Isla with Eli?

Isla was my girl name for my first pregnancy, but we had a boy and named him Eli. Is Isla to close to Eli to consider this time around?

It doesn't matter to me that they match.  It does matter that you'll likely never be able to get the right words out of your mouth when you're calling them for dinner.

I think it’s ok. If Eli is short for Elijah though I would not do it. For some reason those sound more similar to me.

So parents mix up their kids' names all the time. Especially when they're yelling for them or feeling frustrated. And I can foresee the day when you bluster "Isli... no.. Eela! no.. damn it... YOU! Get out of the street!"
