Dr. Brown bottles

Hey mommy's..... Does anyone else use the dr. Browns bottles? I use them for my baby to help with the spit up.. I have notice that the bottles smell weird. I wash them immediately after each feeding... I have boiled them almost every day.. I let them sit in hot soapy water for a while. I even thought the formula went bad and threw away a whole bin of formula just to realize it happened again with the new bin of formula. I wash all the parts of the bottle with the small brush it brings. Has anyone else delt with this??

  • I use the glass versions of the Dr. Brown's bottles but the vent system is still the same and I have not had this problem. You seem to be taking extra care with the vent system, which is where I'd figure the problem would be. Are you possibly having any water problems?
  • I buy the baby water at babies r us.... So I don't think it's that.
  • This may sound strange, but have you noticed any pink film in the bottles? I am also using Dr Browns and have on occasion noticed a pink stain and a foul smell. It only happened a few times and resolved with intense scrubbing and sterilizing.
  • No I haven't seen any pink film on the bottle or the parts... What I have been doing is letting all the parts sit over night in hot soupy water... It helps but 3 0r 4 days later the smell is back
  • I put them in the dishwasher after I use them as they smell fine
