@JamieH2000 omg! Dr. Rogers!!!! Amazing! Â She's so fantastic!! Â Â
So ladies...I got my embryos biopsied but held them for testing so that I wouldn't end up with nothing to transfer like the first and only other round that resulted in any day 5 embryos.  Now I'm starting to worry that I should get those results before a transfer.  I am just  worried about possible incorrect results and with having such a small yield feel like it might be best.  So really the only purpose of the PGS would be to get the results after a transfer if it doesn't work to find out if it was possibly PGS abnormal.  What do we think about this.....is this silly??  I wish I had never paid for the PGS DOr package in the first place, but I did....i guess I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts were.  I'm turning 37 at the end of January.  And after 3 rounds of IVF I got 3 abnormal day 5 embryos, nothing after round 2 and 3 after this last round, untested but lesser grade.  All Bb's.Â
Me: Hashimoto Autoimune Disease Homozygous MTHFR Cr677 DOR - AMH Â .27 High FSH (don't even know how high) 2 iui's to start - BFNÂ IVF 1 -3 made it do day 5! Â Â 2 5AA 1 6BB Â PGS results = Â all abnormal IVF 2 - stimmed for 19 days. insanity. Had 5 follicles that looked mature but only 2 contained mature eggs the others were empty. Â Nothing made it to day 5 IVF 3 - added in HGH - 4 mature follicles (had some empties again) 3 made it to day 5/6 for PGS (held for testing with next retrieval IVF 4 - Upped my dosage for the first time - Canceled 11 days into sims - looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty IVF 5 - Canceled - Â looked like 1 follicle and we were afraid it was empty IVF 6 - 3 mature, 2 fertalized 1 made it to day 5 and sent for PGS
Sent in IVF round 3 and 6 (4 embryos) for PGS testing and got 2 normal embryos!!! Â 1Boy and 1Girl. Took a little over a year to get those two embryos so demanded all sorts of test prior to attempting transfer. Did EFT, ERA and NK Cells testing.
FET#1 - Intralipid drips, Prednisone, and did a depot lupron shot before starting the FET protocol Chemical pregnancy FET#2 - PGS normal boy - BFN Natural pregnancy - cycle following the FET2???? Â Miscarriage at 8 weeks. Â viability scan had shown an enlarged yolk sac so I had been warned that it was likely not chromosonally normal
DEIVF cycle - picked a donor who is willing to be open! Her cycle resulted in in 4 PGS Normal embryos 1st transfer - chemical pregnancy 2nd transfer - success, May 17 2020 due date!
@hopefuljj- Its so hard to know what to do in this journey... Only you know what is best, but I guess my thought is to go ahead with your next cycle and then send in the biopsies from the coming cycle (hopefully another 3 at least!) and the ones from last cycle. And then wait to transfer until you know which ones are normal? Is that an option?

That is definitely an option, but what if they all come back abnormal and one of them would have actually been fine? Â Should I be concerned with that risk? Â After all I have read about good embryos being discarded because of PGS it just really freaks me out. Â I guess I can wait and see what I get next cycle. Â Hoping it won't be anything like my 2nd cycle...that makes me crazy nervous too...

Ive been thinking about this for a while for you @hopefuljj it's such a hard decision. Â I still don't know if my process was correct in banking but it's different for all. Â I'm worried for u too and don't want u to give up ur chance for a transfer either. Â I would hold off and wait till after this round, know you have the option and that's great.Â

It's so hard to know what to do. Â If I knew I would even get one normie a cycle I would test and keep going like the original plan but after two cycles and nothing it makes me not want to even test! Â I guess maybe after this cycle I can decide.....I've been spending so much time with my niece it almost feels like I already have a baby, but then she goes home. And I start freaking the F out about my abnormal embryos I'm still paying to keep for no reason and these BB embryos that I've biopsied but haven't sent for testing....thanks for listening ladies. @hopefuljj- any chance you could convince your clinic to keep them if they are abnormal and transfer, given that you may be the correct candidate for transfering an abnormal based on that arricle (as in transfer an abnormal after 5 cycles is your only chance)? I think it would also depend on what they say is abnormal (partial deletion vs full, etc). Since there is a chance it would stick and not correct itself- like would you be ok with having a child with a certain syndrome like downs? I think you also have to think about would you rather risk a miscarriage (higher chances with an abnormal im sure) or if you have had enough and ready to hopefully just be a mom via Donor egg or embryo maybe. Only you can decide those things but I know none of it is easy and I’m happy to chat any time!

