I prefer Anneliese, but everyone on here always comments that that makes them think of "Anal ease" so probably won't get better responses.

I think of the Annalee (sp?) figurine collection which I can't stand because my MIL loves them. Lol. It is not a bad name just causes tension with me.

Sorry, my first thought was Anal-lee. Anna by itself is nice but then you get the Frozen connection. I would say Annalise or Annabelle.

My daughters middle name is Annalee after my mom and MIL (names Ann and Lee) so I see no problem with it It isn't pronounced like anal and I don't see anal at all (If it was spelled Analee, then yea...). I think it's beautiful

Yeah, but there is a difference when using something as a FN and MN. Our kids have family MNs. We love that they have meaning and honor people we love, but we weren't fans enough of them to use them as FNs. Plus, Annalee is a hybrid name. Again, fine for a MN, not so much for a FN.

I personally like the name Annabell much better, but my boyfriend loves the name Annalee. It reminds me of the episode of family guy where quagmire names his daughter annalee.. and I swear everytime he said it, I would think of anal-lee. So I thought I would ask for opinions.
If we have a boy I picked the name, and he's picking a name for a girl. Hopefully I can convince him to go with Annabelle or something lol

If you don't like the name... it should be off the table. Same if he doesn't like Annabelle. Personally, I find the "he picks/she picks" thing a bad idea. You should both agree on a name.

I cannot hear the name 'Anna Lee' (or your choice, Annalee) without thinking of the episode of Family Guy when Quagmire names his daughter Anna Lee .....with the innuendo that it's 'Anally".
I personally just see the 'Anal' in it. Anna is beautiful, though.

I didn't see Anal in it. After others mentioned it I saw annal as in the annals of time.

I can't think of any man who would think his daughter being called "Anally" is a great idea... and if a bunch of grown women (I'm assuming) are thinking it, middle school aged boys are going to have a field day! He's probably not considering that just yet.

Besides your other options people have mentioned, I knew a little Hawaiian girl named Onnalee. It was pretty. Avoids the anal thing.

I think if your BF's reasoning is he likes it because of a Family Guy episode, then it should be vetoed.

He just generally likes the name. He actually didn't think of the family guy episode. I did lol. I mainly just wanted to see if I was the only one who got anal out of the name.

This name reminds me of that Family Guy episode, where Quagmire names his Daughter AnnaLee, and her NN is Anal. I just can't get over the fact that AnnaLee, is waaaay too close to Anal. Though, I do like the name Anna Claire, that a PP suggested.
