Don't you hate when dumb shows ruin great names!! I still like Jacob a great deal. Edward is a family name (was supposed to be my name) that I thought about using but not now...
Northern CO peeps, have you guys been to Anderson Farms in Erie? (I think that's where it is). We love going there but we missed it last year.
That's actually about 5 minutes away from where we are building a house. We usually like going to either Miller Farms or Rock Creek since both are way cheaper than Anderson but still awesome.

Anyone watching the debate? No matter your political preference, it's quite entertaining. And if you happen to have a a Twitter, check out the #megynkellydebatequestions hashtag for some guaranteed laughs.
Who's ready for fall? I'm ready for lower water and electric bills! Haha
YES!! Plus I am one of those crazies that totally plays into the whole pumpkin marketing hooorah. I love pumpkin. Also, fall means fresh roasted green chili season!
Nooo for me that means higher heat bills hahah. I love fall but my utility bills have been $500-600 less this summer and I'm not ready for that to end!
Supernatural is amazing! DH likes Jensen for a boy name, but I just can't name my son after someone I regularly fantasize about. Can't do it.
Haha this is great. With Castiel I feel like NO ONE would know this name except for Supernatural fans. I can;t bring my self to name my child after a TV show character.
I can, under other circumstances. Ironically, the only boy name that I like is Sam, but it would not be after Sam Winchester. On the other hand, if we ever get a boy dog, he's totally going to be named Winchester lol
Sam is a really cute name and is common enough that it cannot be tied directly to the show. No one would ever assume that you named DS after Sam Winchester. Castiel however screams Supernatural.
I have a Dean … If you talk to my husband he isn't named after the show though

I was shooting a wedding all day yesterday and then editing photos most of the evening so I'm a little behind.
@yodapup We used to go to Anderson Farms every year, I would take SD to the Terror in the Corn. LOVE THAT PLACE! Don't remember why we didn't go last year, I think we just didn't find a good weekend since I start working weekends. I can't wait for a little one to do some of the more tame things like pumpkin patch, petting zoo, etc.
@skruhmin I'm sitting here this morning drinking my decaf Starbucks coffee with Pumpkin Creamer! I can't believe they put it out this early! Got it at King Soopers. I was soooo freaking excited. My birthday is this month and instead of cake, I always ask for a pumpkin pie instead.
I'm so ready for fall. My favorite season.
Oh and FYI, regarding circumcision, "Male circumcision rates in the United States declined between 1979 and 2010, dropping from almost 65 percent to slightly more than 58 percent, according to a CDC report issued last year." DH is not circumcised, if this is a boy I will leave it up to him as many have said since he is the penis expert in the family. He said he was teased a lot in the locker room. But as the number of circumcisions declines, I doubt that will be a problem.

I know we didn't got to Rock Creek because it was a swampy mess from all the rain we had last October. That's when we discovered Miller Farms. Could that be it? And holy cow I just realized that pumpkin lattes are just around the corner!

Oh man I'm about to tear up thinking about bringing my boys to a pumpkin patch this year. And my 1-year old is probably going to be running around that place - last year I had him in a wrap since he was 3 months old. And my 3-year old is just at a fun age with this stuff. I think he'll really get into pumpkins this year. I just love my little family!

Green Chili Cheese Fries are very easy to make (I don't ever measure when I cook though so sorry about that)
Cut cubes of pork and cook in a large pan. If there isn't a little grease, add just a tad of oil. Add a little flour (couple spoon full) to make a sort of 'roux'. You should add just enough to absorb the moisture from the meat/oil. Stir and let the 'roux' cook a little (this gets the floury taste to go away). Add your diced green chilis (the amount is your preference) and about a cup or two of water. (enough to make a gravy consistency). Let it simmer for a while to help it thicken/develop flavor. You can add a little corn starch if you need to thicken it up. Then pour it over fries (homemade are the best). Add some cheese.
Oh I forgot you can also add a can of pinto beans. DH and I are bean crazy though so you don't have to add them.

So do you allow for sour cream? My father in law thinks I'm nuts for putting sour cream on all Mexican food but I just can't help myself.
Haha I love this. Yes you can add it. We don't usually. But I do love sour cream. When we use this to smother our burritos I always put sour cream on top.
You can also make green chili chicken enchiladas almost the same way. You just use diced chicken instead of pork. Then you use a casserole dish and put layers of corn tortilla, cheese, and green chili until the pan in full. Then throw it in the oven.
I'm here for the workday and then I just don't really check TheBump on my phone too much.
Since I am on summer break, I get on all day when I am home alone but when DH gets home I get off. After school starts though I may become a ghost. I like that its quiet on the weekends because I like to picture that everyone is out with their families having a good time.
I work weekends I wish I was at home having a good time with my family. Plus weekends are terribly boring and slow, but looks like this week we will need the weekend to catch up from this week, there is a mountain of paperwork to work my way through.

This summer has been my laziest summer ever. We did't have summer school because they were building the new school. It's the first time that I have just kicked back and relaxed all summer long. It was fun for a while, and I did tons of projects but projects require money and I had to cut myself off somewhere before it got out of control. So I guess I have become a bump addict to pass the time in between laundry etc. and reading.

Boo for having to work weekends. Also, paperwork is never fun. Sorry
Hi Bump ladies. LO has been on a bed time strike, and I'm exhausted lol. I'm going to have to see some recipes for these green chilies. You're peaking my interest. Today is my last 'day of summer' before we go back for teacher trainings, so I'm sad to think I won't be bumping as much once school starts back

Same here. Monday I am back to the grind. Today is my last day of freedom. I put a green chili cheese fries recipe a couple of posts up.
Alright my mother in law sent me two recipes - I've kind of played
around with them. I don't usually do the potatoes (although you can add
potatoes if it ends up being too salty). You really have to cook this
low and slow to get the best flavors - like all day in a low crock pot.
Green Chile
Cook
pork w/ onion, pepper, 1-2 tsp kitchen bouquet, salt, garlic. Cook
slow over low heat. When meat is done, chop chile fine and add. Let it
cook in. Add 2-3 chicken bouillon cubes. Make flour/water and add to
thicken.
Green Chile
1 TBSP shortening
1 ½ cups of chopped green chili pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
2 TBSP flour
2 cups chicken broth
¾ tsp salt
4 medium potatoes, diced
1 ½ - 2 pounds of cooked pork, diced
Make
a rue with the flour and shortening. Then add everything and let it
cook for about three hours in a crock pot. Don’t let potatoes become
over cooked.
VARIATION: Can add 1 can of stewed tomatoes.
