1st Trimester

When did you start showing?

I'm 7weeks and the few people that I've told are telling me I'm starting to show or if I havent told them, they are guessing. I think I'm just bloated! Do some people just show early or could I be farther along?

I'm trying to see into your uterus to check whether you are further along than seven weeks. Unfortunately I can't say for sure :(

definitely this. my x-ray vision doesn't seem to be working. cant say how far along you are. however, i will say that if you're a FTM, it is definitely bloat. most FTM's dont show until some time in the 2nd tri. for me personally, it was 18 weeks.
  • Well I'm almost seven weeks and I like to think I'm looking cute and pregnant... Just kidding that's what I tell myself but it's just bloat and I just look fat. I'm a pretty small person (5'4") and had a wonderfully flat stomach before pregnancy. Even though this isn't my first time I can honestly say anyone at this point is just bloated. The baby is the size of a pea for Pete's sake.
  • Of course it would be nice if it was a cute little belly already lol. I'm pretty small myself so I think the chubbiness is making people think they are seeing something.
  • It really would be awesome I agree!! Sadly it usually doesn't happen until later and until then we just get to hang out in bloatsville and eat our saltine crackers!
  • 7 weeks it is most certainly bloat.  My belly continued to look like bloat until around week 22.

  • I was all bloat until 12 weeks then it started to look like an actual bump. It wasn't super obvious until about 15 weeks or so.

That said I'm not even 6 weeks and I'm so bloated I'm rocking the maternity jeans more often than not. It is what it is. Who cares?

It was somewhere around 23 weeks before my bump looked like an actual bump and not just chub. Even now at 31 weeks and some days I can still suck in my stomach some. I should probably lay off the sweets *shrug*

Nice to see you over here, congrats!

And don't say no to the maternity pants. I tried for awhile. Then once I embraced them, I asked myself why I waited so damn long.

No love handles and no belt needed so really... why haven't I been doing this since high school?

If I can plug some of my favorites- the Old Navy side-panel ones are really glorious for before you have a bump but can't tolerate the real pants.
  • I'm a FTM and just hit 11 weeks today. I'm bloated for sure but haven't actually gained any weight. I like to pretend it's a baby bump though ;)
  • I'm a First Time Mom, and mine was all oat until about 23-25 weeks, if I remember correctly. I'm 34 weeks 4 days now. But I do believe it sll depends on the person. Usually, First Time Moms take longer to show than second, third, fourth, etc. time moms.
  • I'm a FTM too and at 12 weeks I'm still bloated, there might be a TINY little itty bitty bump, but the rest is bloat. I'm definitely more bloated in the evenings than in the morning. In the morning my tummy is nice and flat like it was before I got pregnant. lol You definitely just have bloat.

  • Im a FTM and my bloat didnt change to bump until about 18 weeks. Now at 22 weeks its still only small but the shape and feel of it has made me realise that i was still pretty boated until about 20 weeks. I for sure thought i had a bump at 10 weeks but i was very wrong haha. There is no wrong time to buy maternity clothes though, comfort is key. Just be prepared that if you buy them really early you may end up needing to buy more if you put weight on anywhere but your belly.
  • FTM I started to really show at 16 weeks. Prior to that it was a cute bundle of poop and gas that I was hiding in my yoga pants.

It's all bloat until 12 weeks and even then only you will probably notice any difference.... Barely.
I am a size 4 and didn't show noticeably to strangers (at least enough to where they were comfortable to ask) until around 25ish weeks.
    ETA grammar
  • Around 14 weeks I started to have a little more than what looked like a few extra slices of pizza. Around week 22 friends and family commented I "actually look preganant." But not til 30 did strangers feel comfortable asking what the gender is and when I'm due.
  • Honestly I was a naive FTM and mistaked my bloat for showing early on, even if it was hard as a rock. I'm 34 now and strangers didn't start commenting until about 28 weeks. Some people just have small bellies I guess. My guess is you are just bloated, the bloat is real! But sooner or later you'll get your bump.
  • Yes baby might be tiny but don't forget your UTERUS gets big quickly too, so it can't all be bloat ladies!

    We didn't forget. It's bloat.

Yep. It may be getting big, but it is still a pelvic organ until 12 weeks.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • First baby, I didn't show till ehhh 6 months... My second I had a perfectly round baby bump at 16 weeks. Excited to see when I'll show this time around.
  • It's bloat. I didn't look actually pregnant until 26-28 weeks.
  • I feel like I showed by 6 weeks with my third!! But the real bump wont be til later!! my tiny friend seems to show around 10 , but your uterus swells quickly so it may be! either way, people staring definitely makes you feel like it!!

  • At 7w it has got to be bloat. I have days where I feel like I look that way too but I know it is just bloat and it goes down the next day.
