e in Etta is fine. It isn't two of the same sounds blending together.

I agree but it's not unpleasant to hear or awkward to say. If you're ok with this (because it's accurate) then keep it.
  • The flow is a little off (it blends into Wetta) but I don't think that's a deal breaker.

  • It's fine. Not like Lucy Mae where you might use the middle name routinely. The only time we usually use middle names is when someone's in a lot of trouble or when Comcast customer service is being dicks and absolutely *has* to make sure I'm the actual account owner, apparently...
