I got my call today from the lab with a report on how many of my embryos are still growing/frozen. All 5 are still growing, #1 is already frozen grade 4AB, #2 should be frozen tomorrow (is currently a 3AB) #'s 3-5 are still not at the blastocyst stage. The lab tech who called couldn't tell me the likelihood of them making it to blasts. She did say that they don't freeze anything that isn't at least a 3, preferably a 4. Anyone else know anything about that? I would think the other 3, since they are still growing, have the potential to be viable? I'm just happy we have something to transfer! Start shots tomorrow...

My RE told me that they give them til end of Day 6 to see if they make it to a high grade Blasts. After that she said they consider them not viable. How many days past ER are you?

I bet. waiting for results after my ER was so brutal because I only had 6 eggs retrieved. it was nerve wrecking... but my nurse kept saying "no news, is good news" so that helped me a little. I'm hoping tomorrow you get some more good news!

I had some disappointing news on Saturday. The lab called to say that my other 4 embryos did not make it. The woman who called was very terse and brief and in the middle of me figuring out what to ask, said "have a good day, bye". I feel like I should have gotten so much more information! I also just don't understand how my 3AB embryo goes from "going to freeze first thing tomorrow" to gone in 12 hrs. I can understand the other 3 that weren't growing as quickly, but for all 4 to just arrest and that's it? it doesn't seem to make sense. Maybe I'm just being over sensitive? At least I have 1 good quality frozen embryo for the FET and I'm trying to focus on that, after all it only takes 1 right?
And to top it off I have the WORST period of my life right now lol

I'm so sorry you got bad news on this weekend. You are definitely NOT being overly sensitive, what happened to your embryos is definitely something that needs to be discussed! I would call back and ask to speak with the RE or the Embryologist and find out what happened, you have every right to know. Make a list of all the questions you want answers to and don't let them off the phone until you get the answers you need. I'm glad you have your strong embaby waiting for you and your FET and I'm keeping my FX crossed and prayers up that all you need is that 1 and you will get your BFP.

Hey everyone. I'm on my last few days of BCP and then Lupron.. After the estrace and PIO they will transfer our last embryo from the last time they retrieved. Last IVF we transferred two that didn't stick. For those of you who have PIO in the works... There are some who did better than me with the pain. It hurt a lot for me. One of my butt cheeks is still hyper sensitive from the shots from a few weeks ago. That part gives me the most anxiety. You may find that it's not as bad as you think though. You can do it! I think we are thinking first or second week of December for the transfer. Wouldn't that be a great Cheustmas gift!!!! Looking forward to following your progress. @ShayLatrice .. Did the Lupron give you any side effects???
Whoo hoo!! The time is flying and we are getting closer!! I'm nervouse about PIO but thankfully I have 12 more days before I start it and 12 more days on Lupron. I got a few side effects from the Lupron, mainly headaches, exhaustion and hot flashes... oh and some bloating and excessive hunger. LOL. I've got 12 more days on it... but at least the dosage is lower so I'm hoping that means some of the side effects will go away. A BFP would be a great Christmas Present!!!

I start my estrogen (minivelle) patches tomorrow morning. Anyone done those? I think I start with 2 a day and work up to 4 a day. I talked to DH about the PIO shots last night. He asked if he could draw big circles on my butt indicating where he's allowed to inject. I laughed at first, but then thought "well if it makes him more comfortable..." So we'll be bringing a sharpie to that party too...

@halips ... It will be nice to have someone to wait impatiently with. Lol. Baking is a great idea!!!! I think I will do that too. I've done the patches. They are easy. Mine you just place them on your belly and replaced every couple of days. My biggest pain in the butt was the PIO. I'm excited for you!!!!
I am pretty excited to start Lupron tomorrow. Not because of the shot, but it means we are getting closer! I go back to the RE tomorrow for a check up and hopefully will have pinned down a date for the FET.
I'll be doing PIO injections and estrace vaginally 3 times a day.

I must say, for as manly as my hunter husband is, he enjoys them too! I am blessed It's not quite baseline for me, I still have one week left of the dreaded BCPs, boo! How long after the last pill does AF usually arrive?
So I stopped my BCP last Wednesday and I got AF on Saturday. I was told that it would be pretty bad but it wasn't... I barely had any cramps and I think it was more because at Acupuncture she was focused on making AF less painful and clotty.

