Today I'm a week old! I'm being breastfeed and my mommy has a horrible cold. What medicine is okay to take while breastfeeding?

Definetly check with your doc. I *think* it's ok to take the meds that were safe during pregnancy but I don't really know.

I know Tylenol and Advil are ok because the hospital sent me home with those for my c section. Also Benadryl. They gave me that in hospital for itching

Thanks ladies, I called the doctor. Tylenol is okay to take.

Do NOT take Sudafed or any antihistamine. It will dry up any excess mucous or drainage, but will also dry up your milk.
