Re: TTTC Checkin - 08/17/2015

  • In the middle of my TWW...beta is next Monday 8am! Imagining that every symptom might mean something, but then being negative and thinking it might just not work...super tired though! Let's see how long I'll be able to hold off POAS!

QOTW: reading a book/watching movies. We've had a pretty amazing summer here and been super busy with yard work, so I feel like I haven't been able to do that in forever!

keeping my FX for this round

Question of the Week:   How do you like to spend a rainy day?
Definitely a movie day snuggled up with my doggies and DH

    Married: 8/29/2009
TTC- since we got married (off and on)
TTC with focus: Since July 2015
Currently had 2 rounds of failed IUIs, failed TI monitored cycle
December 2015: Starting 1st IVF cycle
    January 2016: Retrieval
March 2016: Pending Transfer (I have 3 PGS tested embryos waiting for a womb)
April 2016: BFP, the old fashioned way.

  • I'm still waiting for AF to return so that I can schedule my SIS. I'm tracking CM to gauge when ovulation could be on its way but I'm on cd22 and haven't seen any fertile cm yet. I have an appt to go over blood test results sept 16 but if AF cooperates I may get to go over them at the SIS appointment.

    @KidShrink best wishes for Monday!!

Hmm. I would probably spend a rainy day watching things on Netflix, crocheting, and painting my nails.

  • My beta was this morning, so I hear I sit in yet another wait.  This is going to be the longest day ever.  I am cautiously optimistic but know from last round not to get my hopes up to to high.  The only thing different from  last time around is that AF started the day before my beta last cycle.  This time, no sign of it in sight but that could also be because of the progesterone and estrogen.  Hopefully we will have some positive news in a few hours.

    @kidshrink good luck on monday!

QOTW - I would binge watch netflix all day!

  • First iui was in July. It was a bfn. Went for baseline today and they found a cyst. Waiting to hear results if it's producing estrogen. So in limbo now. Unexplained infertility. Husbands numbers are excellent and I produced a lot of good sized follies last month but it didn't work. Hoping this iui won't be cancelled.

Ovulated on my own this month on CD22. AF showed up this weekend with a painful vengeance. I'm following up with my RE this week to give up being stubborn and see what's next for us. She's concerned because my cycles are still really long and not regular.

Still waiting on results to transfer from the OB that initially diagnosed me with PCOS. My RE didn't look at my ovaries, but my OB did and the pictures are in my files. That are hopefully not lost in transit.

I like to spend my rainy days snuggled on the couch with a good book, some hot coffee, and all the windows open!
  • Good Afternoon ladies!!!
I finished my second round of Letrozole last week and went in for my Ultrasound this morning to see if i had any good follies!
    These were my results:
    Day 11
Left Ovary: 2.4 and 2.0 (i guess the 2.0 is the one we are betting on)
Endometrium: 2mm (they like it to be 8mm but i guess it can still work)

I was given my Ovidrel Trigger Shot and now we will do Timed Intercourse:)
Last month I felt our Timed intercourse wasn't great. This time we have held out quite a while in hopes we have a better chance!

  • @cupcakegal930 and @kidshrink - fX crossed for you and all good vibes being sent your way. Thinking of you ladies.

I had retrieval today. Produced six follies and all were mature, which is actually a great number for me (first cycle I only produced five follies, only 4 mature, so two more eggs to work with this cycle). I'm a year and a half older so quality may be sketchier, but you never know. In my head I've already moved on to plan b, but there's a part of me that keeps reminding myself that you only need one and I already know by body can get pregnant. Hope dies last :)

I spend rainy days going for a rainy run and laying down and listening to the rain. It's the best!

  • @Cupcakegal930 I am so sorry to hear that! That's a little while to wait to speak to the doctor again. You and your hubby deserve something fun! Is there a little weekend getaway you guys can take to just enjoy each other and try to take your mind off the BFN? What about a cheesecake coma? I let myself binge on coffee whenever AF shows up. It's kind of lame really but it kind of helps me deal at the same time.

  • So sorry @Cupcakegal930 I got my bfn last Friday. It's a bummer so I had some wine. And now starting clomid again so I'm happy for this second chance.
  • This cycle did not work for me. My cycle actually came early so no need to take a test. I am not going to do any more medication. Going to try acupuncture for about 6 months. Then i guess my only other option is ivf and i am still not ready for that.

On cold rainy days i like to stay in my bed with a good movie all warm and toasty.

