Ava was at the top of my list if we have a girl. I mentioned the name to my sister and she giggled. She said, "Haven't you ever heard, 'I'm going to wash Ava?'" Ummmm, no. According to her, Ava stands for anus, vagina, armpits. I have NEVER in  my life heard of this but now I cannot get it out of my mind! So...Ava is off our list. Have you guys ever heard that??

Ava is a lovely name but my concern with it is that your daughter will be one of 10,000 little girls named Ava in any given situation. You may want to consider another name just for that reason.

Thanks yall! My sister is about to be 40 years old. I think she was just trying to be spiteful and ugly to me. I don't think we'll go with Ava just because it is becoming so popular. Glad to know I'm not the only one who had never heard of that! LOL

I love the name Ava, popularity be damned. I already used it on my dog though, so I don't think we will be using it on any of our our children.

I will say, between my classes last year I had 6 girls named Ava, which is more than enough reason for me to never use the name.
