3rd Trimester

Just wondering...

I'm 32 weeks and sometimes the way the baby is moving around in there I have sharp pains 'down there'. I was just wondering if that's normal since I'm this far along and everything.

Re: Just wondering...

  • It's probably lightening crotch or baby pushing on your cervix, depending on where "down there" is that you're describing.

  • I never heard of lightning crotch before. Lol. I just looked it up and yes it feels like that. It's like it's inside my vagina like a stabbing pain kind of like she's already trying to pop her way out. Lol
  • Yea, it's fun when you're out shopping and feel it.
My little girl likes to press on my cervix and that's also an interesting pain that can make you drop something.
  • Yeah. I've been at home whenever it happens. The first time it did it freaked me out a little because I have a lot of discharge and it like poured out. (Tmi sorry) lol. I thought I was going to go into labor but I didn't have any other pains or anything.
  • I've been having the same feeling every once in awhile. My Dr said it's normal at this time since baby is moving farther down.
  • Some days I feel like my LO is using my cervix as a punching bag. It gets seriously uncomfortable at times!

  • Well as long as it's normal right? Lol. It is very uncomfortable but unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it which sucks. I can't wait to have her though.
  • I'm 32 weeks too and have been occasionally getting this for a few weeks now. It's especially apparent after long periods standing up. Being upright forces baby down due to gravity, and I'm also carrying him very low, so occasionally I get a movement from him right in the cervix which is extremely uncomfortable! I was also diagnosed with a 'friable' cervix which as far as I can tell basically means fragile and prone to bleeding, so I wondered if babys weight and pressure on it are aggravating it a bit. TMI but I also had thrush high up around the cervix which can make it painful and sore, maybe get checked for it.
  • I'm carrying very low too which is uncomfortable all on its own from the baby's weight putting pressure on everything. I told my doctor I'm having Braxton hicks and shortness of breath and those sharp pains and he didn't seem worried about it. He said it's probably the way she's moving around or lying on a nerve making it feel that way or something and told me to make sure I'm staying hydrated for the Braxton hicks.
  • Oh fun. I had lightening crotch with my first and now again with this baby. its not fun
  • It's not fun at all but I have to say it is better than morning sickness (which I still have).