@jamieh2000 actually I have already talked my doctor but also his main nurse about the podcast and Dr Rogers in particular. He goes to a lot of conferences so he wanted to check if he had met her.Â
@hopeful_mom oh our journey is not over yet for sure. Compared to a lot of others we're just starting. And I'm just one of those people that need information, so I seek it out a lot. Hope you get that US on Friday and can start to relax and enjoy the months ahead :-)Â
@hopefuljj I think biopsying and then holding is really smart. This really gives you all options at any point without any risk to your embryos, since I heard several people have quite an attrition rate with the un- and re- freezing for testing later (and then un-freezing again for transfer). Also like you say in case you do transfer first you can check after if it might have been the embryo, or if not will point you towards maybe something with your lining or other uterine issue. I like @jamieh2000 's idea to do this cycle, see how many you have at the end and if it's a good number test, if not think about again biopsying for backup later again. She also raises good points about how you might deal with a CP or MC, or health issues. That I think is the really personal part of the decision.
AFM just prepping for the follow up on Thursday. But as my doctor had said with my profile it is likely to take a number of cycles, and with seeing so many ladies on here (including @hopeful_mom) who have success only after several cycles (and failures), both DH and I mentally are prepared for more rounds. Waiting until November is a pain, but luckily I have a trip to China to keep me busy in between :-)Â

emmasemm mentally preparing yourself is smart! And knowing all you can is smart as well!! I feel like the clinic are great at getting you started and through a cycle but they dont tell you some things that you could expect. Maybe cause they dont have the time who knows. You take the menpur and it burns like crap on some days...they dont tell you that in the class even...its finding out here while others are stemming that its normal or going to google....which in the beginning I wasn't interested in dr google anymore! The fact that you have different protocols with a few of us AMA you can go over all of them and see what you can try next. It sux that this is the process but you keep pushing through!!
@hopefuljj- @jamieh2000 jamie really did bring up all the important questions you need to ask yourself...and having a MC is a very important one. Some ladies that get 20 blasts are fine with transferring them all...and I cringe like ok. You haven't been through a MC so maybe its easy to say. Its a very personal thing and if I was you - 100% I wouldve went for it, put 3 in like I did the first time and pray for the best. The best request is your clinic letting you test and still transferring even if they are abnormal!! Thats the best option!!  I hate that we have to make this tough decisions!! This is one thing they should allow!!! If one came back abnormal because of downes then you would know ahead of time not to transfer. In the articles that i've read is there a part that said which abnormal embryos were more likely to become live births with the deletion of genes or the addition? I'm curious on that one myself yet missed the findings on it!!
AFM: Sent an email to my RE to follow up.  My US is next Monday which still feels like forever away!! However im more concerned that my vag is bothering me more on the outside now.  I'm just boggled.  I can't believe if it's heat rash or what.  I've never talked about my vag so much! It's like the vagina monologues it's crazy!  But I think when ur in such pain u don't care who knows.  So I'm actually concerned with that.
His schedule is also packed for him to see me this week so I might have to wait next week for the US. He offered his colleague up for me to see but I rather wait for him.  AND I don't want my US days be the same as I did last time.  I know it sounds wacky but I just need this one to go differently!! I'm also hoping going at 6wks +4 days I think I should be able to hear a heartbeat, I hope!!! Being a chic is tough stuff!!!

@hopeful_mom- sorry your vag isn't feeling better that is quite a reaction, I hope they can get you in this week again!! I'm glad you are liking your new RE, since I know how much you liked your last one too. I bet she is keeping tabs on you while she is on leave.. and probably thrilled you are preggo!
AFM- I had baseline this morning, and sounded like the ovaries are quiet.. not sure if they are calling today or not since the donor baseline isn't until wed. That is what I am really nervous about since it all went wrong there last time. I did get the final legal today, so thats one step closer.. but just scared about everything in this process now! We are going to the Smokies in 10 days to see the fall colors, so excited for a quick weeknd get away. Hopefully it will distract me while the donor is stimming!

@JamieH2000@Hopeful_mom the miscarriage question is so tough,  that is precisely why I paid all the money for PGS in the first place because I wanted to do everything to avoid it, but if it came down to having to have one to eventually get to my baby, then that's a different story.  Meaning, what if I have one good one in the entire bunch and never know because that one gets mismarked as abnormal.  @JamieH2000 I finally had the talk with DH after the last ER when I had a bunch of empty follicles again and he said he wanted to go the adoption route not go egg donor route. And he had his reasons which I respect.  So for me my last chance of experiencing a pregnancy and birth and all the things that come along with that experience end with this journey... and yes @emmasemmi guess I'll just wait and see what my next cycle has in store for me and make a decision at that point:) I so so appreciate ALL your ladies input!  Thank you so much!

@hopefuljj- its a hard call, but I know you will make the right decision for you! Hopefully you won't have to get to the donor egg vs adoption decision ever, but its good you are discussing it just in case. I also think opinions on these things change as time goes on, so its good to start thinking about all options now. But I have a good feeling you will get a miracle
@hopeful_mom- OMG amazing news! So glad he did a little sneak peak and you got to see the heartbeat this early- that is GREAT!! and now you don't have to worry about eptopic anymore! So happy for you!!!

