Ladies, forgive me if this has already been brought up. I used the search function and didn't find what I was looking for. Are any of your OB's asking if you want to be induced at 39 weeks? DD was 8lb13oz so I'm thinking he's just offering because I have bigger babies. (I went into labor on my own with her at 39weeks 2days). My due date is the 7th and he asked if I wanted to go for the 3rd. For those of you that already have multiples, have you went into labor on your own vs. being induced & which did you perfer & why? I'll be getting an epidural so even though I know contractions are more intense with an induction I'm not sure that will matter much for me.
Re: Inductions
This seems fairly common practice at least in the area I live. 2 of my friends who had babies this year were induced at 39weeks and another friend scheduled her c-section for 39.
You've made it to 39 weeks, another week is nothing compared to that!
So unless there is medical reasons that prevent baby from cooking any longer then let the baby come on its own
All that said - I've had three inductions, two with pitocin and one without. Two with epidurals and one without. I've always wanted a spontaneous labor experience and I have to say pitocin sucks sucks sucks. My advice is if you're getting an epi, do it before they break your water (unless they are breaking it way early for some reason). After that, it's hard to sit still long enough for an epi with those drugs on board making your contractions come close together. I have my induction experience this time around posted in the birth/contraction thread and several others have posted induction stories as well so you can get a feel for what that is like vs your natural labor experience.
Wishing you a healthy, safe delivery regardless of which way you go into labor!
That said, I'm miserable enough to want another induction but curious enough to hope I go into labor on my own this time. Best of luck to you!!
ETA: My first swallowed meconium and had to be worked on for a half hour as soon as she came out. There is no likely or unlikely that it could happen with this baby, too, but this does affect my decision on whether to be induced at 40 weeks or not. I don't want to wait too long and have the same, or worse (him inhaling instead of only swallowing like DD did), happen.

@Bombmom3 at my 20 week anatomy scan she was measuring big, though unfortunately I can't remember her percentages. They were not crazy above average though, just a little. I think the biggest one was mid seventies. I have not had a growth scan since then! When he measures my belly I'm always right where I should be though. I do feel like she's smaller than DD, maybe right around the same... I don't know if that has anything to do with her positioning either though. She just feels smaller. I will definitely check out your birth story & look over the thread. Thank you for your input & congrats on your LO!
My last appointment I was 37w1d, only dilated 1cm and about 50% effaced. Was really hoping to be farther along than that being so close. I go in tomorrow, so we'll see where I'm at but I soooo want him to come and not need the induction.
