So DH and I were talking to friends about how different our time/intent to conceive this pregnancy was and it made me intrigued about the breakdown of this group.

We decided we would just stop trying to avoid it, but not try either. I was actually planning on it taking a while, so I was really surprised when it happened in two months.

We just said lets have another baby and got pregnant that same month. Same thing happened with our first pregnancy.

Figured it would take longer after being on birth control for 14 years... but three after I stopped the pill, we got our BFP!

This is about what we did - 2 month for DD and 2 weeks for this baby.

We were planning to start TTCing in December or January, when DD turned 3...

I was shocked, I really thought we were being careful enough so I didn't test until like 5 days after my missed period because I just did not want to believe it even though I was having symptoms and really should have known.

Three months after going off birth control, but only the first month of trying.... Definitely thought it would take longer than that!

I went off BC in early March, but we didn't try until May. First BFP in early July followed a week later by a m/c. Second BFP in early August for this one.

We were a 1 and pregnant for DD and this LO. I feel very lucky and appreciative to have had it happen that way.

I wasn't planning on getting pregnant until after the new year, but one too many beers at the summer block party, and fate played out.... ;)

I had my iud removed in June, got pregnant in July. We were surprised it happened so fast!

I went off birth control and was literally probably pregnant less than 2 weeks later. We weren't actively trying. I thought it would take at least a few months to get pregnant.

Looks like we are a pretty fertile group! LOL

I got a BFP 3 weeks after going of BC for DD and we stopped using a condom when our new insurance kicked in July 1st...also BFP 3 weeks later lol

We weren't trying but not avoiding either. I went off BC two weeks before. Definitely didn't see it happening that fast.

I've been off BC for 3 years now due to some medical issues. We were just very cautious about our intimate times. The past few months we decided we wouldn't go gung-ho with trying but we wouldn't be careful either. And here we are :)

It took 8 mos to get pregnant with DD1. After her, we've gotten pregnant 4 times on the first "attempt."

I went off BC in November 2014, we wanted to start TTC. We had a BFP in May and miscarriage in June. After talking to the Dr we made the decision to try right away after the first AF post mc and ended up with a BFP in August.

We tried for about a year and nothing. Were evaluated and found out that both of us have significant issues with fertility. Had our first IVF in July which resulted in the current pregnancy.

We had been trying for about a year, but had decided to hold off after a lot of financial strains and two miscarriages.... Lo and behind after one time of closeness... To find out we were pregnant again!

Mine is a little complicated so I figure I'll write about it. I voted not trying not preventing less than 6 months because that was our attitude at the time.

Truth is we were trying for almost a year. Got pregnant in October 2014, diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy. (Actively TTC for 1 cycle)

Got pregnant again in January. MMC discovered late March. Actively TTC for 1 cycle.

Waited 3 cycles as per Doctor's orders (preventing by counting and withdrawal). After those cycles were up, We decided to just go with the flow and low and behold, I got pregnant first cycle of that, in July.

Point is not all stories are black or white :)

This time we were TTC. I did all the things. Temped, charted, fertility friend. You name it. Got the BFP on the 3rd cycle.
The first time, however, was a total surprise. I was on the depo provera shot. I went in for one of my doses and they give you a urine test. And, whoops, there she was.

    TTC 5 cycles.

This time was a very different TTC experience for us. Our first two pregnancies were one month and BFPs. This time took almost a year. As it turned out I had an undiagnosed medical condition that likely either prevented conception or caused early miscarriages. One that was treated and under control we got pregnant within 2 months.

Got pregnant on our first try with DD. Had a surprise pregnancy last October after just getting my cycles back after weaning from nursing, but early MC. TTC after waiting 3 cycles, got pregnant on first try, another MC this March. Waited several cycles and for after a big trip then got pregnant, again on the first cycle with this one...and it's a keeper! (Looks like it's not hard for us to get pregnant, we just had a difficult time keeping some).

We got very lucky and got pregnant both times our first month trying. I was temping, using ovulation kits, and charting. I definitely think that helped in our case.

Took us 8 months to get preggo in April. Lost that in June. Had a D&C June 8th , period July 8th and a BFP on August 8th so I guess this time it was a month.

I was using period tracker to help with my fertile days. How accurate were your trackers if you guys used an app.

Stopped BC in September, got pregnant in April, early MC in May, pregnant again in August. We were 'trying' but not charting or anything. So it took about a year to get to this point!

We suffered a loss on Memorial Day weekend and I conceived the end of July.

It's hard to really decide what we were.  I miscarried in April, June, and July. April and June were oopsies. But July was definitely a lets try month.  By August, I didn't want to try anymore.  I couldn't bear another loss.  I chart and we had a 5 day buffer.  Got pregnant, and the baby stuck despite my clotting disorder.  I was shocked to see a positive and figured I would just lose it.  It still doesn't feel real, and probably more because I don't talk about beyond here. No one knows. So surprise-ish, but we didn't use any bc beyond charting.

With my first we got pregnant in the first month of trying (7 months after going off of BC), with DD we tried for two months (never went back onto BC after my first pregnancy), and with this LO we also tried for two months before our BFP.

After the mmc we waited the 2months advised by my doc. From then on we were hoping but not agressively trying - figured we could leisurely try till the end of this year. On the 2nd month we got the BFP!

Well there wasn't an option for I was told I couldn't have children, so I stopped taking birth control over a year ago, and wait what??? Let's just say I wasn't trying, or wanting, and now that I'm in the second trimester I'm finally OK with it and happy about it!

We had been trying for about a year before starting treatment in January. After one round of Clomid (resulting in OHSS) and four rounds of Menopur, we took a break for late July-August as we were traveling and had decided to start IVF in September when we got back. Needless to say we were more than shocked to get a BFP in August. Oh the irony. Now instead of going to Barcelona for IVF we are going for a babymoon :)

I had my IUD removed shortly after ovulation in May, found out I was pregnant on June 2nd (incidentally, the DH and I tied the knot) and then learned of my loss in early July. I was waiting one cycle to start BC again because we were both hurting so much and only realized I was KU when I did the math as to when I should be getting my period again. I was 12 days late and laid on my bathroom floor crying for hours while DH was at work. I've had four u/s (my midwife uses an ultrasound instead of a Doppler for HR), and all is well so far. We call LO our miracle baby because we only had sex once in the month of July, long before I should have ovulated, and he was gone for training for two weeks during what should have been my fertile window.

I put down SS. I had gotten my period back for the first time since stopping nursing my son, so I was charting my ovulation to just like "see" how my cycle was doing. I ended up getting pregnant during a time when I thought my tests were negative- I'm guessing I must have missed the window (I was only peeing on the sticks once a day, so I probably missed it on the opposite end of a day). How I found out I was pregnant, I had a positive OPK test for like a week straight which seemed very odd to me, so I asked my doctor and she told me to take a pregnancy test! So we were going to start trying after I was familiar with my cycle again but it happened right away. We were surprised but still very excited.