So sorry to all you ladies that did not get a BFP. We will get through this.
  • Taking my 4th Clomid in the a.m. Basically a raging hot mess right now. DH is avoiding me. This is so fun *rolls eyes*
DX PCOS + mild male factor
    TTC since Dec. 2015
Current Treatment: Metformin, Provera, Letrozole, Trigger, IUI
Past Treatment: Clomid + Metformin x 3 BFN
Letrozole 5 mg + Trigger shot + IUI = BFP!
    Beta confirmed 8/22
    EDD 5/1/17
  • No updates here right now...just finished round two of Clomid with 100mg instead of 50mg, so we'll see if that makes a difference, FX!  I am so sorry @cupcakegal930 -- stay strong and let any of us know if you need to chat.

On rainy days I like to stay home and marathon watch movies or Netflix or go shopping :)
  • No updates here either. Waiting to o in round 4 of clomid. @Cupcakegal930 so sorry to hear that, hang in there!

On rainy days I like curling up under a warm blanket with a hot drink and a good book. Or Netflix :)
  • Hello - new to this board. Been hanging out on TTC after a loss, but given how much we struggled to get pregnant the first time, I feel like I probably belong here too. Here's my deal:

    1.  How long have you been TTC? 10 months prior to BFP in June, miscarried July 1, now cleared to start TTC again

    2.  What is your diagnosis? Male factor - motility, morphology and count. Also have unexplained late-cycle spotting.

    3.  What is your current treatment plan? We were all set to start IUI when we got our BFP. Now waiting for cycles to even out post-MC and then back to the RE. Just charting/OPK til then.

Question of the Week:   How do you like to spend a rainy day?  Magically discovering that there are Law & Order SVU episodes out there I haven't seen yet and watching them ALL.
  • @Cupcakegal930 so sorry. Let us know if you need to talk.

I just finished first round of clomid this past weekend and go Thursday to see if it did anything so fx. This past weekend DH and I spent time cleaning and organizing. We are trying to stay positive. We have been talking about painting the guest room which would hopefully become a nursery but we don't want to jinx anything.

QOTW: I would spend a rainy day either cleaning or binge watching tv/new movies.

That's way better than our last cycle when really only one fertilized. I'm having an uncharacteristic moment of feeling hopeful on this.

  • @LauraNick2010 : we have a similar guest room situation. We actually have this one unused (except for an old desk with the cat's food because our dog would otherwise eat it, and some of my old grad school stuff). It is painted this awful pepto bismol pink! We've left it as is when we bought the house almost two years ago thinking it was silly to paint a room just to repaint it a few months later...well it's still that awful colour, and sometimes I have the opposite feeling: maybe life is just messing up with me and I need to clear it and paint it whatever other colour (maybe something totally not appropriate for a baby) to finally get a BFP! I'm tempted to experiment at this point!

  • @KidShrink maybe we both should give it a shot and see what happens. DH is thinking a very light grey. Right now it is almost a chocolate milkshake brown.
  • @LauraNick2010 : I do like the very light grey idea...I think we purchased a very light grey/beige for that room when we got paint for the rest of the house, and we just got tired of painting and decided to hold off. What if all I
need is to paint that darn room?! I'll talk to DH about it tonight, but I have a feeling he's going to tell me to wait til Monday (my beta)

@clt2pwm11 I am taking my 4th Clomid today as well.  Looks like we are on the same schedule.  Are you doing an IUI or timed intercourse?

@babyexpress we are doing timed intercourse. How about you?

IUI #2.  We should be on 2ww together.  Do you do a beta test when you do timed intercourse or a hpt at 14 days?

  • Today sucked. My period started late in the day on Thursday but my RE counts days as days no matter how late in the day your period starts. I called on Thursday night and left a message and when the receptionist called me back on Friday she told me I was wrong and Friday counted as day 1 and wouldn't give me a Monday appointment. So today when I went in the RE told me it was too late and I could only do a natural cycle with no meds. I pointed out that I did everything and asked for a Monday appointment and he agreed to try the meds but he thinks it might be too late and they won't do anything. Then he left the room and the nurse asked me "so 5 days of clomid 100?" I just stared at her and said I was assuming 50 because that is what I have always been on and made 4-5 follies but I don't know, he didn't say. Then she asked if I was doing TI or IUI. I hate this clinic sometimes. I feel like no one has any clue what is going on. To top everything off randomly the doctor that I wanted to see for a second opinion (but works over 1.5 hours away) was covering for my doctor yesterday so I wouldn't have gotten to see her anyways if things had worked out. I was bawling by the time I left and the receptionist wouldn't even apologize she just said that she always asks the nurses things so it wasn't her fault. And this cycle is the last cycle I could deliver here with everyone who supported me through our loss as DH and I have to move next summer.

Right now I would cry and sleep on a rainy day. When I'm in a good mood, if there is no thunder or lightning my favorite thing is to swim in the rain.