I got AF 3 days after stopping BCP. The nurse told me 3-7 days is normal. I was also told mine would be really bad, it was flow wise but not a lot of pain. Maybe that is because of the acupuncture?!
DH and I were jsut talking about how our lives have changed in the last year and what has become the "new normal".Sometimes it's hilarious, other times sad.
Question about baby aspirin...Did your RE's put you on it or was it a personal choice? What dose do you take?

Well, it looks like a transfer on 12/15 is cutting it close. My nurse today said it all depends on how quickly my lining thickens up from the estrace. Considering mine is usually around 14 by the time I would have my IUIs, I'd imagine I'll have no problem. Hopefully! I told them I want the FET on 12/15 so I can have results for Christmas. I just know it's going to work! I am right there with you @halips, it's when, not if!)
I was so thankful for this 2 week reprieve on visits to the RE. My RE is about 50 minutes away and sometimes I was going 2-4 times a week. It is so crazy how our lives have changed!
My RE put me on the baby aspirin. Baby aspirin is 81 mg taken daily. It's a blood thinner that can lead to increased blood flow to the uterus and ovaries and can also prevent blood clots which can cause a miscarriage. I have been told that pineapple is a natural blood thinner so it is not recommended to take both. I have also been told that starting the day of transfer, don't eat or drink anything cold - room temp only. She also said that she did not eat anything raw that would take blood flow away from her uterus. So no raw veggies or foods that take a lot to digest. Finally she said, keep warm at all costs! Warm feet = warm uterus! This is going to do tricky for me considering I live in upstate NY and we will probably have snow!
Well, I am not sure how I am going to tell my DH this time. I had a miscarriage a few months ago and got him a cute shirt that said "be nice to me, my wife is pregnant!" It was really sad that he only got to wear it once. So, I am not sure how I am going to top that. Still thinking about it. Since we will find out on Christmas eve, It most likely will have to do with a present
Fx you get to transfer on 12/15! I totally know what you mean about the reprieve. One the days I have to see the RE I drive for about 2.5 hours, from home to office then back past home to work. But, the appts make me feel like things are moving forward, so it's oddly calming at the same time.
I'm going to ask my RE about the baby aspirin. I want to make sure I'm doing anything I can to make this bean stick! I also read the no cold/raw foods too. I've already made up a meal plan for the weeks after. I know, I have a problem... I'm eating avocado every day now too, I read a few studies that showed a correlation between women who became pregnant and eating at least 1/2 and avocado a day.
Along with more things I read and you mentioning not being cold...that right before the transfer you should use a hot water bottle or something like that on your lower abdomen. Apparently helps with blood flow? I live in Chicago area, and we are expected to have snow starting this weekend and temps anywhere from 30 down to the teens. We'll just have to bundle up!!
I will go for my beta on the 20th, so WHEN I get that BFP call, I'm going to try and keep it a secret until Christmas Eve. DH and I met playing online video games and he's still a big gamer, so I bought a onesie that says "Future Gamer" on it with a playstation controller image lol. I figured DH could open that

@halips Mine came 3 days later as well, seems 3 is the magic number. LOL My Acupuncturist has me on Baby Aspirin I've been taking it for like 9 months. Along with that I'm taking a prenatal vitamin... I held out for as long as I could but RE told me to start back. I was so tired of taking it and nor being pregnant that I just stopped it for a few months. I'm not sure how I will tell DH... He will be undergoing his own medical procedure in December so I'm really hoping for GOOD news to be able to tell him.
@amos1417 My RE is about 40 mins away from my home and I was driving out there 2-3 times per week. I'm definitely with you on loving having a break from seeing her. I won't see her again until the 27th!
I'm also doing the Castor Oil Packs, apparently those help increase blood flow and inflammation to the uterus.

Does anyone know what would happen if I stopped taking BCP one day early? I am considering this so that hopefully I can get in for baseline the day after Thanksgiving. It's insane how much this consumes me! Or if you don't actually know, what are your thoughts? Shouldn't hurt, right?!

How many days have you been on BCPs? I can't imagine it would hurt anything, but who knows. This next week will fly by because of the Holiday and before you know it, December will be here!!

