TTC After a Loss

Crying with period?

Hi Ladies,

I'm new here...been lurking on the boards since a mmc in September and this was our first cycle ttc post d&c.  Everyone telling me how fertile you are after your d&c totally got my hopes up and I'm pretty sure I was making up pregnancy symptoms in my head.  Now this morning I'm at work and I saw some spotting and started to cry in the bathroom stall. Is this totally crazy?  I feel like I'm going to cry every time I get my period now..

Best of luck to all of you ladies... this journey really isn't an easy one!

Re: Crying with period?

  • I cried the first few times I got AF after my D&E.  I had pregnancy symptoms every cycle for while.  My poor DH said, "you cry when you're pregnant and you cry when you're not..."  Yup. I don't anymore, though. Hopefully you'll get pregnant again before you reach the stage where you're used to BFN's. Good luck!

P.S.  I hate all the talk about how you're extra fertile after a loss.  I've had two losses and they screwed up my cycles for a while.

RE says the low egg count is likely causing my recurrent pregnancy loss. Less eggs results in more aneuploidy.

  • I'm sorry @JLB3045, everyone told me the same thing after my MC and it really got my hopes up, but I didn't even have signs of O after and it messed up my cycle.  Just know you're not alone!  A friend told me shortly after my MC she was pregnant and though I was happy for her, as soon as we got off the phone I sat on the ground and sobbed.  Sending big hugs your way!
  • Thank you ladies!!
  • I haven't even gotten AF but random things still make me cry. I feel like I have pregnancy symptoms as well - and that scares me. I think the crying is a symptom, and I've heard some women have pregnancy symptoms when AF comes for a few cycles after a loss. I'm not sure what it is, but a BFP scares me and so does a BFN. I wish you luck in whatever happens.

That's right...we cry all the time now.  BFN = cry, BFP = cry, WTO = cry, TWW = cry, Testing = cry, Period = cry, No Period = cry .....it is such an emotional roller coaster. I am pretty sure my husband was 100% over it within a week.  Which is great for him but starting to think he is getting fed up with my mess.  I want him to understand that this is a part of me.  It will never go away completely.  A person died.  Our child died.  That is a tragic thought...and true.  Crying is warranted. :)
