Hello, We are in the process of stocking up on
baby gear, and I have questions on 2 different items. One, what is everyone’s favorite thermometer
to take baby’s temperate (and why is it your fav)? And second, how many blankets do we really
need? There are so many, from swaddling
blankets, to receiving blankets, to the soft fuzzy ones, and more… I do not
know what is really needed and I don’t want to overdo it.Thanks!
1. Agree, rectal is the most accurate and puts my mind at ease to confirm a temperature (plus it helps with constipation too) 2nd choice is a temporal lobe one by Vicks (exergen one is not accurate at all)
2. 5-7 recieving blankets (can roll a few up and use in the car seat to keep newborns head from rolling too much.) and I don't like to laundry so often. Also a few sleep sacks or miracle blankets are good when they are too wiggly to swaddle.
