  • Well, LO decided she wanted to nap on my lap, soooo...catching up on the thread, 121 new posts?! Long weekend seemed like a bust for lots of peeps, hope the new week gets better!...people talking about onions is making me nauseous after I woke up to my brother making eggs with tomatoes, chili, and onions for breakfast, which made my MS come back with a vengeance!...but I did have chocolate pudding last night ;;)

@lcq5504 lovetit in solidarity. Sick LO sleeping on the boob here for the last hour and a half. And the chocolate pudding. That sounds fantastic.
  • @smushi hope your LO gets better soon! Mine is just getting over a cold so I feel your pain.

@skruhmin I loooooove my BP!!! We recently went from a queen to a king, and if I don't use mine, my hip will hurt for the next two days! Glad the solution is so easy! ;)
ETA: new bed is too soft, but DH sleeps like a baby and loves it!

Temporarily in a Queen since our King is in storage while our house is being built.  I miss that bad boy!  Best purchase for our marriage.

  • I caught the inertia! Sat down in the couch to relax for a few minutes and it has been 40. I am so tired I don't want to move. The first 3 weeks of school are always so exhausting.
  • Save some pudding for me huys, can't eat it yet but it does sound devine. Don't know if I spelled that right but to tired to check google.
  • Eurgh, just had a missed call from my midwife saying she was calling to go over a test result with me. She said everything was fine but obviously that means nothing to me and I'm feeling very nervous as I can't call her until tomorrow. I can only think it has to do with my Pap smear, a possibility of BV or else the blood test I had with my NT scan. But she sounded so calm on the phone, like, it's nothing urgent, give me a call tomorrow or Friday. If it was someone else I'd say calm down but when it's happening to me I find it hard to take my own advice :(:(

  • Made quiche for dinner (one of DH's favorites) and ate just one slice before giving up on the texture and eating ramen instead. DH informed me as I was getting off the couch tonight that I look like I've lost weight. Not promising, but my first appointment is monday, so hopefully I'll get some good news there! 12 weeks today, 28 to go!
  • @ecwk waiting is the worst! If it helps my doctors office will leave a message for me to call them even when the results come back fine. I'm not really sure why? Deep breaths and positive thoughts your way.
  • Wow I still have full size bed never needed or wanted to upgrade my husband and I can lay in the bed without touching. The only time I think we need a bigger bed is when our kids decide to climb in on the weekends. We had a king on vacation once and it felt like we were oceans apart didn't like it I prefer my full.
  • @red3ye I'm enjoying it while I can, I have a feeling I'll be getting a call in the next day or two telling me I have GD again. :(

@ecwk Hang in there! Positive vibes going your way! :)
  • My husband and I upgraded to a king about a year ago and it's been ahhhmazing. Obviously we are still plenty intimate (have been KU 3 times since then...) but I still have the space I love to sleep in any position - typically on my belly with a leg in a 90 degree angle. This would be impossible with my 5'11 legs in our old queen bed with a dog or two (we have 3) in bed with us.

    TL;DR - king beds are a godsend.

  • I'm the one in our marriage who isn't the cuddler. I'm good going to sleep for about 10 minutes of spooning and then I can't take it any more. Plus my husband is a major bed hog.

  • Ha ha!! We have a queen. I think a king size bed would be futile. DH hates that I've ruined big beds for him. I'm not a cuddler when I sleep but I am...hmm...insecure?... I need to feel him next to me. Don't want to touch him or cuddle him but close enough to "feel" him there. No matter how big of bed we end up in, I end up inching my way over to him while I sleep. He can't get away!! On our recent road trip he tried getting a room with two full size beds so we'd have our own space and I wouldn't inch towards him. He ended up falling out of the bed twice! He's so used to me that now he inches towards me, except I wasn't there but the floor was! =))

    Ah funny!
  • @ecwk Considering your midwife wasn't worried, probability is on your side that everything will turn out okay. It still stinks to wait, though! Thinking positive thoughts for you!
  • Can't sleep and made the mistake of checking this. I usually don't bump at night and now I remember why.

Anyone have any get to sleep remedies? I suppose I should shutdown the electronics and try to close my eyes....

  • May sound silly, but on nights when I can't sleep, I cuddle with a teddy bear. Dh has given me a teddy every valentines since we got together. When we have had to spend time apart I always cuddled with one to help me sleep. Now they are a life saver for me. Dh normally stays up till 2am and I'm in bed by midnight normally so it works. If you have something to give you comfort, I am sure it would work the same.

AHHHH!!! I'm so upset! I just realized I missed the first episode of Stephen Colbert as the real Stephen Colbert. Hopefully his late show still has all the hard hitting questions everyone else is afraid to ask.

I just started using Pandora again, their Soundscapes and Lullabies station is awesome, and sometimes I use a sleep mask/eye mask, blocks everything right out! I-)

  • Amen to king size beds.... DH and I don't like unexpected skin to skin and both move a lot so we also have multiple comforters on the bed

  • I am shocked by how many people do the genetic testing/find out the baby's sex so early. I don't know a single person IRL who found out their baby's sex before 18 weeks. Or if they did, they kept it a secret until then. Does insurance cover that kind of thing?

It's a response to the "on demand" mindset of this generation... I could have paid £100 to do genetic testing that wasn't medically necessary but I would rather have thatone in savings or spend on the baby in a more tangible way

Good morning y'all! I'm over here excited for my u/s today! :) Also, @ecwk if your midwife didn't sound worried then everything should be ok. I know "don't worry" sounds repetitive at this point but just try not to. My happy dance :)image

Just threw up in the trash can in my office. Luckily no one was around to hear. I just took the trash out. :( With my son I pretty much threw up everyday after breakfast and lunch from around 9-10 weeks until around 16 weeks. This time I have been sick but have only thrown up twice until yesterday I threw up breakfast and lunch. Looks like this PG is going to be the same. Hopefully it doesn't last as long.

We have a queen bed and I really want to get a king but I feel like it would be too easy just to let DS sleep with us. He still wakes up during the night about once a week and it would be super easy just to let him in the bed instead of taking him back to his if we had enough room.

  • Good luck at your appointments ladies :-)

We have a queen and I would absolutely love a king, but DH doesn't think it will fit, but he did give me the okay to buy a new mattress.  So our next task is mattress shopping.
