Since you all have multiples too, figured I would ask. The babies have been extremely active up to this point and I've noticed a pretty big cut in activity over the last week. With previous babies, this didn't happen so early (I'm 29 weeks) but I wonder if they've just run out of room to make the big jabs? Anyone else notice less movement early in third trimester? Happening right when kick counts supposed to start :-/
@Aminafleming 3 weeks from tomorrow. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow!! @rah938 go to the doctor! I wouldn't necessarily worry, but for piece of mind you should go! Could just be they're having a growth spurt, but won't hurt to double check!
Both of you ladies hang in there! I can't imagine being in the hospital for an "undetermined" amount of time. T&Ps for healthy mommas and babies! My cervix is about the same, about 4mm longer actually (which is nothing says my specialist). @rah938 definitely worth mentioning the decrease. Mine have stopped moving so much too, but I think they have very very little room. Almost 9lbs of baby at 29 weeks. I'm absolutely miserable..
@rah938 my babies are moving less, the Dr said it's a combination of the steroid injections I had the other day and the lack of space for them to move. I feel more rolling/adjusting of positions of babies rather than kicks. But yes definitely worth mentioning to your Dr! Nothing is overreacting!
Anyone else having difficulties breathing? Yesterday and today I feel like I can't take a deep breath without pain. The Dr said it's because my uterus is measuring the same as a 40w singleton. Also little girl is up under my ribs. Finding it hard to get comfortable and to eat. Eating smaller frequent meals to try prevent reflux. The nurse propped me up in bed with heaps of pillows which has helped.
Hospital isn't too bad, I'm in the best place for the babies. It's actually easier to be on bed rest here than it is at home. There's no temptation to get up and do things, I don't have to make myself food and it's taken pressure off my husband.
@rah938 With my twins, movement seemed to increase right up until about 6.5 months, after which it pretty quickly decreased. I attributed it to less room, my dr wasn't concerned, and they were perfectly fine. Talk to your dr but that's probably what's going on. I had identical twins but they were di di and I'm petite so there was a lot of baby, fluid, etc, and not a ton of room. They were born vaginally at 35+1 when baby a got squished in my pelvis and broke her water, they were 4.5 and 4.25lbs, spent 3 days in NICU, and then came home. They're perfect now at 19 months.
Well. It looks like my arch nemesis, cholestasis of pregnancy, is back for the twins. I had with my second son and knew chance of recurrence was high but had hoped I wouldn't have it. It's only annoying itching for me but can affect babies, so they'll be watching them extra close now.
Had an eventful night...my water broke at about 9:30pm. Now I'm on IV antibiotics and just monitoring everything very closely. Babies still have a lot of fluid around them which is good. I'm hoping I can make it through until Monday so I will be 33w, but my Dr thinks I will deliver over the weekend. Babies are still breech and transverse so it will be a cesarean. Funny thing is, now I can breathe again since I've lost some volume!

Good luck! That's great that at least there is the positive of easier breathing!
Good luck @emmalc16!! Did they tell you why they think you'll go over the weekend? My water broke 10 days ago and with antibiotics and steroid shots I still haven't gone into labor!
@emmalc16 hold tight Momma you'll make it. Do you have one bag or two? Did both bags break? It's amazing how even though the bag breaks how Doctors still can keep the babies inside.
@JDBtwinmama I can't believe you're still going after 10 days! They didn't really have a reason for thinking I will deliver over the weekend. I think my Dr just has a feeling because everything has moved quite quickly. I'm hoping they can stay in as long as possible!
@Aminafleming I have two sacs and not really sure which sac broke. When we looked on the ultrasound this morning both babies still had quite a lot of fluid around them. It is completely amazing how babies can stay in despite water breaking!
Having some more complications just for fun. My blood test today showed my platelets have dropped dramatically low. So I'm going to get some steriods to help boost them and potentially an infusion of platelets. The problem with low platelets is that they are what makes your blood clot, which is not ideal when they're going to cut me open! It also means if they are still low when I do have a cesarean I won't be able to have an epidural, they will have to put me completely under so I won't see babies and my husband won't be in the operating theatre. I mean it will be sad not to see babies, but not really concerned about this, more concerned about excessive bleeding. Thank God we're in a great hospital with a great Dr!
@emmalc16 I'm thinking of you and your family! Just remember, as long as they get here safe the route doesn't matter! 32 weeks is a great place to be! I'll keep my fingers crossed for Monday for you!
Re: Multiple Mamas check in
How many weeks are you now? How much further to 34 weeks?
