Fit Mama Weekly Check In! week 2

Hello beautiful ladies!!! Welcome to week two!
I hope everyone is feeling well!
This week is is about just that! No one can possibly stay fit when they feel horrible!
I know lots of us (myself include) are dealing with terrible nausea and vomiting! Along with the exhaustion It feels next to impossible to stay on top of your fitness!
I want you to think of loopholes for yourself this week! For instance I have not been able to make it to the gym because of my MS being so bad, I have made it a point to bench press my 3 year old when I'm just lying around feeling awful!
How can you change some every day things into a little extra exercise for yourself? Sprinting to the toilet and lunging to puke totally counts!!! Lol
Your Challange this week is to post a pic of an innovative way you can add some workout to your everyday 1st trimester life!!
good luck! Be well!

Here is an article with some suggestions on how to add exercise to everyday life

Re: Fit Mama Weekly Check In! week 2

  • As I mentioned I have been feeling terrible! So I bench press my daughter while I lay on the sofa! I miss the gym! I'm hoping this passes! I'm also going to find a routine to do on my own at home!
Here is Presley June my little fitness buddy. She enjoys when mommy exercises cause she likes to pretend to fly!! !

  • I wear my 20lb daughter everywhere, but especially when we take the dogs for their 3.5 mile walk. The extra weight gives just enough resistance to give me the extra work out

  • I made it to the gym 5 times last week despite being sick. I usually get a break through of no symptoms from 7a-12. I did spin, elliptical, and ran 15 minutes a few days. Today I am more fatigued and nauseated almost the entire day. I will probably just go for long 3 mile walk. Hopefully make it to spin tomorrow!
  • Happy week 2 ladies!@jerseybroadwaybaby, sad you feel so shitty. Definitely look into the barre3 online workouts, you can do as little as 10 minutes, good alternative options, there is a monthly fee:( but I used it a lot last pregnancy. Sprinting to the toilet definitely counts as an HIIT! And nice job other mom as, doing what you can! I've kept up my workouts, just 5 weeks today, I'm slower with reps, runs, pretty much everything but I'm trying not to be too hard on myself and listen to my body, I'm not always good with that. I did a bit of research on planks and burped as there's a lot in my workouts and from what I understand we can do them throughout the entire pregnancy as long as we feel good. I started to modify some moves as there's alottttttt of jumping and bouncing in all three T25 levels I do. Was definitely feeling nauseous with a lot of jumping:( Still keeping up the same weight amounts, anyone know anything on weight amounts?

  • Today is a rest day for my workout.  I just did a 2.5 mile walk with DD in the jogger, but always try to push the pace. Tomorrow & Saturday are 3-5 mile runs, the other days I'll be hitting the gym for lifting and/or sprint work. My MS didn't hit until week 7 last time around, so I'm hoping I still have a bit before hanging with the vomit fairy.

  • @Wyattnash00 I actually have been planking !! Glad I am able to stick with that

  • I didn't do much of anything last week.  I ran my 10 mile race and put my feet up.  I have been barely eating though and exhausted, so that doesn't motivate me to work out.

Maybe I need a new morning routine.  Because like @aloha5736 I only feel OK in the morning.  Lunch time and later.... no good.

I may sign up for a simple 5k on Turkey Day.  It won't let me keep my feet up forever.

    Ugh.

I really need to find a way to get through this exhaustion.

  • I am super lucky, no morning sickness for me (yet) and I am still lifting 5x a week and doing cardio 2-3x. Today I squatted, benched and did some shoulder work.
  • Last week I worked out 3 times and did pretty much everything I usually do. This week is a no go. I went to my regular class today and anything running or jumping made me feel so nauseous. Burpees are not my friend right now. No one knows I'm pregnant so I was getting a little annoyed at the "come on you can do it! Don't quit!!" Uh sorry I don't want to barf on you instructor :) I taught dance for 5 hours tonight and found myself sitting more frequently too, which is probably a good thing.
  • Hi everyone!
I'm still feeling fine but I was lazy the past few weeks. I've kicked myself in the butt a bit the last few days though: Sunday I hiked a mountain (5mi) and yesterday I ran 3mi. I felt great after both, which surprised me! But I'm going to try to take advantage of this now in case I start feeling crummy soon... More jogging this week, and hoping for a long hike this weekend (10-12mi).

  • No MS for me yet, so I'm taking advantage of it! I've been hitting the trails with the kids and dog. My double stroller with the kids in it weighs about 110lbs so I figure that adds a lot to my workout. My heart rate has been getting high faster than normal, so I've had to back off a bit and take more breaks. Anyone else notice their HR going way high at lower intensity?

For at home added exercise I do squats while folding the laundry and 25 push-ups every hour or so. I tried adding burpees, but got really dizzy so I stopped.

  • I hav boot camp tonight:) I did Barre last night. Im only 5 weeks 3 days. I just have sore boobs and tired. No stomach cramps which I thought I should be feeling right now. My workouts involve a lot of ab work...at 5 weeks its fine right? I do have a question...at my boot camp we do lots of jump squats...should I stop? I have ultrasound Friday. No one knows. I feel like not going to class all week just So I can find out if I am...let them know Monday or if I am not...well keepdoing my thing
  • I signed up for kickboxing! My first day with delayed morning sickness and I got all over ambitious lol! I start Friday!

  • Still trying to stick to at least three days a week, made it last week! Then on the off days I'm typically cleaning house, doing laundry and staying pretty active. Definitely the toughest part has been not using the 40 minutes a day for a nap instead!
  • I went to crossfit this morning and I got winded very quickly! Just took a few extra breaks and I made it through :) . It's awesome so many women are staying active throughout pregnancy!
