Is Marlow terrible?

Re: Is Marlow terrible?

  • Even though this version is spelled Marlow, I immediately thought of the writer Christopher Marlowe.  I love literature, so I didn't think it was that terrible.

  • I like Marlo, but I LOVE Margot. It was my top girl pick (but I have twin boys). The other names on your list are NMS.

  • I know a Marlo (no W) and the name suits her wonderfully. Its unique but still beautiful. I think its a wonderful name.
It also always reminds me of Margot.

I also definitely have to say i LOVE Matilda, Its high on my personal list.
  • Marlow - I really like it but I do prefer Margo
Mabel - I like it but don't love it
    Maeve - Love
    Matilda - Like
Winifred - I like Wilhelmina but not Winifred
    Edie - Dislike
    Edwina - Dislike
    Winter - Love
  • I've known a girl Marlo and never met anyone else with that name, so I automatically thought girl. I prefer it spelled without the 'w' personally. It is definitely not my style but I don't hate the name.
  • I love Edie (If you make it short for Edith which is a beautiful name). My mom's name.
  • I think fonts same actress and always thought it was an old fashioned girls name. I kindA like it but would spell it without the w. Of your others Inlike Edie and Mabel. Matilda is cute but if the nn would be Mattie then no, way too popular. I don't see Marlo as being trendy at all! I have never met anyone who names their kid this so it seems the opposite of a trend to me.
  • I love Mabel, and if you want something ofdbeat I like the flow of Mabel Winter a lot actually.

  • Meredith is great for you. you like M names and the "dith" ending can honor your grandmother Judith. A namesake need not be identical...
  • When I first read Marlow, my first thought was it sounded like a boy's name. :/ Most of your names I don't really care for but I think my favorite of the list would be Matilda.

  • Dislike all but Matilda. Like Judith the absolute least. Looks like you like the older names. Ruby? Pearl? Adeline? Cora?

  • I like Marlow, and know a beautiful little 2yo Marlow. I also like the other names on your list. And I wouldn't care what my mom thought about Judith. She has hated all of the names we have chosen for our kids so far, but you know what? Once the babies are born she is head over heels in love with them. This time I'm not even going to share our names with her (we are also team green) ahead of time, so that instead of forming an opinion about a name, I can just hand her her newest grandchild and introduce the baby to her as she's already fallen in love. She will love the baby first then the name, instead of hating the name first.
