My fiance and I are having our first child together and we are set on the name Braxton. My family and I are happy with it despite what some people might think. It's actually similar to my fiancés name as well as the county where his family originated from. And I personally just think it sounds very strong, masculine, and modern, but also hope others wouldnt judge someone based on a name. However, I originally came on here to get help with a middle name that might go with it. I never done this before but I just assumed women would be more supportive and would want to help build confidence in other pregnant women in stead of tearing them down. Therefore, I was looking for help making up my mind, as well as some fresh (serious) ideas. Some names I picked (Giovanni after my grandfather), others my mother in law (hence Emerson). Thanks for any advice I can actually get on the middle name...And just for the record I'd like to say in advance I kindly disagree with any negitive feeback on my son's first name (I think I heard enough and got the point), but cannot be persuade otherwise. Thanks for your time!

I like Alexander best but I refuse to ever vote to name a child anything with Braxton in it so I didn't vote. Good luck!

If you are getting this bend out of shape you shouldn't have even asked for goodness sake. Guaranteed you and more importantly your son will get it in IRl and you can't throw a tantrum when it happens then. You posted in an online forum where people can respond how they see. Every time this "name" gets posted its full of hicks comments so actually I would think that is helpful because it's a glimpse at what comes to people's minds who aren't you family whois going to only tell you what you want to hear.
Also I would find things like that helpful before hand vs after using said name
You keep commenting about how of course you pregnant women associate Braxton with Hicks but others won't. Think about how many women you know that have been and/or will become pregnant. I'm sure they all have/will have the same opinion.
Strangers are much more likely to tell you how it is than friends and family so just appreciate that you're getting an unbiased honest opinion. Take it or don't, it won't affect anyone here.

ETA thought I quoted OP saying of course it would come to pregnant people's minds. Guess I didn't. Don't know how to add a quote once I've already posted.

Whether you like it or not people are going to associate Braxton with hicks or Toni Braxton. That's just the way it is. If it bothers you that much maybe you should consider another name.
If I came on here and said I was going to name my kid Summer Eve, what do you think everyone is going to say? How about Tyson? People are going to say it reminds them of Mike Tyson or the chicken brand.
If you are set on this name because it's "different" then well, its not. Bradley is the less popular name, and it doesn't have the associations Braxton has.
Edit: typos, and to say I like the flow of Braxton Cole the best of your choices. Of all the names listed, my favorite combo is Nathaniel Braxton

And of course you don't know any Braxtons but you know several Brads. Braxton is right on trendy with the recent surge in popularity in the surname trend.
