Possible miscarriage

Hello there; I'm currently 7 weeks along and today I started bleeding there's no cramping though. I'm not sure if I should go to the ER to make sure if it's a miscarriage happening because tomorrow morning I have a doc. Appointment for my first ultrasound therefore my doc can tell me what's going on. My concern is, quite a lot of people know I'm pregnant how can I tell them "oh I'm not pregnant no more"..?? It's very difficult for me. If this is happening I would just cry and cry but also be embarrassed around my family since I wasn't too far along my pregnancy. Any advice??!!

  • Are you just spotting or full blown bleeding? Either way, I'm not a dr and Id call in the morning. Sporting can be very normal though. Try and stay calm.

  • I went to the er today for bleeding and vomiting. They ran blood work then told me my betas were fine and to go home. I pushed for an ultrasound and babe is measuring 6w1d, according to my last period I should be 7w6d. They just said well baby is fine, go home and follow up with your ob. I would wait till morning unless it is a substantial amount of blood. They kept asking if I had soaked a liner yet and if it was less than that they weren't really concerned.

I really hope everything is ok with you and babe. ♡
  • Hey Viri, your OB probably has an on call physician that you can call at any time. I would call them and ask what they would like you to do. Being so early, I have heard that the ER docs are not able to do much by way of preventing a miscarriage, but only they would know best.
    Thinking of you!
  • Unless you have heavy bleading I would wait until tomorrow. Don't worry about friends and family for now. See how your appointment goes. Miscarriages happen more often than you may think, so it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Part of the reason you tell your closest friends and family is so that they can support you of something were to go wrong so don't stress out.
  • Thank you!!
  • Unless you're soaking a pad an hour, there's really nothing anyone in the ER will do for you. Lay down, rest, drink fluids and wait for you appt. in the morning. Your friends and family will be supportive no matter what happens- nothing at all to be embarrassed about. Wishing you all the best.
