Hi All!
I feel like we haven't had a check in in a while so here goes!
How are things progressing?
Anyone been asked any funny questions?
Increase in doctor's appointments?
Anything else?!
My fraternal twins seem to be doing great! I had an ultrasound Thursday at 28 weeks and baby girl weighed 2.10 and baby boy 2.9. I've been having fairly high blood pressure, but I think it had to do with travel this past weekend!
Someone asked me my due date, and when I said January, she said, how many are you having?! I thought that was really funny!
My doctor's appointments are going up to 3 weekly at 32 weeks. I've had two every other week and they would like to increase them. I'll have one ob check in, one nst, and one ultrasound.
The nursery is coming along well! The theme is Dr. Seuss and my sister made beautiful quilts for each baby!
Hope everyone is doing well! Rest up!
Re: Multiple Mamas check in
I'm 30 weeks now. Not having a great week! I had a repeat scan yesterday following my previous useless one 2 weeks ago. Babies are growing well, 3.3 and 3.1 pounds each. The little boy still has a 2mm VSD in his heart, but it has stayed the same size and his heart is pumping well. But, my cervix has shortened to 14mm (should be 30mm) meaning babies could come any day, I am on medication and modified bed rest. I have a follow-up scan monday and if my cervix has changed I'm getting admitted to hospital. I'm terrified about babies coming early, my doctor said she's hoping we can keep them in until the end of Nov. I cry every time I think about the tiny babies in NICU with tubes going everywhere. The babies are currently in breech and transverse so I'm likely to have a cesarean. Praying that babies stay in as long as possible!!
Babies are moving a ton. Sleep is getting hard because laying on my side hurts after just a little while. I am so happy to be going through this at this time of year. My boys are happily enjoying Halloween and then the other holidays, so everything seems to be speeding along. My littlest hugs and kisses the babies at least 15 times a day lol.
My biggest fear is them coming too early--I have dreams about it. Luckily, all of us are getting past the weeks when the problems are the highest. I will be 28 weeks Monday--luckily complications if they are born early start dropping much more after that milestone.
Hope everyone else is doing as well as possible!
@emmalc16 I'm sorry to hear you're on bed rest! Is your cervix measured at every appointment? Had it shortened at all prior to this?
I had my baby shower Sunday and the nursery is coming together so feeling good getting ready for these kiddos. Hope you all stay healthy and happy til our next check in!
I'm coming up on 30 weeks in a few days (holy crap!). I had been seeing a midwife up until a couple weeks ago and then I switched to an OB - standard procedure around here. I still see my midwife occasionally for check ins and she'll be there for the birth which I'm happy about! I'm up to biweekly OB appointments, and ultrasounds every 4 weeks to just check growth - apparently standard for my OB.
I've been unofficially diagnosed with PUPPS, which sucks huge but I'm relieved it's something that's not harmful to me or the babies. And my hips get so sore these days just from walking around getting groceries! I'm so glad I'm not working anymore. I couldn't imagine trying to be up and down for a 12h shift.
And this evening we brought our new minivan home! I actually cried when we left the dealership because I traded in my old clunker that I've had for 8 years - my first car! I hated the thing, I couldn't even drive it the past couple weeks but it just looked so lonely sitting there as we drove away in our shiny new minivan... But now we've got the room for our twin car seats and stroller and all the gear that comes with two babies!
@happyandhopeful3 my cervix was measured at 20 weeks and it was 37mm. At my ultrasound 2 weeks ago the lady didn't even measure it. Very thankful I decided to go for another scan!
Sorry I haven't posted and multiples check in. I don't go on this site that often anymore. I'm not too fond of a lot or people in this group but I do enjoy our check ins.
I'm 28 weeks 4 days. I've been scheduled for a c section 12/28 and hoping my last day of work will be thanksgiving eve which is 4 weeks prior. HR is looking into seeing if that would count as paid disability leave being that my actual due date isn't until 1/16. Either way I can't see myself working in Dec. I'm too exhausted with this commute and can't do it much longer.
Plus I'm looking for a house. Not to buy but to rent. My husband gets back mid Dec so I'm looking for a house to move into before he gets back. Grad school, work, my commute and house hunting leaves me with zero energy! I'm so over everything. Well, not the pregnancy. I love being pregnant! !! Love love it!
My next OB appt isn't until 11/17. They are still a month apart and at the last one she couldn't tell me their weight. I was measuring 3 weeks ahead.
I meet with the high risk specialist again next week who will hopefully tell me good news about our little girl. Keep praying
Thanks. Here's my bump from today.
Hope we can keep these babies in a while longer.
@Theliops congrats on the minivan! Starting to feel real, multiples are on the way.
@keshakdavis glad to see your update! You look amazing too!
I don't check in often on the multiples check in- not too much going on really, except recently with the bedrest. My triplets each weigh about 2lbs now. I failed the glucose test (by 4pts) and have to go back for 3h. The office is accommodating and will put me in a room to lay down while I have to be there. Honestly I don't see the point since I won't be pregnant much longer anyway.
My perinatologist's goal is 28w, but I would love to make it to 30w at least. We are almost to his goal though!
I am working from home so that keeps me from being too bored in bed.
Two years, two losses and three IUIs...
We are having TRIPLETS!
EDD 1/26/16
GGB born November 2015!
@happyandhopeful3 Where I am, and in my situation they only check my cervical length at ultrasounds. So currently just every four weeks. They tell me I'm still "low risk" even though I'm carrying twins, and I totally understand feeling like you're getting the bare minimum!
The nursery is finally coming along and I've gotten around to washing the newborn clothes this week. I have a baby shower this weekend too, which I am nervous and excited about (I don't love being the center of attention).
My babies are both turned down already with their heads and doctors are hoping I can stay put until The end of November. My birthday is also end of November so who knows we might all share a birthday but I'd of course rather them stay put past November. Their heartbeats are good and all looks fine with them. I would just like them to get a bit bigger and stronger so they don't have to stay in the NICU too long. Every hour everyday is indeed a milestone. I've never loved Monday's so much yet until now as my babies grow a week older every Monday.
My family and friends are praying a lot for my little buns to keep baking til the end of Nov and I'm asking you all to also keep me in your prayers. As mothers of twins and triplets we are surely in a special club and only us know the trials and aches we face both physically and emotionally. Even our husbands don't fully understand. We just can't explain it sometimes.
Keep strong all! Sending prayers up for all of us and our babies in this group!
@Aminafleming I haven't had steroid injections yet, my Dr wants to optimise the timing of them to give the biggest benefit to babies. The Dr at the ultrasound place mentioned the cerlage today, but I will see what my OB says on Monday. I think because I'm now 31 weeks along they probably won't do a cerlage.
@keshakdavis keeping you and your little girl in my prayers.
@keshakdavis --that's awesome news!
We're hopefully going to be seen by a neonatal Dr to just get a better idea of what to expect and progresss week to week. Babies weigh 1.7kg (3.7pounds) each now and were within 10g of each other which is great!
Eta I do have to stay in hospital until they are born because I'm being constantly monitored for all of those issues!
Thinking of you!
