Friendship wanted. Apply within....

@dancegurl1118 gave me an idea for a new thread. As a "GTKY" kind of things for us moms. What would your profile say for a match making site for moms? Feel free to include a funny gif for entertainment value.

  • @hoodoll82 I DVR the Jude daily. There is a phenomenal 90's alternative station that popped up in CT 2 years ago and it is the bomb (trying to bring that phrase back). They also do a throw back hour at noon everyday and play only pre-2000 music. It's the greatest. Basically I fit all your requirements besides sci-fi...

Which station? Also ps I secretly think Marilyn Milian is a better judge, but Judy is more entertaining. Peoples Court tapes in NY or Stamford though, so I'm plotting a metro-north trip in my mind...
  • 104.1... Cuts out in Bridgeport but is all over the rest of the state. Maury also tapes in Stamford so you could really make a crazy day of it. I like the Jude because she doesn't entertain the crazy. On people's court they let it go on but my girl doesn't have time for the personal Bologna. Only the facts please.
TTC: 1/2014 BFP: 9/24 EDD: 6/8/2015 Sorry for the poor man's siggy...ticker won't load regardless of how many tips I read.

Have you lived in CT since you were a kid? I ask because 104.1 was the big alternative station when I was growing up there. Then they closed up shop a while back for a hip hop station I think? But I guess it came back, yay! They actually used to run a HUGE summer concert called... Wait for it.... "104-fest".

Also, my mom and sister go to a Maury taping every year for my mom's birthday. True story.
Your mom and sister sound awesome.
  • @KarasTwin and @klkonwi doesn't everyone watch E News? Although I have to admit since Baby I've been only catching bits and feel totally out of touch.
  • FTM of a 12 week old boy. Honestly if you can put up with the overload of harry potter, doctor who, pokemon and DBZ Abridged references and my love of Dean Koontz then we can be friends. :D

Random DBZ Abridged. I've seen a few of those but would relate more with just plain DBZ references. "Fu...Sion...HAAAA!" ;)

Solitary introvert new to mom life seeks pal who enjoys geek stuff like Star Wars and debating which suit is better - the Bat suit or the Predator suit. Ability to recognize references from many sources (movies, books, video games, commercials, cartoons) a plus. Does not need to like cats but must accept I love cats and adhere to house rules regarding cats (namely, do not EVER let the cat out). Affection for craft beer a plus. Must be comfortable with silences when the mood to talk is not present, and / or not hanging out when a solitary mood strikes.

Predator suit hands down, as a plus one of the songs TFS created for abridged made it into the resurrection F movie.

Correction- it was originally in the Japanese version of the show

FTM of an 11 week old boy who loves reading, trashy reality tv (teen mom, Kardashians, bachelor and bachelorette, etc), and sweet wines like riesling and Moscato. Enjoys country music and going to concerts. Seeking mommy friends with similar interests

Me, Me, Me!  I love all of the same things as you (especially the reality tv!), and miss going to country concerts.  Wanna be friends?  ;)

^^^ this! Back when I, you know, went places and had a life - I used to always bring my nook with me. That way, if I needed to, I could always just read instead of being social. Totally not unusual to see me at the bar to watch 'the game' with friends - beer at hand and nose in (e)book

    ETA @ChardeeMacDennis

And - @BabsTheBunny I know the predator suit, right? DH keeps saying the batsuit is better cause if you use the one from Batman Beyond it has propelled jets so you can fly. But I'm like - dude, the predator suit bends light, and has an ATOMIC BOMB built into the Pip Boy! Sheesh... [-(

Yes!!!! I hope LO loves country music, too! I went to Garth Brooks right before I got pregnant, Miranda Lambert a few days before I found out I was pregnant, and Eric Church in December. DH judges my reality tv addition, but I can't help it. Especially teen mom.
  • I love these! Thanks for starting this thread. But also, I'm kind of glad we got to bond first over what we do have in common. If this were a real "dating" site, I'd scroll right through some of my favorite regulars on here. And what I love about this board is it's gotten me to connect with people who I think I'm so different from, but then realize we actually have a lot in common.

Yes. This is a great one.

First time mom to adorable but extremely high maintenance daughter seeks friends to commiserate with. Former runner and lover of yoga, pilates, international travel, and good tv; currently spends a majority of the day in a gliding recliner in a darkened nursery listening to white noise. Avid reader (bangs through 3-4 books weekly on Kindle while trapped in nursery) and online shopper. Huge fan of Disney vacations (come to me for advice if you need it!), fried foods, and chocolate; currently mourning the loss of the ability to eat dairy on account of LOs sensitivity.

Even though it's been a while since I've been out of the country, I love talking about travel! And I totally get former fitness and dairy fanatic. I just saw a recipe for pumpkin cheesecake snicker doodles and I'm trying to see if I can make them dairy-free.
