I'm going to have to start going to acupuncture every day to keep me from losing my mind!!!! I've been baking SO much lately! I put on about 12 lbs when I started the Stims back in Sept and I've lost 10 of those lbs... I keep giving away all kinda sweets and rolls and biscuits so I won't be tempted to eat them! This Lupron has me hungry and hormonal and the BCP has me constipated... I'm just having a good ole time right now with this body. LMAO!

Yes, we've all been there! I am still doing acupuncture once a week whether I need it or not! And baking is so therapeutic, and everyone wins with that! Just gotta laugh and have a good attitude.

@ShayLatrice .. I asked that question . It's no longer really an issue. Science has come so far. Both of our embryos thawed just fine for our first IVF. Now if the would just stick! I've got to catch up on all of you. I haven't been on in awhile. I hope all is well!!!!

My post vaca update:
Yesterday, we saw a bigger LO, I think I even saw something resembling arms and legs. The cub measured 8w2d and heard and measured 158 bpm. If I'm being totally honest it yesterday was the first day I finally allowed myself to believe it for real -- I'm pregnant!! I am also a graduate. Next week we go to our OB. Excited but sad to leave the comfort of our office. Yesterday they even gave us a parting gift. Our first baby gift is a baby spoon. It'll probably be hung from our tree this Christmas. Definitely have to get an edible over there asap!

I got my call today from the lab with a report on how many of my embryos are still growing/frozen. All 5 are still growing, #1 is already frozen grade 4AB, #2 should be frozen tomorrow (is currently a 3AB) #'s 3-5 are still not at the blastocyst stage. The lab tech who called couldn't tell me the likelihood of them making it to blasts. She did say that they don't freeze anything that isn't at least a 3, preferably a 4. Anyone else know anything about that? I would think the other 3, since they are still growing, have the potential to be viable? I'm just happy we have something to transfer on Dec. 9th! Start shots tomorrow...

Question: how often were you updated on your embryos? I'm 2dp5dt, I have no information my embryos. I dont know how many made it to freeze, I don't know what grade they are. I know nothing. Is that normal?
@Colleen0516 They called me only once and that was right after fertilization. Then I called them on day 5 to get an update because I knew they were about to close and I still didn't have any updates. I mean at this point you've already had your transfer so there is no reason why they shouldn't give you a status on the rest of your embies.

@HBMama2B I feel the same way! I want to know exactly what's going on, after all they are MY embryos!! I don't see why he thinks I'm so crazy for wanting to know. Those are my potential future babies, I'd like to know their status. My practice annoys me with stuff like that. They tell us bare minimal.

So we have had the talk DH and I about our plans for when the twins come..... and honestly I am kinda freaking out. I have worked since I was 14 years old. As I got older and I got out of school I took on more jobs doing things I loved and would have up to 3 jobs at one point 3 years ago. I recently went to having one job that actually pays very well and I love it but Daycare will actually cost more than our mortgage and leave us 215 a month left over from my salary.....crazy yes but true.... So we have decided I will stay home with the babies and eventually find something to work from home to help with things after I have settled in to being a mommy of 2 which FYI i am stoked about. My DH is a teacher and they do not make as much as they should. Is anyone else planning to stay home after the baby or babies are born? What are you beautiful ladies planning. I know I just ranted but this is a big deal to me and DH is just happy to have me home with our littles......

@Colleen0516 I'm feeling ok. Felt a little crampy on and off the last two days. Today no cramps, but I woke up feeling really tired, which stayed with me all day. I think it's the progesterone cuz it's way too early to be a pregnancy symptom. I share your frustration on embryo updates. I was only updated the day after retrieval and the day of transfer. They finally emailed me my full report today, but only after I reached out. They didn't explain anything to me, so I don't know the grade of the ones that made it to freeze. I can't believe your RE's protocol is to wait til your beta to update you. That is ridiculous! You have every right to know sooner and they have the job of keeping you informed about YOUR embryos.
I'm having such a hard time not symptom spotting. I still haven't been able to stop searching Dr. Google. One more week til my beta.

@Knottie24173360 that's exciting! And I understand your nervousness with such a huge transition. How blessed are you to get to stay home? I was a nanny for many years and specialized in first year development. It's amazing what that level of close care can do to start your LOs off with an advantage. (Tip for twins #1 from my nanny days--only bathe one at a time (or with help if both in the tub) until about 18-24 mths! Slippery little suckers!)
I wish I could stay home, that's my ideal, but I will not be able to Bc working in NYC, there are zero places we could live on one salary. I'm hoping I'll be able to go back to work part time from home after the LO comes and not go full time until 6 mths at least. So frustrating.
@Knottie24173360 I know the feeling of being a workaholic! I too worked multiple jobs all my life- I actually still do lol. I'm a teacher, a coach, and a Rodan + Fields consultant, plus I do some side for work my dads business. I don't know how to function if I'm not busy lol.
We aren't sure what we are gonna do when we get pregnant. I would love to keep teaching, so I most likely will! Our goal is to maybe retire my husband. His hours are worse than mine. Plus with my Rodan+Fields skincare business, I'm able to work from home or on the go. It's easy to fit into my schedule and I make extra income doing it! I know people who do R+F as a primary job and make a great salary-- working from home would be my goal! As of now we're both gonna work, (but we aren't pregnant yet, and don't know how many we will have when we are) so I guess it all depends.
nannys and daycare are so expensive so it's not worth it sometimes! Any family members that can watch the babies?
@Rachd110 I'm feeling the same! Very tired- sleeping more than usual! Slightly crampy here and there. Otherwise, all the same as stimming. I'm so annoyed with my practices protocol. I'm gonna call today and get an update! Grr! They say don't stress and then don't keep us in the loop- kinda counterproductive! Any ways- not the biggest deal, but would be nice if they gave me a report. Is your goal to make it to beta without testing? Or you testing early? I so badly wanna see a positive pregnancy test! lol so I may test early, but I'm not sure. Can't handle another negative, so I don't know. I'm torn.

