To be induced or not to be induced...

Re: To be induced or not to be induced...

  • I was induced with all four of my babies....it went smooth and they are happy and healthy. Come to find out I most likely will be induced with this one as well. She's been breached the whole time and has no intention of moving. I do not want to C-section
    I'm confused.
Why would you be induced for a breech baby?
If baby is still breech come delivery (which you have plenty of time to flip) they would perform a c-section once baby has been carried to term, would they not?
This, why would they knowingly deliver a breech baby vaginally. Not to mention there is still plenty of time to baby to flip, so Idk why your doctor would already be making plans.

  • I have a question. If one is showing warning signs of pre-ecmpalsia, they might induce for that yes?

When we found out I had pre eclampsia with my first I had to go straight in for am emergency c section the next morning. I think it depends on the dr and what warning signs it is that your having.
  • The OB practice I go to has 4 doctors and any one of them could end up being at delivery depending on which doctor is on call that day. There is one doctor that I absolutely do not want to deliver my baby under any circumstances. He has such a bad "I went to medical school and have been delivering babies for 30 years, your concerns are non-consequential " attitude. I told this to one of the other doctors and they told me that it is my medical care and I have the right to refuse treatment from that doctor. So, you've always got that card to play. It doesn't have to be one doctor or the other.

I found this after trying to do some more research on my phone.

Good to know I can refuse to see him though.

So unless I misunderstood that, he shouldn't be practicing at all, at least not in PA! CRAZY!!
  • @MoonUnitNugget Exactly, so if he can't in one state he shouldn't in California either. I know that isn't how it works but still.

So why is he still in practice?!? That's crazy!

That's crazy! I don't blame you one bit.
  • I was induced with my first and hev ended up in NICU. I had not done my research, NICU chances and compilations increase when induced.
  • @dmiller1213 I have no idea. Scary though right. :-?
  • He said where she is not move the entire time it's most likely she won't. There is always hope though that she will slip on her own. But if not when I'm 39 weeks they will go in and flip her and then start me.

Ok whoa that's confusing. Your baby still has plenty of time to flip. I would hope they would try ECV before going in and flipping LO.
