Ovidrel - Side Effects?

Hi ladies.  I triggered Friday night, 11/6 with Ovidrel and shortly after trigger I started getting pretty bad nausea.  It's Monday now, had 2 IUIs done this weekend and I'm still feeling the nausea from the Ovidrel.  Any ideas or experiences with this side effect of Ovidrel?  If so, how long before the nausea went away for you?  Did you do anything that may help with it?

I know the trigger takes about 10 days or so to work itself out of our bodies for HPTs...silly question I guess but should I expect the side effects to last at least that long as well?  Thanks in advance for any input and experiences.

So far I haven't had bad nausea from Ovidrel (I've used 2x in 2 IUI cycles), more cramping/bloating, and usually the worst is over after a couple of days. I used SeaBands when I had bad nausea before, unrelated to any fertility meds. They are acupressure bands, and available at the drugstore. They helped me quite a bit.

  • @bsckgb7 No, I'm not taking Progesterone.  I did two separate rounds of Clomid (CD3-7 50MG; CD15-19 100MG) then triggered with Ovidrel CD23 and IUIs CD24 & 25.  No other meds, just prenatal vitamins.

  • Ovidrell can/will cause you to have "pregnancy symptoms"

It's an HCG shot so you'll sometimes get all those side effects. Hang in there it will get better
  • @didi0308 thanks for that info and the support

I know of the potential side effects, I'm just not sure how long the side effects for Ovidrel usually last past the trigger itself since this is my first go around with a medicated cycle (understanding too that some of the effects may continue if there is a positive result). I was hoping to see if anyone else had nausea specifically from Ovidrel and if they did anything that they found to help alleviate it some.

  • I've heard that prenatal vitamins can cause nausea for some.  I always take my vitamins at night, just in case (although I don't take prenatals).  Hope you feel better and GL!
