I really don't like Veronica for some reason so Sylvia by default. I like Vera a lot though.

I voted for Veronica. I wouldn't use Vera as a nn, nms. Ronni/Ronnie would be the nn I would use but that's just me.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone!

I see Vera being mentioned as a stand alone.  We had discussed that at one point, but DH eventually ruled it out (though he's fine with it as a nickname).  Ah well.

Just go with Sylvie. It's so pretty! So is Sylvia but Sylvie is super adorable. Plus it's close to my maiden name so I'm biased

I like both of these names but I like Veronica just a smidge more. However, I guess I'm in the minority because I absolutely hate the nn Vera. I adore the nn Sylvie though. I know, not helpful.
