Prepare ye self! Mine is tomorrow but they didn't say one or both, just that they test for it at 36 weeks. Nice way to start the day. Crossing my fingers it's only the one swab!

I had my swab done at 36 weeks. fyi it was just an outside type of swab. They don't actually check inside your butthole!
My Dr did say I am getting a swab at my next app. I assumed it was the baby hole I mean why would they need to swab the other one. Last time I had a baby, it didn't come out of there.
I don't even let SO near the backdoor so why would I let the dr. It's just not going to happen.
I definitely got both swabbed!!! Ahh. And my dr used the correct terminology to tell me what she was going to do.... And I'm so immature I kinda giggled.... If my husband was there I totally would have lost it. Hahahha. Definitely left feeling violated

I didn't have it done last time because I went into labor before my 36 week appointment. I'd totally forgotten about all of this! But because they didn't I think I had to do iv antibiotics?
Well hell. I'm sitting in the waiting room unknowingly awaiting my anal violation. Hopefully they don't swab the poopdeck but knowning my OB, they will.
I'm so thankful for you ladies. For some reason when the nurse told me that they would be doing this test I envisioned them swabbing my mouth... Not the bagina or my rear... I guess I should have done more research...
I had both swabbed and honestly I would have had no idea she even went to the #2 hole if I hadn't read it online before hand & asked her if she was going to. It was so quick. Do not freak out about this, I bet some of you got it swabbed and didn't even realize. It really was not a big deal at all!! The cervical checks are far more invasive and weird. And yes, it's just around the outside, they do not insert anything in your butt.
Oh well. It's not like we should be clutching onto our dignity, anyway. We're about to give birth.
It's weird what we hold onto and what we let go. When I was giving birth I cried because I was so embarassed about having to use a bed pan, but didn't care that I had a team of 5 huddled around my vagina, pooped myself during delivery, and covered my OB in pink mist when pushing the placenta out.
If there's something strange underneath the hood. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. If there's something weird and it don't look good. Who you gonna call? Your Doctor. Immediately. If it's new, painful, and possibly pregnancy related get your ass off the internet and call your doctor. It's for your health and your child's.

Then my OB did it and it was so quick and noninvasive. I've dealt with a heck of a lot worse this pregnancy than having my baby door and butthole swabbed.

Totally agree that it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be based on my OBs description. Though being told beforehand was nice. No one likes to be caught off guard like that
I knew it was coming because I read up on it prior to my apt., and my doctor told me she was going to swab me, I knew what to expect, but I think it just caught me off guard a bit since there was no warning. It didn't hurt but I still left feeling violated.

My OB warned me he's going to swab me on Monday, I have t-minus 5/6 days to mentally prepare for that one.
