My first blood work showed an elevated A1c so my OB had me go ahead to jump right to the 3-hr glucose test yesterday. I think normally you do the one hour around 20 weeks. I am 7w4d. The drink wasn't quite as bad as I have been hearing. My suggestion...... Make sure it's chilled and get the orange (my Dr had orange, fruit punch and cola) and drink it all in one big gulp. The nurse was impressed by how fast I chugged it. (You are given 5 minutes but I chugged in about 20 seconds). Guess the nasty cheap beer in college gave me practice lol.
Broke up the three hours with the first u/s. Oh. My. Goodness. I'm a FTM so it was absolutely magical to see our lil baby just hanging out in there. Got to hear the heartbeat beat as well.....141 and very strong. I BAWLED which made my DH cry. It was one of the best moments in my life.

I remember seeing Nicholas' heartbeat flickering and him moving all about in our first early ultrasound and it was also one of the most incredicle experiences of my life. You know they are in there but to SEE how big and wiggly and completely human they look, and that HEARTBEAT moving, it is wild.
