You take a negative pregnancy test and add some filters until it almost looks like a positive. It's ridiculous.
Why would someone want to do this?

1) Pregnancy Test Checker is a free app that does this. You can upload a video on your phone & filter/black light away.
2) If you have to tweak an HPT then it's not really a positive, IMHO. You should be able to see a BFP clear as day to call it.
3) We don't do random HPT readings or tweakings as a general rule. We have enough clueless randoms, who can't seem to read the instructions, waiving pee sticks in our faces.
There's apps for it. Once when I was going crazy because I was convinced I was KU, I tried one. All it does it invert the colors and put it in black and white so a line that you may not be able to see as a squinter would show up in the pic. You would only be able to see a day before, mayyyyybe. Although I do really love when people put their wedding rings on their pee sticks to showcase the squinters...
Eta- it was actually really disappointing because I thought that way I would able to see the BFP. Double disappointing.

I still can't figure out WHY?!
Because I was TOTES preggo and the test was just wrong! Solid logic during my first month TTC. I may have a SS streak, I blame it on being an only child
First of all, round of applause for all the negativity and judgement people.. geez. Especially since my spouse and I have been trying to conceive for a year. Test tweaking is the act of taking a picture of a pregnancy test and then adjusting the exposure or contrast of the picture to see if a faint line is truly a colored line indicating pregnancy. During VERY early days of pregnancy, if you take a test too soon, the positive line is extremely faint.. If you continue to monitor and keep testing, your line will become darker and darker the more Hcg levels are doubled and you'll finally get your big fat positive. The positive line sometimes is so faint to the naked eye, or people see positive when you see negative. (Kind of like the color of that stupid dress that went viral. Was it black and blue or gold and white?) Taking a pregnancy test is supposed to be a simple process. You buy a test, take the test and then look and see if there is a second line. But it isn’t always such a simple process in practice. Sometimes positive pregnancy test results are extremely faint if taken in very early pregnancy. Because pregnancy is completely life changing, it’s natural that we want to know earlier and earlier if that test is positive. Sure, you can follow the test directions and wait a week to take a second test (as a side note: who are these people who can wait a week?). Or you can try to use other means to analyze the test. And so test tweaking was born.

No one is negative.
Opinions were asked for and given.
My opinion is tweaking tests is silly. Just test the next day or later the same day.
Seems like you are screwing with your mind to get the results you want. Just test later once it is a real BFP.

Well why in the ever loving eff wasn't THIS your OP instead of a vague one-liner that left the post open to all kinds of interpretation? *Admittedly I'm late to the party & this could have been a DD but really, you come on with an extremely vague & odd OP, get responses appropriate to what you posted, and are calling people who took time to respond judgy & negative? FFS. Look those words up in a dictionary. Responses that you don't agree with or hope for with this strange & vague OP =/= Judgy.
Just seems to me that it just makes more sense and takes much less effort to just wait and retest in a few days. Plus you don't have the extra disappointment when it shows up negative. I personally would Secon guess the tweak and end up retesting anyway

I think this is a huge, unreasonable reaction. We simply said we don't alter HPT photos. It's just not something done here. Generally, HPT photos are discouraged. Especially from folks that don't take the time, energy, knowledge & love to help build the community. We don't care to see random internet strangers' HPT. I'm not sure what that has to do with how long you've been trying?
<*snip* because I know exactly what test tweaking is>

-- I can wait a week if it means I don't have to fart around to see something that is not an obvious positive.
-- I've tweaked my own HPT & ended up feeling very let down when my AF arrived. It's not worth it to me, personally. I'd rather get a glaring positive a week later than get all line-eyed & giddy just to get my period. It's strictly personal preference.
If you get down with tweaking your HPT then that's cool. Download an app & go for it. However, do it yourself & don't come here asking us if we see lines through all kinds of filters & stuff. We, as a community, don't like it.
I've tweaked a couple for friends online & obsessed over my own at home. That's considerably different than AW my test to strangers that don't know me.
Preach it Prim! I did it once and it wasn't worth it. Waste of time and I doubt if I couldn't see a line on actual test, I wouldn't see it on a tweaked test. OP you need to call yourself. Just go do it if you want, I don't mind one way or the other. But don't try to convince people that's it's some fantastic way to find out you're KU...I'm already not, so what does the tweakinG help?

Hahaha no idea. To further convince themselves they are pregnant when they aren't? Sounds like an even worse let down to me.