@Hopeful_mom yay ultrasound sneak peek!!!!!!!!!!! Omg lady, this update has me so thrilled it's insane!!!!!!! Â I hear ya on the cramping, no one wants that, but so many ladies I know have had it, I am hoping praying and wishing for you, this is it, everything is going to be perfect!!!!!
@JamieH2000 girl you are so right in regards to opinions changing.  When we started this journey DH  was 100% if we can't get PG we wouldn't choose to be childless, period the END.  So this is epic progress and I guess we never know what will happen.  I am becoming a bit of a believer in the whole, "your path finds you" and  I am falling deeper into acceptance that if this is meant to be it will and if not then there will be another path and what the end result is will be the one that it should be.  It's so crazy...I've been spending lots of time with my sister and her baby.....I stare at her face and it's insane how much she looks like baby me. But only at certain moments, like when she is asleep or has a resting face it is uncanny.  Then she looks like her dad when she is making any other expressions.  I know this must drive my sister a little crazy but she has been so gracious anytime someone points it out to her like our family who knew me as a baby and are taken aback by it......and I just know she is conscious of my journey and that is so sweet of her to just be so sweet and say, yes she does look like her auntie so much sometimes!!!  She's already such a wonderful mother, it just makes me so so happy.   It also reminds me that we never know what we are going to get.  Some people end up with babies that their whole life they hear over and over, she's the spitting image of her dad! Or my God, look at her, are you sure she is yours?  And it just reminds me,  it's all irrelevant, all that matters is that they are YOUR daughter or son and you love them like no other and they will love you the same.  That is all there is at the end of the day.  So I will find my path to being a mom, and in the end if I have no birth story to share with them, that will be ok too, because it will just come down to love and they will have enough of that to last them a lifetime:)Â

@hopefuljj- what you wrote was so touching to me!! I love what you said about your path finds you. I felt for a while I was going to need to do Donor so when I finally made that decision it was such a relief. Tho of course sometimes I still wonder what if... I love that your niece looks like you!! Did you say at one point your sister was open to donating her eggs? On days where I get sad about the genetic stuff, I remind myself there is no guarantee what my genetic child would look like. And I read about epigenetics too and that helps. I hope we all find our happy ending soon, whatever it looks like, since life is just too short to be this sad for so many years.

@hopefuljj lady I'm emotional as it is over here come on everything you said is spot on AND I was of course thinking the same as @JamieH2000 your sister did offer eggs, is your DH against that??  I know you're going to be a mother there's no question!! Its amazing how every cycle is different!!
And yes the cramps (I hate even writing that word) scared the hell outta me. Â Luckily they have subsided so I'm just trying to move past it and believe it's normal and happens. Â It's just the first time during this pregnancy and unfortunately we all know what happen last time so it definitely freaked me out.Â
@emmasemm when is your trip? Sounds amazing, and your doing ivf around?? Also do you have what protocol artem from sept ivf did. Â I know I mentioned her last week and she had a rough couple of cycles with one normie in the bank and this cycle she just got 4 normies back and turns 40 today!! She's now going straight to transfer as she originally was prepping for an FET. I think she did the microdose lupron, hopefuljj I kno you've done so much research too I can't remember if you've tried that one before.Â

Thanks ladies!! you are so sweet. I feel like 21 is a good number! of course, going through all this, once you get good news you always start worrying about the next step.. now I'm worried about having unknown sperm issues since my embryos had a big drop from day 3 to day 5 and i have heard that can be a sperm issue. My RE kind of brushed that concern off, but i won't feel good until we see how many we have on day 5. Of course we are trying to do a fresh day 5 transfer, so I won't really know how many until I get there for transfer!

