Going off on a tangent, but since so many of us are bookworms, there are some really cute book themed onesies on zulily today in the your smarty pants kid shop. Also some gaming and science themes ones, too!
Go with the flow, commitment-phobe FTM here. Meaning I selfishly like to make plans day to day, depending on my mood. What if something better comes up for one of us? I totally get it! Or what if I want to watch a marathon on Bravo by myself? You'll have to learn to deal.
Former hobbies include: Going to long leisurely dinners/happy hours, traveling, attending sporting events, and dancing at concerts. This person may come back someday, but don't expect a miracle just yet.
LO is a really chill sweet girl who enjoys being outdoors and generally doing most anything as long as you're prepared when she's hungry! She's interested in a wiggly companion to stare at and share her toys with!
My kinda gal! You should know and use the term "pre-bail."
"Wanna go out for wine Saturday?" "Yes... But it's supposed to rain, so I'm pre-bailing in case it does."
If you pre-bail, no guilt or surprise when you bail last minute. It's fantastic.

Love it! I love a legit excuse to bail and I've found that having a LO, who ironically I realize is the ultimate commitment, is often the perfect excuse!
@swaugh14@virginiaunicorn11 oh man! My biggest pet peeve is plans falling through, since if I commit to something it is set In stone (along with hell or high water me being on time). I'd have to swipe on your guys mommy-date profiles )

LOL! Nooooo, because you crack me up so much and I really would want to be mommy friends! Too funny.
SAHM of 3 month old baby boy and 1 year old golden lab ( yes I have 2 babies loves a good glass of wine, pets, tv shows, good company and positive people moved here from Europe a year ago. I would like to go on play dates in the park, walk in the mall, etc

You could be one of my elite few who I don't do this to. It's important to have the "set in stone" friend(s), too. It's the worst when you find yourself only with other non-committals. Because either you or they are always canceling, and suddenly six months have gone by. But you're going to have to expect me 15-20 minutes late, sorry...
@dancegurl1118@virginiaunicorn11 I am the same - I don't do this to everyone. As terrible as it sounds, DH and I half jokingly "tier" our friends. So if you're a high quality "tier 1" friend, I wouldn't want to bail on you anyway! If you're on the fringe - beware.
Also, I'm never late! So if I DO make a plan, I'll be there on time...even with an unpredictable LO.

I'm still friends with my childhood best friend (she's actually LO godmother) and she is always late. Once we hit our teenage years I learned to cushion the time...so if we needed to be somewhere by 3:30 I told her we needed to be there by 2:45 since she is always 20 min late at least.

If I know it's a pet peeve, I can get there on time. (After living in Germany for the year!) And my rule is to tell someone I'm late, with enough time so they can delay their departure. I don't make people wait if I can help it.
A friend (let's call her Mary) had a big falling out with another friend because Mary was always late. The friend arrived and waited almost an hour for Mary before she arrived. Mary's defense, which she still stands by, is, "You know me. You know I am ALWAYS very late. Why would you come to the bar on time, and not expect to have to wait?!"
I become tyrannical about lateness. I feel like before phones and texting lateness wasn't as acceptable. I don't even make excuses for LO as a reason to be late. I just plan for much more time. I'm painfully early for everything just because I view lateness as a sign of disrespect. Even when teachers would hold us over in class I would view it as disrespectful. I'm clearly crazy about time (and all my friends know that ) They even joked that LO better not be late or I would have a bone to pick with her at birth..
Obviously things happen that are unavoidable in life..but if any of my friends are those "sorry I'm always late" I call them out.
I wonder what's going to happen when I have a toddler AND a baby to wrangle. I'm going to probably eat my words.

