It hurts like hell and I wanted to avoid epidural but I think I need it
Okay? So get one. Not sure what you're wanting here....?
Yep. Hope you have a safe delivery, but...??????
I'm so beyond lost in why you would be on tb (or your phone at all) during labor. I'm going to be giving birth to my 6th and can say with complete honesty that my phone was no where on my mind during any of my labors. Hope it all goes good but seriously smh.

Yes, yes, same here. I think TB will be the farthest thing from my mind...no offense guys.
So is it sad that I was on my phone quite a bit while in labor? I wasn't in intense pain until later on so for awhile I just played games and looked up baby names to pass the time!

No.
Except OP says it "hurts like hell" so that is a little sad. I'm hoping my hospital has wifi so we can watch Netflix at the beginning of labor before I have to use some pain management/coping techniques!

THIS. It sounded to me like she was seeking OUR advice when she's surrounded by doctors. If you trust your docs that little, you should probably get to another care center. Idle chit chat is not something you do when you're in the kind of pain I've been told to expect.
When I hurt like hell during my labors I don't think I could have even held my phone in my hand. What on earth are you doing? If you want the epidural, get it! I'm sure you'll feel much more like updating TB then …

Oh btw I wasn't WK for her, I was just making a joke, I know it's pretty hard to read subtext on the interwebs! I used my phone as a way to cope and manage pain until it got crazy hard, then I switched to an epidural . Also I wish I could have had Netflix, that would have definitely helped me relax!

It is hard. though it might be even harder for me because I've reached that glorious "i'm sleeping 2 hours a night!" stage of 3T so my brain is mush at the best of times at this point.
I actually have friends that will update their labor and dilation on facebook..then post naked pictures of their newborns. O_o I thought it was weird. When I was in labor, I was nowhere near my phone..even after I got epidural.
Even if she's had her baby already...SERIOUSLY?! I haven't even came close to labor yet. But when I get my Braxton Hicks contractions, AND the thunder crotch going on, I immediately drop my phone on my bed and freeze up for a few seconds. And that's just my body doing the prep work! :-\

So I delivered last week. If you have to even ask, you didn't need one yet. Because it means you still understand and can use human language beyond "omgrrrrrbltrdhskthtbh! Fuckkkkkrrrtughttjsksjt!" And "please mix heroin in with that".
It hurts like hell and I wanted to avoid epidural but I think I need it
Let me make sure I got this right...
You're in labor and it hurts like hell (obviously). You don't want an epidural but think you need it. Obviously the best solution is to post on TB about it instead of asking for an epidural on focusing on giving birth to your DS/DD. (Your decision)
WHAT?!?!
In all seriousness though, hope the delivery went well and your baby is healthy.

Good luck on your delivery but this is a community not a personal blog.
