I'm currently 6w3d. I've been having cramping and general abdominal/pelvic discomfort on and off since week 3. This hasn't really concerned me too much yet but then last night I started having some brown spotting. Not a lot. Just a little bit when I wiped after peeing. I went to bed early so I wouldn't be up worrying and hoped it would be better in the morning.
I woke up this morning and had to pee. Nothing really when I wiped. Whew what a relief! But then a couple of hours later when I had to poop I wiped and saw bright red blood. There hasn't been enough to make it to my underwear yet. This reminds me of how my periods always start though. I always getting cramping and spotting starting later afternoon/early evening and then spot till the next day when I start bleeding. My periods are always really light; barely enough to need a pad. So what is going on is pretty consistent with what is normal for my body... when I'm not pregnant. Obviously, I'm freaking out. I'm terrified that I'm losing baby.
I called my doctors office but they told me that the doctor was busy and there weren't any nurses available to talk to me. They asked me to leave a number where I can be reached and told me they'd call me back sometime later today or tomorrow. I honestly don't expect much other than a standard answer of "it sounds fine don't worry" or "it sounds like you're having a miscarriage."
I'm an absolute emotional wreck. I would very much appreciate any thoughts and prayers y'all can spare.

Update: My doctor's office called back and said it was probably totally fine and due to hormonal changes. I'm now having moderate/severe cramping and period-like bleeding. I've also noticed that all of my pregnancy symptoms, few as they were, have vanished. I don't really have much/any hope left that this baby will be okay. I'm planning to give it another couple of days and try my best to hope for a good sign until things are definitive.
**Trigger warning** Final update: I started having severe cramping, worse than my normal menstrual cramps by far and heavy bleeding with clots. The cramping continued to get worse till I passed some globs of tissue and then the cramping started to ease up and the blood flow reduced to a light flow/heavy spotting. Now, the next day, I'm still bleeding and having some cramping. I haven't had my hCG levels checked yet to confirm hCG is falling but at this point I feel very sure I miscarried. Thank you everyone for all the kind words and the support. I enjoyed being on the birth month board with y'all for as long as I was here. I wish you all the very best with your pregnancies. I hope everyone has a happy and healthy 9 months with a beautiful and healthy take-home baby to show for it.

There are a couple of small, dark clots in the blood. Still hasn't made it to my underwear but...
My doctor called back and said "Any time there are hormonal changes you can have bleeding. It's probably fine. Call back again if it gets worse."

@RNMegan0711 I thought my doctor seemed very dismissive also. Having me come in for some blood work at least to make sure my hCG levels are okay and my progesterone is rising appropriately would have make me feel somewhat better. My husband was listening to the call also and, of course, he thought she was very wonderful and helpful. But I guess he thought I was calling for a pep talk (??) and not because I wanted them to do something.
@WinniethePoohsPants Since my doctor didn't feel the spotting/bleeding was cause for enough concern to have me come in for an ultrasound, labs or anything I'm left nervously waiting till my 8 week appointment Nov. 16th. My husband was at least able to get off work that day so he'll be able to go with me to the appointment. Then if it's bad news I have someone with me and he can drive me home and such. He seems cautiously optimistic that we'll get good news though. I'm of course still absolutely terrified.