Hmm it seems so trivial. I was never on BCP for more than 10 days at a time with cycles, but it may be because of having PCOS or the time frame btwn. It's totally whatever you are comfortable with! Hope AF comes soon for you!

I was just thinking about you this morning @ShayLatrice! I was thinking that you only have 10 more days to go, how excited are you?!
Last night on our way home from dinner with the in-laws DH decided we should settle on names for our future child(ren). He said that knowing me, having names picked out would help me settle down, because I would "talk" to my embaby like it was implanting and I was really pregnant. And you know less stress, higher chances etc etc. It was the sweetest conversation and I was overcome with this intense love for him. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through this with someone less supportive. It all kind of fell in place with that conversation and I am so, so excited for Dec. 9th! I have 16 days, and already I'm finding that I'm antsy. I can't seem to concentrate on one thing for very long and have been having vivid dreams about the whole process lol

@halips I don't know if I'm more excited or nervous. The closer I get the more nervous I get. I haven't been feeling well the last few days so I've been sleeping a lot. It just feels like my body is really over all these drugs... and unfortunately this is just the beginning because even though I will end Lupron on Friday I start progesterone and 2 more oral pills next week. Ugh...
I love that you and DH have started talking baby names, I felt that that was one of the things that made this process seem a tad bit more "normal" for us. Today you are 15 days away which is about when I started to get stir crazy... I kept dreaming about the FET and the 2WW.... I guess that must be a part of the process as well. LOL

I am pretty excited to start Lupron tomorrow. Not because of the shot, but it means we are getting closer! I go back to the RE tomorrow for a check up and hopefully will have pinned down a date for the FET.
I'll be doing PIO injections and estrace vaginally 3 times a day.
I'm a romantic at heart so I love all the Christmas movies on Hallmark. They definitely keep me occupied

Well, it looks like a transfer on 12/15 is cutting it close. My nurse today said it all depends on how quickly my lining thickens up from the estrace. Considering mine is usually around 14 by the time I would have my IUIs, I'd imagine I'll have no problem. Hopefully! I told them I want the FET on 12/15 so I can have results for Christmas. I just know it's going to work! I am right there with you @halips, it's when, not if!)
I was so thankful for this 2 week reprieve on visits to the RE. My RE is about 50 minutes away and sometimes I was going 2-4 times a week. It is so crazy how our lives have changed!
My RE put me on the baby aspirin. Baby aspirin is 81 mg taken daily. It's a blood thinner that can lead to increased blood flow to the uterus and ovaries and can also prevent blood clots which can cause a miscarriage. I have been told that pineapple is a natural blood thinner so it is not recommended to take both. I have also been told that starting the day of transfer, don't eat or drink anything cold - room temp only. She also said that she did not eat anything raw that would take blood flow away from her uterus. So no raw veggies or foods that take a lot to digest. Finally she said, keep warm at all costs! Warm feet = warm uterus! This is going to do tricky for me considering I live in upstate NY and we will probably have snow!
Well, I am not sure how I am going to tell my DH this time. I had a miscarriage a few months ago and got him a cute shirt that said "be nice to me, my wife is pregnant!" It was really sad that he only got to wear it once. So, I am not sure how I am going to top that. Still thinking about it. Since we will find out on Christmas eve, It most likely will have to do with a present

Does anyone know what would happen if I stopped taking BCP one day early? I am considering this so that hopefully I can get in for baseline the day after Thanksgiving. It's insane how much this consumes me! Or if you don't actually know, what are your thoughts? Shouldn't hurt, right?!

I was just thinking about you this morning @ShayLatrice! I was thinking that you only have 10 more days to go, how excited are you?!
Last night on our way home from dinner with the in-laws DH decided we should settle on names for our future child(ren). He said that knowing me, having names picked out would help me settle down, because I would "talk" to my embaby like it was implanting and I was really pregnant. And you know less stress, higher chances etc etc. It was the sweetest conversation and I was overcome with this intense love for him. I can't imagine what it would be like to go through this with someone less supportive. It all kind of fell in place with that conversation and I am so, so excited for Dec. 9th! I have 16 days, and already I'm finding that I'm antsy. I can't seem to concentrate on one thing for very long and have been having vivid dreams about the whole process lol