@jamieh2000 oh how exciting!!! 21 is a fab number! Sounds like things are really getting moving now! I'm so looking forward to hear as you go through the next weeks!!!
@hopefulmom I fly to China at the weekend, back in a few weeks, do baseline, stims, ER and ET, then travel the next week to sit in class in Munich all week (which should be as relaxing I can get without me going stir crazy stuck at home) and then back home in time for beta. Though I've promised DH if we get to round three I will take two weeks off sick after ET (it's possible here fully paid). We talked progesterone today too and my RE said I could have whatever form I wanted and if I want more I can have more, but he hasn't seen a need for me so far. And he warmed me all the symptoms will be worse the more I take, which certainly calmed me down lol! After your poor vag story there's no way I'm doing twice daily vaginally!!!!!!!
@hopefuljj I can only imagine where you are in the process emotionally. If you read the end section of my epic spoiler you will see we talked DE with the RE today. For me it was a theoretical discussion still and it felt comfortable. But after in the car DH asked a lot of questions and he is clearly not ready to even talk about it yet. But knowing him it's good that he parks it in his brain now and in a few months he will be ready to talk at least enough to understand what it is all about. And that fits nicely with our timeline for now. For him adoption seems to be a no go, but I'm a "never say never" kind a gal.Â
So the short version is I'm looking at next CD1 being Nov 1 or 2 and free light for round two with extra testing between now and then. Details in the spoiler for anyone interested - um and I mean details! (Copy from November IVF thread)
Today was my follow up. And I have to say bless my RE we were 1.5 hours with him going through everything!!! - First of all he did an US and there is no cyst, so that's good. Also I have one follie who looks like he's the "one" this month as it's CD7 and he's already 15mm. There are another two on the left around 5mm and one very small on the right. So an AFC of 4 which is really really good for me. Also my lining was already 9.5mm and tri-laminar. So he suggested HIO for the next 4 days ED until I fly to China as you never know! - The cramping I'm feeling he thinks is just the last effects from the progesterone. There was nothing to see on US but I've released my pelvic MRI to him (done by my RA) so he will check that to see if there's anything to see though we don't expect anything. - With my AFC of 1-4 and AMH of 0.65 he reconfirmed we should only expect 1-2 eggs each cycle. Whilst the insurance is paying for meds he said no harm to try again with meds but after that he's happy to take us without stims, just Ganirelix and trigger to not waste money and have less side effects if we need/want - We will start with same stims as last time (Pergoveris 225 - which is the FSH/LH combi) and potentially step down or step up. And if one doesn't work try the other in cycle 3. We don't add Menopur as it is the same as the Pergoveris. We discussed potentially using FSH only in a future cycle but he is concerned about lack of egg maturity then. - We discussed suppression and priming at length. He still thinks suppression will give no real benefits for me, risk not getting started well again after and will waste a1-3 months. With Estrogen priming with my low AFC he doesn't think it will help, but might add some Estrogen in after the ER with the progesterone this time so long as my levels are like last time as again at that point it might help lining etc and won't do any harm. For testosterone he said with my numbers he has never seen a positive outcome and again has seen negative ones so does not recommend it "pure". The DHEA he can't prescribe in country, however I could do self pay through his colleague in New York but they already discussed my case and neither of them thinks I'm a good candidate. - We talked HGH and this again is not possible domestically so he said we should think about it if we get to cycle 4 and take the additional prescription from his colleague and have it shipped in. If we use DHEA or HGH in an insurance cycle it would invalidate the coverage. But he said the research is so far only anecdotal (he even showed me on the screen the research he has reviewed again in the last weeks) doesn't suggest I would be a good candidate - As my follie seems to be selected early he's happy for me to start stims whenever I want CD2-4 - We will start monitoring on day 3 of stims (so after only 2 nights of injections) in case we want to start the Ganirelix earlier - He confirmed my embryo from last cycle was beautiful. I even signed off that he could use a photo of it in a paper he is writing. He said it was ahead of the average development until the point we transferred which he sees as a good sign. Also why he didn't want to change much in the stim part of the cycle. - But to give any future for embies the best chance we will go with assisted hatching from now on. He had already got pre approval from the insurance for it. - Having previously said I need three failed cycles before I can have further testing (or three MCs or a loss/child with proven genetic issues) he had taken my case to the genetics approval board and  insurance company and has got approval to run full genetic screening for me as well as an RPL panel. So I gave 14 vials of blood today and signed all the paperwork! Results should be back in around 2 weeks so we can factor anything in before we start. - Based on my previous BW, what he saw in ER/ET, other history and conditions he is expecting to need to prescribe heparin but needs the results first as it's strictly controlled here - I asked about baby aspirin as a starting point and he said I should use it for this natural cycle until we get the results, but if results come back for any IVF cycles we hit it hard. - We talked potential intralipids and he will follow up with the national specialist Centre who is 1.5 hours from me to see if he can get me in (as it doesn't do any harm) - He has discussed with my RA and they are waiting for my BW from this Monday to come back but might double my RA meds through the next cycle to see if that helps, or add in some additional meds. This month no harm to go with the Benadryl as a temporary measure. - We talked acupuncture and he fully supports it. He said he can't explain why it has a beneficial effect always but again it does no harm and clearly shows a positive correlation to good outcomes so gave me some pointers and I'll be trying to get in at a good one tomorrow. - At the moment as we aren't freezing in any cycles due to low numbers then an ERA doesn't really help and if we do a mock cycle we are again delaying (and I'm really on a clock!) - but he said when we think it might be our last OE cycle he would suggest to do it before. But it's up to me, he would be happy to do it any time and then we would have to figure out a strategy to achieve it if it showed a problem with timing - Lastly I asked if he thought we were crazy still trying with OE and if he was just not saying but thinking we should go to DE. Here he said for him if I can yield mature eggs he is happy to keep trying - but it should not be about him, it should be about us. That there's the money - when is our limit and how many cycles can we afford. And the time/effort - we both have big jobs and especially for me each cycle means a lot of time out and limits on traveling. And of course the emotional part - he said some couples can really keep going for ten cycles without success whereas for others one or two cycles is the limit. He also reconfirmed that DE is not available in Germany, so we would have to get frozen eggs from another country (and go through some major legal hoops) or go overseas for DE treatment. But for now it's plan B.Â
Overall was a very intense discussion but I came away feeling really listened to, taken seriously and happy that my RE suggested half the things on my list himself without me asking. I feel like we are on the same path and I think that really helps in the tough times.

