I've had a couple throughout my pregnancy so far. Honestly, I don't really care for the taste (I'm a Miller Lite kind of girl, and the non-alcoholic beers just taste too, IDK, "hoppy" or something to me) but I figured why the heck not. I know there's a small amount of alcohol still in them, but it's such a miniscule amount. If you want to try one, go for it!
There is a well known hospital in Toronto that specializes in evaluating the risk to moms - and is called Mother Risk ( I think motherrisk.ca Is website? ). They conducted a study on a number of near-beers and shockingly found that something like 30% of the brands had mislabeled the alcohol content. One of the brands had labeled as 0% while actually testing as 3%, if I recall correctly.
Not saying you should avoid this type of drink, just know that there might not be the total certainty you might expect regarding accuracy of labels.
It's very common where I live but I'd never drink one by itself. Something the bars here do is make a type of shandy. It's so good in the summer! You just mix your beer with lemon fanta. Give it a try with some of the non-alcoholic stuff!
I have not tried any yet during pregnancy. I have tried the non alcoholic coors a few years ago. It tasted pretty good. I have been craving the taste of beer.
Remember that "non-alcoholic" beers still are 0.5-1% alcohol legally in the US. I had one on the 4th of July and I really didn't think it was worth it- I've never liked the taste of them though.
Meh, not worth it to me. Love me some beer and wine, but I'll just wait for the good stuff. If I'm wanting to drink something while at a family party that I haven't been normally drinking, I just have pop or a coffee.
Beck's make non-alcoholic beer...it's not too bad. I'm a huge beer drinker (not Bud Lite; more specialty), and I found Beck's to have the best taste close enough to the real thing lol. It does contain less than .5% alcohol, but that's nothing compared to the 5-7% I had been drinking before I was pregnant. I've tried a few others, but they were pretty bland.
