@flowerpower5838 I would schedule your tour early, a lot of hospitals cancel them during cold and flu season. With my first he was born 5 days before Christmas and they canceled our tour in November because of the flu that was going around. We got to do a virtual tour but it wasn't the same as being there.
@mrsleanmeanclean We've got a few local PT's who specialize in pelvic floor repair and postpartum therapy When I asked my gyno about it (at my 6 week appt lol) he said "Oh yeah, they'll be a great resource for you.... after you have this one" Sigh. Kegels just weren't enough.
Any other c section mamas out there? I am having lots of aching in my scar and it seems more than the normal stretching pain. I had some with my second son but this is like a constant ache right on my scar just wondering if any of the other moms that have had 2 or more c sections have felt this soreness on their scar? I have message in for the nurse since it just hurts to walk and sit and move it just always hurt.
Tonight DD and I went to Target and Walmart. While at Target i was looking at maternity shirts and DD was not impressed. While walking down an aisle she found one of those self - price checker things. She waved her hand underneath it and when it didn't beep she said, "Yep- I'm priceless".

@oceanchild Sorry about your brother. It's a bummer he didn't make it to see you.
@2goofykids sorry that you are sick. Hope you get to feeling better soon. I saw a video once where someone cooked chicken breast in a crockpot and then shredded it using electric beaters. It looked really easy.
Does anyone else find themselves abnormally fuzzy lately? My stomach is covered in this weird sort of peach fuzz that's never been there before. I thought only the baby was supposed to grow the weird hair...
@2goofykids - I boil chicken on the stove or let it cook all day in the crockpot, then throw it in my Kitchen-Aid to shred. It is the greatest thing ever! Also, yes to the belly fuzz. It is gross.
About hospital tours . . . maybe I'm weird, but I never had one. And I didn't feel unprepared. You walk in to the front desk and tell them you're in labor. They escort you to triage. When they decide to admit you, they escort you to a delivery room. After you deliver, they escort you to a recovery room. It's not like you're left unattended to wander the hospital halls and look for a place to give birth . . .

Fingers crossed my doctor had me come in for additional blood work today because we have cases of fifths disease in my school. I was not immune 2 years ago with Ds so I am really hoping I have developed immunity since. She said it would take a few days to get the tests back.
it sounds like a lot if people are having tough weeks hugs all around.
A tour of labor and delivery is awesome! We had one with DS and I was so thankful! They covered things like what type of stuff was provided by the hospital (blankets bottles etc.), but also what their procedures were before and after babies are born including different scenarios such as c sections and the nicu. We will be at the same hospital this time around and I am glad because I thought ds and I got stellar care there and they really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Even offering to get food and drinks for Dh and allowing my in laws into labour and delivery (I wasn't allowed to go to post partum until they could take me off of the magnesium a full 24 hours after he was Born) even though they have a strict 2 visitor policy including the husband. Most hospitals have info on their webpages, but if not you can ask your OB about it.
We have movement- and feeling from the outside! DD and I were laying in bed when I felt this pop in my tummy. I put my hand on it to realize it's Bean! I yanked DD's hand over so she could feel it too lol. But then I made the mistake of texting to dh that we felt it and he got jealous thinking he will never get to feel baby.

Good morrrrrrrrning. It's the day of my A/S!! I just woke up from having a dream about it :x Good luck to anyone else with appointments today! Have a wonderful Friday
I had my first "birthing" dream last night. I dreamed that we were surprised with a boy, even though we thought we were having a girl. I'm not sure why my dream was this way, as we haven't had our A/S scan to tell us what we are having....lol.
The IT tech head was here this morning, just to shoot a video for the school Board. He was supposed to be here at 9, but showed up at 9:40. I took him around to round up some students, but told him I would leave him with someone else because I have to ring the bell (class changes at 9:45). He said ok, did his thing with the students then came back to ask me how I ring the bell. When my fitbit alarms go off I get up, go to the button on the wall and push it. He said that is good to know because he is researching and found that he can tie the bell into the phone lines, so I won't have to get up every hour to manually ring the bell! Yay! It is so annoying when I'm in the middle of working on something and my alarm goes off so I have to stop what I'm doing, ring the bell, then come back and 90% of the time I lost my train of thought by then lol.

