Im pretty excited. I have my 6 week pp check Tuesday and hoping to get the all clear for working out. In the mean time i have my new fit bit and will be walking with LO starting tomorrow. Im a little.nervous on workouts since i had a csection. But excited to start slow! What workout are you all doing?

Re: whos exercising?

  • I have been doing 'In home' workouts, I haven't made it to the gym yet.. But when we left the hospital my Dr said that I didn't have any exercise restrictions.. So

  • I started walking and light yoga at four weeks.  After my six week appointment I switched to running and weight lifting.  I'd like to run another half-marathon next summer, and it helps to have something to work toward.  For my weight lifting program, I follow the New Rules of Lifting for Women.
  • I just got the all clear today at my appointment and would've gone to the gym today but I had an iud put in and I'm a little crampy from it. We're supposed to have snow and major winds most of the day tomorrow that will probably also keep me from the gym. But as soon as SO gets home from work on Wednesday I'm gone! I'm doing a lot of cardio stuff and will be easing back into weight training since I haven't done much since I was about 6 mos along. I can't wait I'm so restless!

Up until now it's been lots of long walks and extra trips up and down the stairs. I'm already within 5 pounds of my weight but I'm just getting a little stir crazy. We're also getting ourselves an elliptical at home for Christmas which will be great for during the day since I fail at the "sleep when she sleeps" plan.

I also fail at the sleep when she sleeps. There is sooo much that has to get done and thats the only time i can do it . We have an exercise bike so ill start that. But really looking forward to my jillian michaels videos and the gym. Im 4lbs away from prepregnancy weight but want to lose about 25 exta (was not at my ideal before baby).
Ive also heard about T25..anyone know this?

    ETA:hit post too soon
  • At 4 week pp I still have 20 lbs to go! Feels like I'm never getting back my body :( Until my clearance to really exercise I've been walking. I'm flirting with the idea of hopping on the elliptical and taking it real easy since I won't be able to go outside for a walk this week. Anyone struggling with weather and going outside restrictions with baby?

  • @rms924 I feel the same way I was super active before pregnancy and throughout my entire pregnancy I still went to the gym, I thought the weight would just slide right off it hasnt. I tried to hit the gym a week ago and I just started bleeding again so I figured I need to hold off. But it's starting to get to me I miss my toned body

@jburrell13 yessss! I can't believe I used to complain hahaha! Can't wait to get back to the gym and do my usual. I'm still tender so I want to give myself the extra 2 weeks. I find that I bleed if I move around too much too :/

My dr says it's fine at 2 weeks pp if you feel ok. That's what I've done both pregnancies. Obviously with second degree tears both times there are things I modify (like shallower squats) and didn't do until later (running at 5 weeks pp), but do what you're comfortable with! I had my 6 week checkup yesterday and went for a run before it and felt great!

ETA: I agree on the bleeding other posters have mentioned. It's a good indicator if you've pushed too hard, so be mindful of that as well.

  • I'm two weeks post partum after having a c section. Somehow I lost 30 lbs and I'm back down to my pre pregnancy weight. My question is how do I get rid of this loose skin?? Where i live I can't really walk. I don't have anyone to watch my son while I go to the gym. I'm at a loss! I'm also not very athletic. I can eat healthy, but exercise for me is walking lol I thought about walking around our mall a couple of laps with him in the stroller, but the weather where Im at is so crappy and everyone seems to be sick. Not ideal conditions for a newborn :/
  • If you have the soace i reccomend jillian michaels 30 day shred video. Its brutal. .i swear at her the whole time. But it works!
  • In my head I exercise ALL the time! I think about it... I pull out the DVD's... Then I find a reason not to, lol. It's so hard to work out NOT in a class or at least even a gym setting! Getting my gym ID this weekend, though, at which point it will be "hello cardio!" But since we got home from the hospital we have been going on lots of 3 mile walks with the carriage and baby and finding any excuse to run errands and get out and moving.