@Knottie24173360, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. My sister in law just quit her job because of the price of daycare for their two boys (not twins, but both under four). Their costs were also more than their mortgage and her next gain was very similar to what yours would be. They are already seeing a difference in their pocket book and their older son was able to start pre-school. They are really happy with their decision.
I understand your nervousness too, especially if you really love your job. I will also stay home and faced the same feelings when facing our decision. It was always our hope that I would be able to stay home, so I feel like it is an absolute blessing.
It was a little easier for me because we moved here a little more than a year ago and I traded a job that I L-O-V-E, love, love, loved (school librarian for a fantastic, progressive, big district) for a job I was only luke warm to (school librarian for a district with no vision and bad leadership) and that was not very kind to me when it came to seeking treatments (docked pay and everything), so when it came time for contract renewal, I resigned. I'm working part-time, but as a sub, so it's a very flexible schedule and perfect for if I'm feeling crummy or have an appointment, etc.
Of course the downside of me staying home is that my husband has to work a few more days at his second job and that we are always on budget lockdown. At this point we feel that it is worth it, but will re-evaluate when/if needed.

I just got the call from our Progenity screening this afternoon (nice of them to not make me wait till Monday, huh?). Twins are free of chromosomal abnormalities and are GIRLS!!
We haven't even started talking names, except that DH my spreadsheet (yeah, I'm that guy) and made fun of the first name he saw #rude
We feel so overwhelmed by the childcare issue. We both are blessed (okay, really, benefited by hard work) to have excellent salaries but even so twins in day care full time is a HUGE chunk. As of right now, we both want to keep working. Me especially because as a woman in tech, they say it's really hard to get back in once you get out. Definitely entertaining the idea of going part time.
How can daycare centers have a 18-36 month wait list? Are you supposed to get on the wait list before you ovulate or what? Obviously not an option for those of us who have to rely on science, amirite? Wtf.

I'm having such a hard time not symptom spotting. I still haven't been able to stop searching Dr. Google. One more week til my beta.
@Knottie24173360 that's exciting! And I understand your nervousness with such a huge transition. How blessed are you to get to stay home? I was a nanny for many years and specialized in first year development. It's amazing what that level of close care can do to start your LOs off with an advantage. (Tip for twins #1 from my nanny days--only bathe one at a time (or with help if both in the tub) until about 18-24 mths! Slippery little suckers!)
I wish I could stay home, that's my ideal, but I will not be able to Bc working in NYC, there are zero places we could live on one salary.
We aren't sure what we are gonna do when we get pregnant. I would love to keep teaching, so I most likely will! Our goal is to maybe retire my husband. His hours are worse than mine. Plus with my Rodan+Fields skincare business, I'm able to work from home or on the go. It's easy to fit into my schedule and I make extra income doing it! I know people who do R+F as a primary job and make a great salary-- working from home would be my goal!
As of now we're both gonna work, (but we aren't pregnant yet, and don't know how many we will have when we are) so I guess it all depends.
nannys and daycare are so expensive so it's not worth it sometimes! Any family members that can watch the babies?
@Rachd110 I'm feeling the same! Very tired- sleeping more than usual! Slightly crampy here and there. Otherwise, all the same as stimming.
I'm so annoyed with my practices protocol. I'm gonna call today and get an update! Grr! They say don't stress and then don't keep us in the loop- kinda counterproductive! Any ways- not the biggest deal, but would be nice if they gave me a report.
Is your goal to make it to beta without testing? Or you testing early?
I so badly wanna see a positive pregnancy test! lol so I may test early, but I'm not sure. Can't handle another negative, so I don't know. I'm torn.

We haven't even started talking names, except that DH my spreadsheet (yeah, I'm that guy) and made fun of the first name he saw
We feel so overwhelmed by the childcare issue. We both are blessed (okay, really, benefited by hard work) to have excellent salaries but even so twins in day care full time is a HUGE chunk. As of right now, we both want to keep working. Me especially because as a woman in tech, they say it's really hard to get back in once you get out. Definitely entertaining the idea of going part time.
How can daycare centers have a 18-36 month wait list? Are you supposed to get on the wait list before you ovulate or what? Obviously not an option for those of us who have to rely on science, amirite? Wtf.