I didn't even think about a hospital tour honestly. They are redoing L&D between now and when I'm due. My doctor just said that was her preferred hospital and most matched my needs so I said alright!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day today! I see we have some exciting appointments!

I can't believe that you were still having to manually ring the bell! It's 2015! Lmao! So glad he's getting it fixed for you!

In all fairness, the school I work for is "rent-to-own"ing this school building. It was originally a 1950's Catholic school building and the School closed down in 2006. This is the "school"'s 3rd year in the building here. The Board is slowly getting it renovated to what the modern school needs

I'm getting a picture of newborn life again with my 4-year old. Past two nights he's gotten up in the middle of the night puking. Oh please, dear sweet Jesus, let him feel better today. At least tomorrow is Saturday and we can just chill all day.

Have your doctors ever changes your due date/when did that happen? I don't have regular cycles so no real LMP to go off of. They gave me a due date but kiddo measures bigger than that at every appointment I've had. I'm just curious, she'll come when she feels like it, but I'm sure doctors are wrong from time to time
@SarahFoley725 Also a FTM, but I have had this "issue" as well. My doctor told me that the earliest ultrasounds are usually the best dating tools that they have and that things start varying more after that. I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and baby was measuring 8 days larger than the dating scan. She said either the first tech didn't account for some baby scrunching/curling, my baby is just growing a little faster or a little of both. She didn't want to move the date up (and I didn't either if the first date is correct as I'd like to forgo any induction measures if necessary) but will keep an eye on it going forward as it might cause her to not want me to go to much past my due date.
Slight changes @SarahFoley725, but I always insisted that mine was right (mine was later) bc I didn't want to start hearing the pressure about "not letting me go past X" or (from friends/family) "you have t had that baby yet?!" (which will still happen, but at least it puts a few ppl off). This time I have actually told a lot of people where I live that I'm due around the beginning of April so maybe they will leave me alone a bit longer LOL

Hahaha! The only thing I am slightly worried about is them being wrong and me going too far over. They said they'd induce me at 41 weeks if I haven't had her yet, which is tooooo bad I just worry about their 41 weeks really being 42 weeks or something. My next appointment is the anatomy scan so I'm.assuming they'll be able to get a good idea on how close they are because of her organ development? No idea
I think the biggest worry is if they are too young, if you induce it can be bad for lungs. A/S I was measuring ahead for most things but small for leg size - so I'm definitely having the Hulk with stumpy legs.

@SarahFoley725 if it makes you feel any better, my SIL's 3rd (or 4) baby was born at 43 weeks (she was an HBAC, and my SIL was 41y at the time) - she was positive of their dates bc of diligent charting. And my aunt was born at 43w back a million years ago - my grandmother was also sure of her dates bc grandpa was in the Air Force and due to timing of things, they had only had "one possible encounter" as my grandma delicately puts it

@sarahfoley725 with my DD they did change my EDD during the A/S. I tried to tell the Dr. at my first appt that my cycles were not the standard 28 days and that there little circle chart thingy wasn't going to be accurate. They refused to change it and went by a 28 day cycle. So when i went to the A/S the tech was like 'oh your measuring a couple weeks behind" (which was not news to me since my cycles were 40-45 days) In the end my EDD changed by 2.5 weeks.
I know right?! I get to hear that story again every time I'm pregnant (or any of my cousins are). She goes on and on about how long my aunt's fingernails were and how hairy she was. And the "encounter" OMG. I die every time.

So ladies, I have to brag. A lot. I woke up and it was less that 40* outside. So I'm wearing a long sweater over my t-shirt. Like the favorite March Bump style. It's good to be me. (I guess the last half of October is really good for Colorado to wake up to the fact that it is in fact fall)
