1. Wash and put away baby clothes and sheets. 2. Go get a breast pump. My insurance covers it so I should really go in soon. Not sure where to go but will figure it out this week. 3. Fill out and submit papers for maternity leave with work. 4. Pack husband's bag (doesn't need much, hospital is 5 minutes away).
Okay, so not as much as I thought! #:-S
Hi!! I just went to target pharmacy and they filled my breast pump like a prescription. Pretty smooth. You can call your health plan to see which places are in network!
Ps. Forgot to add call your dr first for the script
We just moved in late August and our kitchen isn't done! I'm told 2 more weeks. But for the baby- just waiting on wall decals from etsy to arrive and maybe ensemble a few small items like the bassinet, bouncer, rock and play etc- I plan on washing all her items this week. Oh and a hospital bag. But I find that kind of hard to pack- the clothes I want to wear in the hospital I'm wearing now!
Pretty much done. Just need to grab some button down pj's from Walmart since I don't own any. I don't know why I keep putting it off. Maybe it's just the thought of having to go to Walmart. I can survive without them but since I'm attempting to get over my fear/phobia of breastfeeding I figure something new for that particular reason might help. Dumb I know. Other than that bring on baby.
Don't blame you for not wanting to go to Walmart. How about ordering them online? Or try a different store.
Still have to put the crib up, wash LO's clothes, install car seat, pack hospital bags, and pick up a couple nursing tanks.
I still have a mile long list and find myself running to the store every other day for something for the baby....and I delivered over 2 weeks ago!! I'm pretty convinced I will never get it all done at this point haha.
The room being used as his nursery is done being remodeled. Now we just need to build the furniture, decorate and put away clothes.
My shower was yesterday, so my living/dining room is packed with baby stuff. A good problem to have! So we need to organize that, build everything and send thank you cards.
That's really all that's left! And honestly, there are a TON of little things I could be doing but it's like I hit the 6 week mark and a sense of calm hit. Let's hope that stays!!
As far as baby we are set. We just have a couple of home improvement projects like sand down the bedroom doors so they close easier (older home) and organize DH closet.
So much left Clean bathrooms/ family room/kitchen/ baby's room Finish moving DD out if the nursery and into her room. Pack hospital bag Order breast pump Put crib back together, it was converted to a toddler bed Bleach walls and kilz the mold spots Put away clothes Write thank you notes Pick up necessity for post pardum recovery Freezer meals Kinda having an anxiety attack now. I will go sit on the couch until it passes.
Hmm.. -install car seat base -finish washing clothes -clean/organize nursery(still has all shower gifts just piled up in there) -buy a few more small items -set up baby monitor -deep clean house one or two more times..ya know for good measure -pack hospital bag And I think that's it.. Hopefully!
Edit: so after seeing all that I needed to do and reading this post I just spent all morning/afternoon doing nearly everything I listed
I almost want to say "literally everything", but I guess it's actually not that much. We hit a snag with our landlady (WRITE UP A NEW LEASE LADY) since my due date is the day before our lease is up the nursery isn't set up, but almost everything is in the garage. I need to pack my hospital bag but other than that it's just time to wait for good sales and wait for baby. Oh and install the car seat.
He took the kids out so I could rest. Instead I decided to dismantle our bed, re arrange the bedroom, put the bed back together, throw out 4 bags of accumulated unnecessary crap, set up the Moses basket. Then I painted the last wall in the front room, which has been bugging me all weekend.
I now can not get off my chair. Seriously, my sciatica has flared up and It hurts so much and it's all my fault for being an idiot who is physically 8 months pregnant but apparently not mentally
Today I got in trouble with my husband :-(

I have this problem too. I feel like my daily to do lists are a bit overzealous. I have to remind myself that I'm pregnant and I need to take frequent breaks. If I stand at the sink for over 5 minutes to do dishes my lower back starts to kill me. I literally set my microwave timer for 10 minutes and clean in 10 minute intervals. It's a nice reminder to stop and take a break.
