Hi Ladies,
I'm 5ft 2, size 6-8 and around 8st. I'm wondering how quickly did other petite woman with the same sort of measurements as myself started to show. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and starting to show quite a bit!
Please can you let me know what everyone else is experiencing please
Re: Petite woman - when did you start to show
I was your size before my first pregnancy. I didn't show until 20 weeks or so. Even then I had to wear a real maternity shirt. I was like BOOM baby at 28 weeks.
My second (viable) pg I popped at 16 weeks. If you have tilted uterus then you can show a tiny bit earlier but the uterus doesn't emerge beyond your pelvic bone until after 12 weeks-- no matter how small you are.

I've put on 15 pounds since then, and while I'm bloated and bumpy, only my kids and dh can tell it's baby and not donuts. Ok, it might be donuts, too.
Anyway, after the first baby, it's not necessarily that you're showing so very much earlier, but your abs catch a whiff of that hcg floating around and they're like, "Nope. Uh Uh. We've seen this before. We'll see you in a year or so." And so even if it's not actually baby that showing, your abs just got out of the way of all the intestine and whatnot that the baby is pushing out of its usual space.
Or at least, I used to be haha - some of my more fitted trousers I can't do up anymore and I just bought a size 10 yoga trousers!
I'm 9+5, and think it's mostly bloat currently - especially as I'm also very very gassy, and the bloat grows throughout the day.
However, I'm still having to disguise it as we haven't yet announced publicly.
As for when, each person is different, every baby and uterus is different and it depends on your torso length too.
I am curious how my body will change with our second. I was about 10 lbs heavier pre-pregnancy this time, and certainly didn't regain my pre-motherhood physique, especially in the tummy area. I wouldn't say I was still carrying baby weight or even a "tummy" on me, but at 6 weeks I feel like I look the way I did at 20ish the first time around. Obviously there's a little extra mummy to love, and early baby bloat, but I really think this is just my body remembering the drill and making room early on!
By 9 weeks, I had an unsightly gas lump. None of that was baby. On days when the gas let up (rare), i had almost nothing by way of a real bump until about 20-21 weeks.
For reference, see images. The black outfit is me at 21 weeks. The blue shirtdress is me at 24 weeks so you can see i did a lot of growing during that time.