@emmasemm I have to say I really like your RE and feel like he is on it!!! It's so interesting Germany doesn't to DE? I'm kind of shocked.  It's always interesting what's allowed in one place and not another. I originally asked my RE about HGH and got the big NOPE!!  Still too experimental for them.  I'm thrilled he was able to get extra testing out of the way sooner!! Is insurance insane!!! You want woman to endure such pain before approving things!!! These rules were made by men or woman who are clueless, it makes me so angry!!! you are certainly going to be busy during it all which is good as long as you have ur meds with u!! Once cycle I was taking the meds to work with me as I was never getting home early enough to take them which was really a pain in the ass!!! Then after help from past ivfers on this board actually said as long at it's the same time every  night ur fine.  So 11:30pm was stem time which was less stressful for sure!! Traveling with meds trying to keep them cold everyday was not my idea of fun!!!  Just remember to not do heavy lifting! Always try to pamper yourself!!
OHHHH and I don't know how sensitive ur vag is BUT I think once a day of crinone could be ok
its td a shane there's no way to kno until u go through it!! Have benedryl on hand just in case!

@emmasemm- thanks for sharing those notes of your conversation with the RE! Great reference guide for us all! I think your RE sounds great and I'm so hopeful you will have success if you keep trying. How many cycles does your insurance cover? Also, can't wait to hear about your trip to China and the fun things you do!
@hopeful_mom- just a comment about the HGH. My RE told me that its not FDA approved and those REs using it could lose their license if the FDA wanted to make that happen. So mine won't prescribe it and was shocked my prior RE prescribed it.. she mentioned something about the FDA starting to crack down on it. So I am always suprised how many ladies' REs do prescrribe it.. including my prior one! Â As far as my DHs sperm.. he has 2% normal morph, when it should be 4% (based on this test), Â but given his high counts and motility, they said it shouldn't have impacted anything naturally. But for IVF we did do ICSI, so I assume we will do that for donor too, but I need to check.

HI. I just got on this forum. I am 39 yrs old, with low AMH- 0.18-0.77 range. AFC-7-10; FSH 4.6; I have done two rounds of egg freezing to try to preserve anything I have since I don't have a partner to start a family with at this time. I was in two long term relationships and wasted a lot of time in them. Both of my cycles I got only 4 mature eggs, and 5 total eggs at most from the 9-10 follicles I had. This last time I had 7 good sized follicles, great estradiol levels and we were totally optimistic that I would get the 7 eggs from the follicles but RE said I had some empty follicles.  Anyhow, I was wondering if others had same issue of responding to stim even if only getting 6-7 follicles of good size, however not retrieving eggs from them all. What reason did they give? I was concerned that my trigger didn't work and now I have heard of people doing two triggers. Any feedback would help. I was one Lupron micro-dose agonist protocol, with Estrogen priming, used 150 menopur, 450 follistim and some HGH along the way as well. Thanks
Hi. I have DOR and just had a second egg retrieval for freezing as I don't have a partner. I am 39 yrs old so age is not on my side. AMH 0.18-0.77 (average is about .59), FSH 4.6, and AFC 7-10. I was wondering how you went from 2 eggs retrieved in IVF cycle 2 to 12 eggs retrieved, 8 mature at your next IVF cycle? How many follicles did you have in IVF cycle 2? This last cycle really was upsetting. As I did not have any lead follicles, they were growing well, good sized and Estradiol was high and MD and I were feeling good. We were looking to get 7 eggs from 9 follicles, that were all 19-23 at least on day of retrieval but he said I had several empty follicles and only got 4 eggs. I am wondering what happened and if the trigger didn't work full strength or if I ovulated some of the eggs early. The MD hasn't called me since retrieval to discuss what might have happened. I am looking to see if I can get any answers from the forum.
@JamieH2000 - How did it go with Donor #2 this Sept.
If anyone else has any insight or went through something similar, I would really appreciate any support. Thanks everyone for sharing your stories, it helps to not feel alone and confused. thanks and good luck and baby dust for your all.
@knottie911d6f746a3c0233 hi and welcome!! Exciting that you're looking to the future and doing ER. Â Are you using a donor and freezing blast or just Eggs?? Â Can they tell without fertilization if your eggs are mature??
Each ivf cycle is different for us all!! It sounds like you're doing 2 different protocols in one. Â You're stats are pretty good I totally understand your disappointment for sure!! Â The cycle I did microdose lupron i had disappearing follies and I started with 7 showing and at the end I had one and converted to an IUI. Â
IVF #7 was the first time I had an empty follie and I was hoping to get between 5/6 that cycle and got 4, I cried right after ER and it was the largest one that was empty. Â It's not as uncommon as you think. Â Some of the ladies previously on this board had some empty ones as well.
were ur levels high that you think u ovulated?? I've never heard of some ovulating prior, it's usually all or none.
are you planning on doing another ER?

