Trouble TTC

First RE meeting

My first RE meeting was yesterday. It was day 3 of my cycle. He wanted to it me on Clomid and start IUI right away. Just left from my Ultrasound and bloodwork and I take first Clomid pill today. I am nervous and excited. Also disappointed because my DH had a previous analysis of 7 million a month ago. This time, it was only 1,7 million.
Me: 28 - no known issues DH: 32 - MFI - low count and low morphology TTC since 3/2014 IUI #1 cycle started

Re: First RE meeting

  • Congrats on your new treatment plan.  I'm assuming that you've had all of your testing (HSG, etc)?   if you haven't already, you might want to have your DH see a urologist, there are things that can be done to get his count and quality up (including Clomid for him).   Good luck!

  • Yep, all my bloodwork was fine and a fine HSG. The urologist never mentioned Clomid for him. He only mentioned lifestyle changes... And my RE said that the lifestyle changes are great for his health, but he's not a great believer in their ability to increase sperm count. Should I ask he RE about Clomid for him, or just go back to the urologist?

  • @hrenee721  I would call the urologist with the new result and ask about it.   You can also order Fertility Blend online, it actually does help.    Lifestyle changes are always good, but I've seen first hand some major turnarounds with the use of Clomid and/or  FertilityBlend (herbal treatment) in sperm count, depending on the original diagnosis.    Good luck!

  • I was told my by RE that CoQ10 is a quick, very effective way to increase sperm count. One a day can increase the count within a month. Also, it helps improve egg quality in women. Of course, ask your RE first, but it may be a good place to start :)

  • @blsav23 is CoQ10 a vitamin or something that you have to get perscribed by your RE?

  • @smfeuro it is a vitamin that you can buy over the counter. It's fairly expensive but is good for pretty much everyone to take. As always, check with your RE before starting anything but I was told it works on the cellular level of both sperm & eggs to improve quality. My husband & I both took it while TTC.
