Peeing on a bar of soap to determine sex

So someone told me to buy a Dove bar of soap, place it in the toilet, and pee on it three times to determine my babies sexes. If it bubbles a little, it's a boy, if it bubbles a ton, it's a girl.
Mine didn't bubble at all! Does that meant two boys or that something is wrong?

Hmm.. if it doesn't react, it could be two girls or it could be a boy and a girl and the two results are canceling each other out?  OR you could be having puppies.

Also, did you flush between times peeing?  The fresh water might be messing up your result.

I did not flush, I took my used tp to another toilet and flushed it there.

No.  @bostonbaby1 I think it depends on what soap you use daily because your body is in tune to those ingredients.

I just asked my sister's best friend's cousins baby daddy's mother and she said you're supposed to pee on it then wash with it to see if it bubbles or not.

Don't forget... If your rubber gloves are pink, it may turn out to be a girl. If they are the original yellow, it could go either way.

No bubbles doesn't mean a boy when it's twins. No bubbles means it is kittens. Matching gray kittens.

I'm not trying to be mean, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The toilet water would neutralize the soap. I think it's better to squat over the bar of soap in the tub and then see how much it bubbles...that way the water isn't messing with the results like PP said.

Also, I thought it had to be Irish Springs brand? Doves been known to have dud bars when it comes to sex predicition, that's probably why yours didn't bubble.

ETA: I didn't see before that @BostonBaby1 had already suggested Irish Spring. That's how you know that's the right brand, she always knows what she's talking about!! Your friend was wrong about Dove.

@ChiccoBeanz, this may be a dumb question, but whawhat is "African black soap"?
When you did it, did the prediction end up being correct? I just cannot wait another week to find out and should have done the earlier blood test to find out.

@MrsBwIVF You're welcome! If you really can't wait and don't want to pee in the tub I heard from a user on here a month or so ago that you can get an amnio to find out the sex, but you might end up waiting for results anyways. But I hope your twins are whatever sex you want them to be!!!

@fmraglio, thank you! I know they "claim" sex is predetermined at conception but I'm not 100% sold. So I have a vision board where I have tons of pictures of girls for baby A and boys for baby B. I also talk to each one and tell them "you will be a girl. You will be a boy."

@hplunkett2883, jokes on you! I'm not wearing panties because I read somewhere the extra fabric can make it harder for them to breath in the womb. So as often as I can, I'm either naked from the waist down or wear only thin, breathable athletic shorts.

Yes, there are tons of old wives tales. I used the search function and didn't find this one mentioned yet, so I started a discussion to find others who may have tried it.

I will go look for Irish Springs this weekend and try it out in the tub. I will let everyone know what comes of it. Fx!!

@hplunkett2883 They can't "breathe" in the womb until the 3rd trimester but the pressure from clothing can restrict space so baby doesn't have enough fluid. My mother's best friend's cousin's nice went through this and because of it her daughter’s foot was never quite right.

Normally I agree with you @hplunkett2883 but these ladies are right! My midwife warned me of this as well, I stopped wearing panties as soon as I started showing, think about how cramped they are in there already!!

It MIGHT work but it sounds painful and I'be never tried it that way so I can't say for sure. Did it work for you or are you not sure yet?

Not sure. I couldn't get a good angle to see if there were any bubbles. I should try checking it out with a mirror.

Ok guys, this totally works. I peed on dove, dial, Irish springs, and target brand. I just set them all in my tub and then squatted and made sure all bars got equal pissiness. They all bubbled so much that my tub overflowed, it's def a girl!!!!

OP, maybe the twins thing is throwing it off. Keep peeing!!!

Well SOME of us are a little more willing to find these things out than others, it seems. 

My other theory is that perhaps the soap thing has the hook effect like a home pee test does. If that's the case, I think you're supposed to dilute it with something. Water won't cut it because we've already determined from previous posters that water just negates things ... so something else perhaps? Ginger ale (we all seem to have that in the fridge these days)?