I did a micro-dose Lupron cycle with Estrogen priming before period and HGH during stimulation.Â
I am freezing eggs only for now. I unfortunately, will not know if they are any good till I fertilize, which I know is a drawback. I keep debating if I should fertilize some with a sperm donor for better odds if I don't find a partner soon.
I am thinking about whether I will do another round since I am getting 4 per round at this point. And spending so much money of the meds and procedure on my own. I am waiting for the MD to call me to discuss what he thinks is the issue and possible things we can do for future rounds.
Because of my age, I also really have to consider trying to conceive soon since I am almost 40.
It makes me feel less bad that this kind of thing happens but it was totally unexpected. MD told me right out anesthesia that I only got 4 eggs from the 7 follicles. This ER #2 cycle had no lead follicles. I was optimistic this time and so was my MD , cause the follicles grew synchronized and were much bigger than my first retrieval. My Estradiol was 2600.
I now I understand egg may have been stuck in lining of follicle. I was worried by HCG trigger was bad cause it looked off, but I showed my nurse a photo the vial of pregnyl I took and she said it looked ok? Â
@Hopeful_mom What protocol did you use after the Lupron Micro-dose didn't work? Are you still doing any treatment? I am also stressed as I don't know what I am doing in my personal relationship with BF as well.
@Knottie92110360 Can you see My signature?  I'll put my novel of a story for you in the spoiler box.
you're in a tough situation as I've been told embryos freeze better then just eggs. Â I know what you're going through its so hard and scary but if becoming a mother is your dream maybe consider one round with a donor, do pgs and see how strong your eggs are. Â I'm sure I'm throwing a lot at you! I've been where you are but wasn't as brave to actually do an ER on my own. Â I finally found my mr right and still waited too long to go for help.
TW i love fresh transfer as that's how I got my first ever BFP with twins and by 10wks it was over and I lost both. Â I know one was normal but the other inconclusive and no good reason for the MC why I'm more of a basket case now. Â Why my OH wouldn't do another cycle without pgs so I banked and did freeze all. Â
Im not saying pgs is an answer but trying to give you an idea as my RE made me feel as the clock was on high speed for me, and I want u to get the best results!!  I'm OOP as well and know that burden as well!!
TW***  Here's my story its a bit of a novel but i'll give is a whirl Did 7IUI hate that I wasted the time as age is probably my biggest issue as to why I'm having issues TTC from the beginning.  I have low AMH so to me that is a ticking time bomb as it does mean i do not have a lot of time left to make good normal eggs.  So they lie when they say age is only but a number.  Age is is decided on what your AMH is OK -  I've done 8 cycles of ivf and 6 ER .  First cycle we canceled, was regular antagonist One as I didn't have OH sample...note to self - always have a frozen sample on hand!  AND my RE thought I should've had more eggs to retrieve this is an expensive process not to get a good amount to work with.  I then thought one more month wait AND OH being stuck out of town took the decision out of my hands...even though I stemmed, triggered and gained all the weight from that cycle .  Now on to #2 I tried a different protocol to get more and it was HORRIBLE, (microdose lupron) i had disappearing, reappearing follies all to end up with one follie ready to go after 2 weeks of stemming...so we converted to IUI.  On to #3 going back to original protocol from ivf #1 antagonist and I make even less eggs so i'm doing ER regardless now!  I get 3 and all 3 fertilize yes! Now because of everything my RE feels we transfer all 3 on day 3.  To my delight I get my first BFP ever, blessed with twins  I then had my dream shattered losing them at 10wks...worst experience of my life as they were healthy and fine that morning as i had an appt so we saw everything was perfect and i lost them later that night...we still dont know why. SOOOO I heal which took a while I had a horrific MC (none are fun, but mine was bad and has to be rushed to the hospital)  Ok so now with having low AMH and my age, wanting to be a mother more then anything I'm going to bank normal embryos now (which means now I will add pgs testing)....I only thought of doing 2 - 3 cycles and then moving on to being pregnant.  My body had other plans with giving me no normal embryos in cycle 4.  (Which was antagonist protocol with estrogen priming.  Had my best response with 10 eggs but all no good) Brokenhearted is beyond especially as i got the results as i was stemming for cycle 5.  I still moved on with the cycle and got 6 for testing which was huge!!  And luckily finally got 2 normies back.  IVF 6, I didn't retrieve as much only had 3 for testing but was blessed and got 2 normies back!  They say you need 2-3normies for a viable pregnancy so I wanted to get 5/6 before moving on to FET.  I'm 41 and they say at 42 it will be so hard to get normies so it really is now or never to make them.  IVF 7 - 3 for testing again, now the tricky one with this is originally my results had one that was inconclusive So I had to thaw my lil embaby and have it retested...glad i did as its another normie  BUT I then already started IVF 8, which I got 7, but one egg apparantly was a dead egg - something no one wants to here.  Did icsi on the 6 and 5 fertilized.  My Day 3 report showed they were all still growing with 2 a lil behind.  3 made it for testing and none came back I wanted to finish IVF on a good note but it is what it is.Â
Regardless of my outcome my body had enough. Â I've done the trigger shot 6times and the last time i had an allergic reaction so on all fronts my body and mind are done with IVF and ready for my first FET!! Â
the rest of my journey doesn't matter for ur purpose but for hope I had my transfer sept 18 using that inconclusive fighter from ivf 7 and here I am 6wks praying my pnut is here for the long haul, my miracle take home baby!!

