Hello ladies!
It's still very early days for this BMB, which means most of us have only found out we were pregnant in the last few days and many more people will join us over the next couple of weeks. Though it isn't something we like to think about, I'm sure we all have that little voice in the back of our minds going. "What if something goes wrong?". (Especially if you've experienced a loss before.) We're not the first ones to think about this, and not the first to want to research this. User @l4rk from the January 2016 BMB found that she only felt a little bit better after looking at statistics about this topic, and she realised why;
"...articles on miscarriage focus on the chances you're going to miscarry and all the comments share miscarriage stories--they don't focus on how many people DON'T have miscarriages and go on to have happy, healthy babies!"
So she inverted this week-by-week chart to focus on the chances of NOT having an early miscarriage. I found it very reassuring when I first read it (before I was even pregnant) and it has since been shared on a few other BMBs, where it was well-received. I hope it will ease your minds as well. Every day that we are pregnant, the chances of everything going RIGHT increase!
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy nine months and I look forward to getting to know you all!

I just check this chart every day and just hope with all my heart that we all stay pregnant!

I'm going to be 5 weeks tomorrow with our first and this is very comforting. Especially because I have had some spotting. Made a screenshot so I can take a look whenever I feel a bit nervous.
Thank you so much!

On Saturday, I am planning to go to a college football game here in town (Go Hawkeyes!) and it's supposed to be 90 and extremely humid. I'm a little bit apprehensive to expose myself to the heat and risk for dehydration. I experienced a loss back in May, and I'm just really on edge about this pregnancy because I obviously don't want it to happen again.
I called the nurse's line and told her my thoughts and what her advice would be. She said that nothing I do or don't do will prevent a loss from happening. If it is going to happen, there's nothing I can do to stop it. So, for some this might be even scarier than thinking about a miscarriage, but it was a great reminder to me that it is out of my hands. In my situation, all I can do is use common sense in regards to my own health, but if this baby is to be, then me going out for a few hours will be okay.
I hope this is additional comfort to those worrying about this and not something more to worry about.
:x
