  • Keep those positive thoughts and results coming!
We just finished our week 28 appointment (how is that even possible). Things are looking good - keep on hoping for everyone!

  • Hope the appt went well! We seen the baby again and everything looks great! I go back again next Thursday for a sono and the harmony test. Happy Thanksgiving!

  • I got to hear the heartbeat and it was a strong and healthy one, so they wouldn't do a scan. I had my hopes up of being able to see the baby and seeing that everything is fine. I'm excited about the heart beat (which I was relieved they found super fast instead of having to search for it) but I cried after the appointment for not being able to see the baby. I know it is silly and a healthy heart rate should be indication enough, but I think after my loss any and every reassurance helps. Won't get another scan until 18 weeks unless I want to pay out of pocket for something called "mommy vision"
  • @maryworley1 I don't think it's silly at all! I would have been upset too. Then again, a lot of things make me upset these days!

  • Congrats @ALC08 !! When are you due? My a/s is Tuesday I can't wait!! Praying for healthy results.

  • Thanks @spatter1 ! Well , my husband and i both understood the dr to say he was moving me up to april 15th at my appt early oct. But at my last appt the tech said she sat down w him to discuss it and they agreed they were sticking with the april 21st date. So anyway mid april. When are you due? Fingers crossed for tuesday!
  • Due dates are so crazy. I feel like unless you are temping really accurately and know for sure when you ovulated it's really a crap shoot! I'm due April 28th! For some reason I already have a feeling she'll be a May baby, but only time will tell! :) thanks for the good wishes!

  • Wow wow!!! So amazing to hear positive results from all you peeps! I go in for the anatomy scan tomorrow and couldn't be more anxious (since crossing my first trimester milestone) to know results!
  • Anatomy scan this morning went well overall. Great news is baby looks perfect. Not so great news is that I have a low-lying placenta. Of course the doctor said not to worry... uhh yeah right!!! I am trying REALLY hard not to let this completely freak me out but the more I sit here and read about it the more I start to lose it. I know there is a good chance it will move over the next several weeks but the thought of complications just really gives me anxiety. Trying right now to focus on the fact that baby looked healthy and was moving like crazy and there was nothing really alarming going on.

If anyone has experienced something similar with a positive outcome I'd love to hear your story! :)

  • @spatter1 I loved hearing that your scan went well.  YAY!!!

  • Hey ladies,

I'm new here so just catching up on where everyone is at. I just finished my first set of betas and everything looked good! I'm going for my first ultrasound next Thursday but I'll only be 6 weeks - will I even be able to see anything? My RE wants to do it early before he releases me to an obgyn. I just want to know what to expect. Both of my miscarriages were around 6-7 weeks so I'm so nervous.

  • @jilligan14, my first baby stopped growing at 6w1d, but it did have a visible heartbeat.  I couldn't see an actual baby -- just a yolk sac and a fluttering heart.  I've heard that you may or may not see the heartbeat at 6 weeks.  I have my second u/s on Friday at 6w5d.  I think there ought to be a heartbeat by then.  We'll see.

  • @CarrieandRoy - fingers crossed that you see a nice strong heartbeat! I'm so worried I won't see anything at all. I don't like it that I'm going in so early. But hopefully everything will be fine! One day at a time...

  • With this pregnancy i did see baby and hear the hb at 6 wks. Maybe +1 day. I'm sure it's different w every pregnancy though. Good luck!
  • jilligan14 Congrats! I'd say it's 50/50 on whether you'll really see anything. I went in at what I thought was 6w5d, but ended up measuring 6w1d. Saw a heartbeat - but if I'd gone in at what I thought was 6w0d, I really would have been barely 5 weeks and wouldn't have seen anything at all. Since you're working with an RE you probably have a pretty solid idea of when you ovulated, but implantation can still vary by as much as 6 days. Which is all to say - good luck, but don't be stressed if you don't see anything at this point! Could just be later implantation.
  • @GoatSnakeMouse - thanks for this. I know there's a chance we won't see anything this early but I'm still worried that my instinct will be to freak out. I wish we could go a few days later but DH and I are leaving on the 20th and the 17th is the latest option. I feel pretty confident about my O-date since I used a trigger shot and everything. The 17th should put me at exactly 6 weeks. Will just have to wait and see what happens (so much of this is out of my control).

Does that mean it's covering your cervix? If so, so is mine! Its also anterior and they think that's what's causing my spotting. It's slowly moving like we want... But I'm with you on the anxiety train! I can't even let my self research it.
  • @CarrieandRoy YAY!! So happy to hear you saw the heartbeat and everything looks good. Thinking positive thoughts - grow baby grow!

@mommaseal actually it was kind annoying - the u/s doc just said it was "low". So naturally when I got on Google (ugh) and found out that low could be a lot of things from fully covering the cervix, to partially covering, to just "low" I was frustrated not knowing where I fit. Had my 20 week appointment on Friday and finally got to talk to my doc about it who said it isn't covering, just low. She said 95% of the time it moves and they'll check me again between 28/30 weeks. She also said it always grows up and never moves down which was reassuring. And I can keep exercising etc. as usual unless I start bleeding which fingers crossed hasn't happened yet! ALSO, from the posts I've seen on my BMB and BMB Facebook group this seems very common at this point so I'm trying really hard not to worry!! Keep me posted on your placenta! (Haha never thought those words would come "out of my mouth". )

  • I go Thursday morning at 7:30 for our genetic testing.  We're hoping to have the results the last week of December but adding the holidays in means that it might take longer.  I work at a school and I was hoping to tell my boss when I came back from break, but it might be a few extra days.  I just don't want to say much to anyone until we know there's a decent chance I'll be having a baby in June.  They do need to hurry a little bit though, I have a feeling I've only got a few more weeks in regular clothing and once I switch to maternity clothes, it's going to be pretty obvious, especially in a building of women!  On one hand, it's a great environment because there's so much support and excitement, on the other hand, it's a little harder to hide anything!
  • I have what the "intake" appt on Wed (8w5d). We saw the bean on the screen at 6w4d and it looked great! Some time has passed and anxiety has set in so I'm hoping the midwife will be able to find a heartbeat to settle my nerves. I know it may be early for that but I need reassurance! We're telling our families in Christmas Eve so I'm thinking about asking for another ultrasound....
  • Just got back from anatomy scan - all looks well and we are having a GIRL!

  • @GoatSnakeMouse yay team pink!! :) congrats on the placenta moving! I hope mine does too!!

  • I had my first ultrasound about a week ago and all is well. Had an appointment yesterday and heard the heartbeat...nice and strong. I go back to see the doc on January 13.

Good to hear that everyone's appointments/ultrasounds are going well. I wish you all the best!
  • Going in this morning. I am 22 wks today! I haven't been on much lately, life has been crazy. Glad to see everyone is doing well!
  • Yay @ALC08 I went this morning as well, 22 weeks today! Super fast apt. All went well then rushed off for a crazy day at work! Happy holidays!