@knottie911d6f746a3c0233 I'm sure this process is hard and not sure whether you're bf is supportive but that what we are here for, feel free to ask us whatever we can help with.  When I first got my results of low amh back in feb of 2016 this board I found was a g-d sent.  I stayed up all night reading from page one like it was a novel and it was good to here people during the ups and downs and have success.  Unfortunately it's like you're a ginea pig or trial and error.  I wish I had more time to try other things but my age being what it is I went back to the antagonist protocol and added estrogen priming.  I did 5 cycles back to back so I didn't have time to dull prime and one cycle I didn't and 3 out of he 5 cycles have me normies.  Each cycle is different why I think it's good to do more gen one cycle to freeze so you have options just in case.
hope u enjoyed my novel!Â

@hopeful_mom thanks a lot. Really you are my inspiration going through so many cycles and now having success. And yes I'm really happy with my RE so far. In general Germany is really conservative which I knew but I was shocked that certain things are much easier even in other European countries are much more difficult here. With the genetic screening and testing as well as the medicines that are available. Even paracetamol here is available at half the dosage it is in the US! However because IVF is not a "business" here then that has helped to keep the prices relatively low. All couples who meet the criteria (married, certain age, results etc) get three cycles paid 50% including meds. I don't like to mention it on here too much as I don't want to rub it in everyone's faces, but each average cycle costs around 3000 EUR - so we pay 1500 for each of the first three, and after that pay roughly 3000 a time. ICSI adds another 1000 per cycle and if we would get approval for PGS then that would be around 3500 per batch tested. I also last time had "fun" juggling meds timing and travel and working late.Â
@Jamieh2000 thanks a lot. And yes that was the idea of sharing so that others can take whatever might be useful for them from it. And interesting on the HGH - I guess nobody from the FDA reads these forums! My RE said there is a way with applying for special case exceptions and for inclusion in research trials. And this is how he would get it for me if nothing else works.
@knottie911d6f746a3c0233 sorry you are with us on this journey but welcome to an amazing group of ladies! Firstly it would be great if you can change your username so it's easier to tag you. I think you need to go back to the knot, change it there and then log out and log back in again. I would echo @hopeful_mom in that embryos are proven to do better with cryopreservation than eggs. Even if it's not all, maybe it would be worth to have the eggs from ur next ER fertlized with donor sperm. This would give you two benefits- you would have a good idea how well your eggs fertilize and develop to blasts, plus you would have blasts as backup in case you don't get a good quality thaw rate of your frozen eggs. Also my RE told me and others on here have confirmed they heard the same, the expected average result is based on the combination of AMH and AFC. I for example have AMH 0.65 (it is normally quite stable and only goes down, the lowest value is the one you should take - unless you've had success raising it consistently over several months after e.g. CoQ10) and AFC between 1 and 4. So the average outcome is 1-2 eggs per cycle for me. It's not a linear relationship and the curve can be shifted by PCOS for example. But most REs should be able to gauge the response expected so you know that ahead of time. Your AFC is still pretty good and your FSH is low (I assume that was day 3?), I would love to have your numbers as although with a similar age the chance to find a viable egg is the same, you just don't have to go through so many retrievals on average to age a chance to find that viable one. As for the relationship side of things, well I also met my DH very late. I can't say what I would have done if I hadn't met him when I did. But I have friends who have done the Donor Sperm route and afterwards met "the one" and for their partners it was no different to getting together with any single mother, whether natural conception or not.Â

@knottie911d6f746a3c0233- sorry you are in this situation too! I am similar to @hopeful_mom, where the microdose lupron did not work for me. I attribute my increase in eggs in my third cycle to the protocol change. I did estrogen priming, and then max doses of stims (450 follistim/150 menopur) and antagonist. While everyone is different of course, most ladies on here have seemed to have the best success with estrogen priming and antagonist. Though another lady on another board just had great success with MDL, so it is a bit of a guessing game. If you are able to keep doing cycles and maybe create a few embryos with donor sperm, that may be a good option to hopefully get a few embryos on ice. Though I totally get the financial part of all of this. We have somewhat considered moving to IL (to get 3 cycles covered) or Massachusetts (though I think they have an age limit of 40 or something before DOR isn't infertility).