@dancegurl1118 I'm the same way. I feel that being late is rude - it's like saying your time isn't worth as much as my time so why would I bother to be on time? I know things come up, but even when it's someone I know always is late, I still think it's insulting. I blame my mom. I was always the last kid to get picked up from practice and I was forgotten several times. So if you're habitually late, try to be on time for your kids because it sucks being the last one every time and they will remember.
With 2 kids, I'm not as punctual as I used to be but late for me is still less than 5 min. I do cut other moms slack because poop. And if I'm waiting in a bar, NBD.
This makes me feel so bad. I am an always late person. Not for everything, but definitely a lot of the time. I try so hard but i'm such a poor judge of time. I'll give myself an hour and a half to get ready and somehow i'm running around like crazy at the last minute. It's even worse now with the LO. The last thing I want others to think is that I don't value their time and that I am disrespectful. I honestly try, there is just something wrong with me. Lol
Yeah, I'm not one to be late either. I actually left a job because the Dr I worked for was habitually late (among other things, but that was a big peeve of mine). I also look at it as a sign of disrespect, not so much others disrespecting me but that I disrespect someone else if I am late for them. That Dr tho, I felt she disrespected her clients and me every day by always arriving over 15 minutes late. Because the clients always got pissed and yelled at me. One even said exactly the same as has been said here - "my time is just as valuable as Dr M's". Working for her just reinforced my punctuality. I've been having a hard time adjusting to being punctual with LO, but I'm working on it because it galls me. I was actually 5 min late for one of his appts and was horrified. Usually I've been just squeaking in at the last second, when they always want you to arrive 15 minutes early (and I used to adhere to that for them, often they would take me in early). I'm really working on the timing of getting LO fed and changed and ready to go under a time constraint, but its harder than I thought. Moms are definitely going to get some leeway with me with regards to time. And yeah, like Sammy K says, if I'm waiting in a bar, NBD. You'll just have some catching up to do once you arrive

Count me in too! I can make just about any cookie or quick bread GF. Cake I'm still working on but coffee cake is a breeze. I'm always testing out new recipes. Dairy free is going to be a little bit harder.

I've been to an X-Files convention! I just recently grabbed a box from my mom's house of magazine covers, comic books and t-shirts from my collectors heyday. (I think I recognized your username as a reference earlier!)

Busy mom of two little sweethearts and a fur baby puppy. I love to watch trashy TV and crime dramas. I'm addicted to puzzle books and I drink too much coffee. Looking for someone to hang out and watch TV with (judge free), drink coffee, and compare war stories. I love to bake so fresh goodies will always be provided. Loving wine a major plus. No dress code required, sweats are fine. Major sports nut so football, baseball, and especially hockey fans welcome. Must have a sense of humor and enjoy/participate in sarcasm and be a sympathetic ear to my bitching about whatever is bugging me that day. I love looking at Pinterest and pinning things I think I'm going to do but then never get around to. I'm an avid reader and will admit to sometimes reading trashy romance novels for something light and easy that doesn't require too much attention while reading because I'm always doing 2 things at once!

@cait7425 So much better! She is so happy and has stopped her inconsolable crying. She's sleeping better, but still up 2 times at night and doesn't nap well. But I'll take it, compared to where we were. I'm slowly adding foods back in, so at least I have a few more things I can eat. Thanks for asking!
@cait7425 oh my goodness. That dog is so cute. I told DH next dog is a golden doodle! Of course once I'm not working since it'll be a puppy (so never) Also...that hair!!!! So great.
I just texted a neighbor mom I met at my "newbies" to our town group asking if she wanted to come over for a drink before we went out to ladies night tomorrow. Eek! I hope she's not like...ehhhh I'm good thanks.

@dancegurl1118 thanks!!! We love her. She was our first baby. They are a great breed. My mom has 3! We are both teachers and got her at the beginning of summer. This way we had 2 months to train her. And the hair comes from me. I had the same locks when I was born.
Keeping my fingers crossed for your mom date. I tried to find a group on meetup.com for my area, but one wanted a membership fee and the other only has like 2 people in it lol. Maybe I'll go friend hunting at the library during story time or something.