-Wash and sort clothing -Decorate nursery (everything is assembled, just no decorations yet) -Pack hospital bag -Get items for post delivery recovery -Order breast pump -Install carseat base in DH'S car
My baby shower is November 8th but I don't have too much more to get for this little man so I'm in decent shape. We just moved about 2 weeks ago so we're doing pretty good considering. Haha.
This is a great list to help make me think! I just had my last shower today so tomorrow I'm doing my returns/getting the final stuff. Then laundry. Install carseat. Trying to keep the house clean everyday, just in case (and it just makes me feel better to have a clean house anyway). Prep some meals for when we get home from the hospital. GET A MASSAGE! I feel like there has to be more but this seems like enough already!
I feel like i still have heaps but i am hoping i will get most it finished once i have finished work and have 4 weeks off before DD: - Get some cute wall decals and shelves for nursery - Hubby to set up bassinet (currently flatpack) - Wash all clothes and sheets - Buy a dresser for nursery - Organize clothes - Pack hospital bags - Sort out maternity payments - Hospital tour - Get a haircut and Pedicure - Organize & Clean the rest of the house - Prep frozen meals
Eeeep im sure there is more but that is what i can think of off the top my head!
Oh, far too much. But I'm procrastinating the last of my packing (movers show up in 3 hours!), so I'll make a quick list:
Baby-related:
- buy what's left of the essentials that I didn't get from the shower (have a list on my phone, but I think its most the swing, PnP, bassinet, and a few extra linens.)
- wash clothes/sheets/burp cloths/blankets/etc, see if I'm low on anything
- finish painting the nursery
- assemble crib, and move it and the dresser into nursery (they're currently in the garage)
- buy some BF-friendly tops and bras
- it'd be nice to buy a glider and get it delivered/assembled/in the nursery, but I don't feel like its necessary
- install the car seat bases in both cars
Non-Baby-Related:
- move and unpack the house!!!! (I have a friend coming over tomorrow for an unpack-the-kitchen party!)
- replace the tires on DH's car (he's needed them for awhile, going to hound him about it b/c I'd rather sit in the dealer's waiting room heavily pregnant than with a tiny baby)
- have the pool "closed" for the season (got people coming next week, since this is our first year with this pool and we don't know what we're doing!)
- I have a quilt my grandma made that has a few popped seams, Don't know why but I got a bugbear the other day about fixing that before kiddo's here. Guess I'm worried I won't have a free afternoon to do that for awhile.
I think I'm pretty much all set. Nursery is ready, clothes washed and packed. I prepared some freezer meals and got everything my midwife recommended to have at home when returning from the hospital.
I have started on my hospital bag, but as I still wear some clothes at home, I will have to throw those in at the last minute before we leave.
As I was already sent to the hospital on Friday as the little one decided to have a high heart rate :-( and my doctor just wanted to make sure everything is ok, I already had to pack quickly and I think that will work. Luckily I'm back home now, but as LO measured rather big, I would not be unhappy if we get to meet him in the next weeks... So it's good to feel prepared and ready. ;-) :-)
I think we have MOST of our things in order baby coming home, nursery is all put together etc. but I haven't packed my hospital bag and I don't have anything for post child birth! I need to get nursing bra's, pads, disposable chonies. All my post care stuff is still pending. I better hurry it up or my SO is going to need to make an uncomfortable trip for me to the store to get all of it LOL

I took care of all the "me" stuff!! I figure while my husband is an awesome guy and would totally make a run for me, it is easier to send him for diapers or take out!! LOL
EVERYTHING. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little there.. but we are moving October 25th (2 1/2 weeks before my due date). We're moving into a two bedroom condo with my husband's brother and wife.. this is only temporary as they'll be moving out on my due date once they get the keys to their new house. But since my brother and sister in law will still be in the room we need for the baby, we will have to wait until after baby is born to get his room all set up. Oh well! At least we have all the necessities and he'll be in our room for the first few months anyway. It's just going to be a lot to do with a new born!
