How did your appointment go? It was a very quick appt. They just asked me when my last period was, gave me the referral number for the midwives and answered some of my questions.
Did your doctor answer any questions you had? First of all I asked about going to Disney World next week and she was perfectly happy with it. She even said I
didn't have to skip rides unless I felt that they were too
uncomfortable for me- she didn't feel there was any indications that
they might harm the bean this early on. She told me to make sure I was hydrated and to get enough rest while I was there.
I also asked her about airbrush makeup because my BFF is making me get that for her wedding. She said she didn't know if it was safe or not, it would depend on the ingredients, but not to worry about it too much. She said most products say not safe for pregnancy to CYOA not because they are unsafe.
She then explained to me the pregnancy process in the UK health system. I have to self refer to the midwives who arrange all the appointments. My first actual appointment in an office will be in October and this is normal.
When is your next appointment?
I called the midwives and my first 'booking in' appointment will be 20 October. My first ultrasound scan will be 13 November. It seems so far away right now!
I had my dating US yesterday. It was good for the most part. The baby is measuring on track for the most part. However, the booked me because I was 6w1d per my LMP and I know I ovulated late and expected to be a little behind. As a result, we could see the little heartbeat (!) but they couldn't get a good measure of the beat/minute.
I have to go back next week to check the HR again.
I spoke to my doctor today and my blood draw from yesterday was great and everything is progressing as it should... so I shouldn't be nervous... but it would have been nice to get a good HR yesterday and have that 'done'.
On the plus side, I get to see the little bean again next week.
A little sidenote/AW - I had DH come with DS (15 months). They were sitting next to me. DS sat there quietly watching the screen and holding on to my foot while the tech did the US. It was the sweetest little thing! My heart could have melted right there.
Omg @lest12 that visual of your DS sitting there and holding onto your foot made me tear up. That is the sweetest thing ever. And congrats on the good ultrasound!!
How did your appointment go? Holy cow I didn't know I could be poked and prodded so much! I got a pap smear, TVUS, TONS of labs (I almost fainted they took so much blood, literally like 100cc if I counted right before he started.) There was nothing on the US but they think I may only be 4 weeks so I go back tomorrow morning for more lab work (yay!...) to recheck levels to make sure everything looks ok, still waiting to hear about yesterdays lab levels.
Did your doctor answer any questions you had? She gave me prenatal samples rather than a recommendation so I have about 2 weeks worth of PNV samples to test out, I got a script for diclegis for nausea (she said if I am this nauseated now it's gonna be awful soon), and answered a few questions but didn't have time for many. We are focusing on there being a baby in there right now.
When is your next appointment? Blood draw tomorrow and if all looks good TVUS week after next to recheck for fetal pole and heart beat.
I had an appointment with my RE today. It went well. I had an ultrasound done. I saw the sac in the uterus. I go back next week to hopefully hear the heart beat.
I was so relieved everything was fine, that I forgot to ask any questions lol
I had bloodwork done yesterday at my first appointment. They said HCG had to be above 5000 before they would schedule an US. Mine came back at 8300 so we have an ultrasound scheduled for next Wed, 9/16. Even with me knowing I ovulated late, should be able to see the heartbeat then!
Still fighting this awful cold, but other than feeling exhausted and crummy from that, all seems to be good!

KKMalinowski Check with your prescription insurance on the Diclegis. It often requires a prior authorization which can take a while to get approved.
KKMalinowski Try the Diclegis at night. It can make you really tired. It worked great for me in the past taking it at night to not be a zombie during the day. I also take my prenatal a night which helps. I take the prenatal by Best Nest Wellness (available on amazon). I highly recommend it.
How did your appointment go? Great. Got to skip the full check up and pap due to just having it done with my last pregnancy in February. So that was a bonus. I also got a goody bag! I didn't get one last time because I had gotten one a year prior with my first. We did another blood draw to check my HCG and Progesterone as well.
Did your doctor answer any questions you had?I had blood taken last week. She said my numbers were good. My progesterone was nice and high (55 at 4wks), but she wants me to keep taking the oral progesterone with my history of losses. Just one less thing to worry about if I'm taking it. I asked about stopping it or decreasing the dose and she said it's best to keep taking what I'm on.
She gave me the option of waiting on doing an U/S for when we are past where I was with my previous losses or do a dating U/S to see a HB next week and follow up 2 weeks after. I opted to schedule the U/S. We know seeing a HB doesn't mean anything with me due to having a strong HB with my two losses. I still want to see and let myself be excited or know sooner that something is wrong. She said she'll have me in every 2 weeks until we are out of the first trimester for peace of mind. I am very thankful for this.
When is your next appointment? U/S in one week (6th week) and then U/S and Dr. visit two weeks after that (8th week).
I had an appointment Tuesday. I was shocked because I had a vaginal ultrasound and we were able to hear the heartbeat at 6 weeks! I wasn't expecting that and didn't have my husband go with me and felt awful that he wasn't there. I didn't have any questions at the time. I have another appointment in 4 weeks.
Had my blood test at the RE office on Tuesday and the numbers were good except for progesterone. They put me on a progesterone suppository. Went back again today and they did an ultrasound. Saw the sac and the fetus in there measuring .388 cm at 5 weeks 2 days. I'm going back Monday to see if they can make out a heartbeat. I'm so relieved that they found something on the ultrasound and it was not all in my head!! I even got printouts to take home (although DH said he "couldn't see what he was looking at!").
The only bummer is my RE office is an hour and a half trip each way and Monday will be my third visit in 2 weeks. These 4.45 a.m. Wake ups to get the appointments done before work are killing me!!