@JamieH2000 I'm with you!!! We need to write our book and get coverage for all!!!
AFM: Excited for monday and nervous at the same time. (TW) You know I was so sick my last BFP at 6w and even though I didn't make it past 10WK, I'm nervous I'm not as nauseas right now...which I'm thrilled too. It was debilitating last time but that was for 2...so i'm trying to stay optimistic and positive but its hard!!! I just keep thinking I would feel more relaxed feeling the lil one move around...so lets go 2nd trimester  The innocence of this process is gone and we all truly know too well what can happen so its freaky!!! Â
@jamieh2000 your journey alone is a lifetime movie!! And ur FET board it really is true just how insane the experience is...and I dont mean to pour salt in the wound either. But being a donor comes with responsibility! What they are doing is great BUT they are also being paid for it (usually) so its a job and that means you are doing everything in your power to have a good cycle...and that means no BD for you!! Forget my vag fire over here but I'd be on lock down anyway so it makes me mad!! AND she shouldn't had to cover the legal fees! Everything happens for a reason but it still angers me!!!

@hopeful_mom-  you are right, but I’m just really hoping the whole hiccup with the first Donor was what was meant to be. Hopefully we will get even more embryos with this more proven Donor! I’m sure if I was in your shoes I would be worried about not having the same symptoms as last time but you got this! Monday is going to be great!

All Bb's.Â

Back for # 2!

AFM:Â Sent an email to my RE to follow up. Â My US is next Monday which still feels like forever away!!Â
However im more concerned that my vag is bothering me more on the outside now. Â I'm just boggled. Â I can't believe if it's heat rash or what. Â I've never talked about my vag so much! It's like the vagina monologues it's crazy! Â But I think when ur in such pain u don't care who knows. Â So I'm actually concerned with that.

@hopeful_mom- sorry your vag isn't feeling better
AFM- I had baseline this morning, and sounded like the ovaries are quiet.. not sure if they are calling today or not since the donor baseline isn't until wed. That is what I am really nervous about since it all went wrong there last time. I did get the final legal today, so thats one step closer.. but just scared about everything in this process now! We are going to the Smokies in 10 days to see the fall colors, so excited for a quick weeknd get away. Hopefully it will distract me while the donor is stimming!

Whilst the insurance is paying for meds he said no harm to try again with meds but after that he's happy to take us without stims, just Ganirelix and trigger to not waste money and have less side effects if we need/want
- We will start with same stims as last time (Pergoveris 225 - which is the FSH/LH combi) and potentially step down or step up.
But he said the research is so far only anecdotal (he even showed me on the screen the research he has reviewed again in the last weeks) doesn't suggest I would be a good candidateÂ
- As my follie seems to be selected early he's happy for me to start stims whenever I want CD2-4
- We will start monitoring on day 3 of stims (so after only 2 nights of injections) in case we want to start the Ganirelix earlier
- He confirmed my embryo from last cycle was beautiful.
- Based on my previous BW, what he saw in ER/ET, other history and conditions he is expecting to need to prescribe heparin but needs the results first as it's strictly controlled here - I asked about baby aspirin as a starting point and he said I should use it for this natural cycle until we get the results, but if results come back for any IVF cycles we hit it hard.Â
- We talked potential intralipids and he will follow up with the national specialist Centre who is 1.5 hours from me to see if he can get me in (as it doesn't do any harm)
- He has discussed with my RA and they are waiting for my BW from this Monday to come back but might double my RA meds through the next cycle to see if that helps, or add in some additional meds.
But it's up to me, he would be happy to do it any time and then we would have to figure out a strategy to achieve it if it showed a problem with timing
- Lastly I asked if he thought we were crazy still trying with OE and if he was just not saying but thinking we should go to DE.
I feel like we are on the same path and I think that really helps in the tough times.

you are certainly going to be busy during it all which is good as long as you have ur meds with u!!

@JamieH2000

Hi.. @Hopeful_mom. Thanks for your reply.
Thanks for the support. sorry so long.
you're in a tough situation as I've been told embryos freeze better then just eggs.
TW
i love fresh transfer as that's how I got my first ever BFP with twins and by 10wks it was over and I lost both.
OK - Â I've done 8 cycles of ivf and 6 ER . Â First cycle we canceled, was regular antagonist One as I didn't have OH sample...note to self - always have a frozen sample on hand! Â AND my RE thought I should've had more eggs to retrieve this is an expensive process not to get a good amount to work with. Â I then thought one more month wait AND OH being stuck out of town took the decision out of my hands...even though I stemmed, triggered and gained all the weight from that cycle
IVF 7 - 3 for testing again, now the tricky one with this is originally my results had one that was inconclusive So I had to thaw my lil embaby and have it retested...glad i did as its another normie

In general Germany is really conservative which I knew but I was shocked that certain things are much easier even in other European countries are much more difficult here.
With the genetic screening and testing as well as the medicines that are available. Even paracetamol here is available at half the dosage it is in the US!Â
And interesting on the HGH - I guess nobody from the FDA reads these forums!Â

I just keep thinking I would feel more relaxed feeling the lil one move around...so lets go 2nd trimesterÂ
Everything happens for a reason but it still angers me!!!

hoping the whole hiccup with the first Donor was what was meant to be. Hopefully we will get even more embryos with this more proven Donor! I’m sure if I was in your shoes I would be worried about not having the same symptoms as last time but you got this! Monday is going to be great!
